"Do you have a horse?" the question brought her out of her ponderings. Wind flowed past her hair as she looked up a James.

"No" was her answer 'This god didn't have the foresight to give me such a creature' she thought to herself.

"Siegmund you Teutonic Cyclops! Take Lark and get a horse before the Baron becomes brave!" he called out to the boat a Tall man golden haired man walks down the steps onto the dock he wore a cream colored gambeson, dark trousers and leather boots a single sword hung at his hip a well-trimmed beard adorned his face. True to his moniker he wore a black eyepatch over his left eye.

His single blue eye locked onto her violet eyes before he smiles "Well Little Sister come one theres a stable outside the city gates" Siegmund said patting her shoulder she turned to look at him head back into that town. "I am not going back into that cesspool" she says annoyed looking back at the older man

The older man Sighs "it's either that or you ride with one of us M'lady" he said with a mocking tone added to the end.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists turning to follow Siegmund into the city once more.

The gate was east of the square, a statue of a king with a sword in hand pointed to the sky. The street was well worn from traffic beyond up on a hill to the north stood the baron's castle a quaint little thing hardly big enough to call a castle. Lark followed behind the one-eyed man gathering looks from the locals the gate was large impressive for the port town guards patrolled along the cobble stone wall it was amazing they didn't fall the walkway as she could see it was narrow.

The stables were quaint, small enough horses grazed on hay as He walked up to the stable master.

"Sir knight what could do ya for?" the master asked

Cyclonis rolled her eyes as she walked out closer to the holding pen. The trees were a verdant green and swayed in the breeze. What caught her eye however, was what laid on a stone foundation right in a fork in the road. She recognized it or rather what it was supposed to be it looked ancient, but she could tell it was a Skimmer or what used to be one. Only the front remained its wings turned out to be used as signs.

'Odd' she thought to herself than it somewhat donned on her all of the squadrons she sent for recon they only ever found ruins never landing on the ground, the farside once was more advanced but something happened this war of the heavens they referred to.

Something nudged her arm. Jumping slightly she looked at a small white mare with bright blue eyes.

In her peripheral she sees Siegmund discuss with the stable master this portly man large with a greying beard.

She was too far to listen to what they were saying Siegmund looked over to her and pointed to the mare next to her handing the man a pouch of something.

The master barked an order and she saw the stable hand walking up to the small horse giving it a saddle and bridle leading it to the tall cyclops of a man.

The way back was uneventful though Lark had a very uneasy feeling about it. It was as if something was waiting.

She shook it off as they finally made it back to the boat the dark-skinned man Sula holding a small box to which she assumed was crystals.

"Send her to get a horse and she comes back with a dog" Seamus said smoking a pipe as she sat casually. Siegmund and Sula started to bark out a laugh. 'children they're children' she thought to herself walking up to the ramp into the boat

There was another man who walked past her she couldn't see any armor only a black tabard with a red cross. His face was covered by his helmet and metal mask that gave the appearance of a bearded man.

"that's Jehan of Orleans little sister you won't get much out of him" Siegmund said walking up the platform.

"oh this is quite the gaggle of fanatics you've gathered here" the voice gave a chill down her spine

'Of course,' she thought 'of course he would attempt it again' There stood the baron on the docks she couldn't even think of how he got there without them noticing.

What frightened her more was the fact he came with armed men along the dock.

"Baron we are very late and have already paid your tithe" James spoke in a authoritative tone as he walked up to meet the man.

"Not quite, you see my tithe has increased sort of speak, hand over the woman and I'll let you leave unharmed" the baron said with a false smile.

"Threatening the warriors of God, lusting over a Sister of christ, anymore infractions you wish to add against god M'lord" James spoke mocking him

The rest of the men were putting on helmets or drawing swords axes and hammers.

"You are outnumbered surely we can do this without bloodshed" The baron reasoned

"This is true but if your men had any Honor they would look the other way" came the retort

She could see the men behind the baron shift uneasily considering what he said. She hope this would work cursing herself for weakness but saw no other way to get out of the situation but hope these warriors could keep that foul man's hands off of her. She saw the Baron's face light up to a red angrily yelling at the much older man. 'Am I like this when I get angry' she thought to herself shuddering at the idea 'No I was justified my warriors would often fail they had to be punished' she reasoned but that didn't explain her outbursts after dealing with the Storm hawks she growled underneath her breath

Hating how this is what she appeared a spoiled brat of a leader

'though, unlike him I can back up my power' she thought to herself smiling inwardly.

Thunk! He heard a sound and the Baron grew quiet a gasp escaping his lips.

To her shock the man crumpled to the ground as she saw the suspect the spike at the end of a hammer thrusted into the back of his skull by Jehan. She watched the man fall into the water his body sinking beneath the waves.
