A cocky smile adorned his face as Lark Watched the man approached the Baron " havin a party there lads?" he said his joyful face staring at the Baron.
"And who are you?" that rat of a man asked him
"you stand in the presence of Baron Von Wulfgart who are you to interrupt this session?" he continues
The red headed warrior looked at all of them Lark could make out a short red beard that went with his hair.
"I'm Seamus from Eire, a warrior of God, who might you be to harass a sister of Christ on her travels?" he said looking at the man that same smile on his face, but his eyes held no mirth to his words.
She calms herself cursing herself for having to need protection from the group of men. But there was something she couldn't quite understand as she thought and thought about it why would Seamus as this warrior addressed himself help her? There isn't any need and everyone else in the town hid.
"This is my town , I do as I please here." Came the Baron who grinned his crooked smile
"That may be but its an afront to the lord to prey on his flock no matter who is lord here God is the lord of all his law is above yours" Seamus pointed a wooden club towards the two men its oily black finish shining in the sunlight.
"Or would you like to kiss my shillelagh since you are so fond of usin that mouth of yers." He threatened
With a huff the Baron climbed back into his carriage and rode off his men quickly following behind.
"Well, that solves that problem, eh?" she nudges the younger girl "I'm Seamus" he said holding out his hands for a shake.
Lark stares at the man more confused than anything, Other than Dark Ace no one would typically go to help like this, at least not without some form of benefit in mind.
"Well come one I don't bite" he said his smile fading as she never took the gesture
"Anyways what is a young sister like yourself doin ere?" he asks curiously
She breathes in deeply through her nose. Can't he just go away she thought he helped her now why is he still standing there. 'This god told me to offer services to these men, I need a way back but the technology of these "People" is archaic at best, not one skimmer or cruiser' she thought to herself
Though that wasn't her only question she could guess what a crusade meant to these people it clearly involved fighting over what she did not know, but what was this war in heaven she thought about it ideas of what it could mean in her mind barely missing the fact Seamus started to wave a hand in her face.
"Seamus leave her alone about it, I once traveled to the northern countries from my home to serve god" a deep voice reverberated behind the pale man. Lark blinks as she watches a tall dark skinned man with black beard and a metal helmet that ended in a fine point, his chain shirt shining in the sunlight, a single longsword to his belt around the length of herself comparatively. Bright colored pants and boots adorned his feet and legs only some plate for his shins
"she could've been the same" he finishes
Seamus chuckles "True Sula true"
she watched the two men talk to one another. She growls underneath her breath 'curse this god' she thinks.
"I request to join you on your…..journey" she hissed out
The large black man laughed loudly as he placed a hand on his dagger "talk to Sir James over there he'll get you set up"
He said as he walked off "And where are you going?" Seamus asks "To use this money from Bran to get her some more crystals she isn't holding that thing for no reason" came the reply
Seamus shakes his head as he taps the smaller girl's shoulder leading her to the ship.
The dock wasn't in the best of shape, but it could be worse honestly to her mind she had seen her Talons do a worse job maintaining the docks back in Cyclonia
"Took your time there Seamus" a wise voice said as the pair approached the vessel. Up close she could see six other men waiting for them the one who spoke was clearly the oldest shown by a greying beard. He wore chain mail with a surcoat with a dark back ground and white cross his hair was covered by a coif as he held a helmet to his side a sword at his hip and shield in hand.
"Aye the bloody foul fucker wanted this sister for his harem or whatever he bloody calls it" Seamus said
To his right sat a man wearing a padded coat ' crosses they all have crosses' she thought to herself as she looked at the colourful coat with 5 yellow crosses sewn into its chest.
she could see he was a handsome man brown shaved hair brown eyes, mustache he turned a nob on a wooden device sitting in his lap from what she could see he had a bow. A mace sat at his hip. Above him was a dour man 'more like an assassin than anything. He was clean shaven and bald longbow and from what she could see hatchets he wore a dark longcoat more for hiding in darkness than anything else.
"So she wants to join our little quest" a dark haired man with green eyes said. He wore a similar garb to the old man, but his helm was interesting rounded with chiropteran wings to the sides of it unlike the others.
A man with armor and surcoat with a red cross turned to see her, he was that man who watched her enter the town earlier when she had to leave the docks or rather wanted to leave the docks.
"I come to offer my services as a healer and crystal mage" she said venom lacing her words as she angrily stared at the man
"have you?" the man she assumed was Sir James of Bale said. His short brown hair blew in the breeze as he looked at her.
"Do you have a name?" he asked
"I am Master Cyclonis , Empress of Cyclonia," she replied tired of hiding behind this so called sister moniker they've been giving her the words piquing the interest of several of the men.
"That's a Rank and an eon old name, I asked for your actual name" The man said sighing annoyed
She growls underneath her breath " I am Lark Cyclonis" she said exasperated.
"I thought that sect disappeared eons ago" The shaved man asked to no one in particular
"They say Master Cyclonis lead his sect away through portals during the war in the heavens Bran" the dark-haired warrior told him
She looked at him confusion written on her face There it was again the war in the heavens but what interested her was the mention of Master Cyclonis during this. She looked out to the horizon a single mountain rising up high into the sky. Then it appeared to her those mountains are Terras and this war in the heavens referred to a war between them. She looked at the men as they continued their conversation about it. "What is this War in the Heavens?" she asked hoping to get an answer to confirm her suspicions.
"What Ventrius means is the war between the Monte Kingdoms years ago before our time back when Jesus walked the Earth" Sir James explained
"and what of this sect?" James scoffs as he looked at her " Well your majesty they were the only Monte to have accepted Jesus's teachings and embraced God, It is said that the other montes went to war with them for spurning their gods. They escaped and as punishment God plunged the rest into a war that destroyed them" he said.
Lark nods her head fascinated by the history or story if it was true than her people had roots in this place 'God said this was the Farside perhaps the ground didn't break as it was back in Atmos, now that leads to another question why am I here?' she thought to herself. Seamus chuckling at the angry girl becoming curious he found it cute when she pondered instead of sneering at them as if this was beneath her.
