I gotta say that this is getting kinda fun, writing this fanfiction. at first, I assumed it'd be pretty boring to write things like this just because they weren't already on here, but i guess that i was wrong about that. this chapter of 'The Love Angel and the Dark-Hearted Devil' is worth a full two-thousand-one-hundred-twenty-two words of storyline, minus the headnote right here, the disclaimer that follows this headnote when it's done and the small comment from yours truly hidden within the storyline of this chapter, just as it was in the last chapter. i guess that i really should get to the disclaimer already.

disclamation: I don't own the 'Wedding Peach' anime or manga in any way, shape, or form. i don't even own any of the manga books or even the DVD's of the anime. I also don't know exactly to whom the series even belongs, but it sure ain't me. i am still but a humble writer of fanfictions like this one and of other types of stories.

It was just another day on the soccer field when the team was busy getting their practice in for the day. I suddenly began thinking about just what had gone on with the us all before practice. I had even flashed back to when I found out I had a secret admirer at the school, itself.

Within my flash back, the team was getting ready for yet another practice session when one of the guys came up to me with surprising news.

Soccer player #1: So, anyway, Yousuke, I heard around school that there's some girl who likes you.

Yours Truly: Really, now? Any idea who it is?

I did not want to seem ungrateful about it if it were anyone else, I just dared myself to hope that it was Momoko Hanasaki that liked me that way.

Soccer player #1: No. I actually can't say that I know exactly who it is.

That was when another fellow member of the soccer team came up to both of us as we spoke.

Soccer player #2: Oh, I heard about your secret admirer alright, Yousuke. I'm not sure who it is, either. So, I guess that it could be any girl in the seventh, eighth or even the ninth grade. Who knows, Yousuke? You might have just managed to attract the attention of an older woman.

The other member of the soccer team then began playfully poking me in the ribcage with his elbow.

Yours Truly: I would really appreciate it if you would stop doing that to my ribcage.

With that, my flashback finally came to an end, and I focused back on the practice match. That was just around when I had stopped the ball from making it past the goal for a second time in the practice match.

Yours Truly: Alright!

A little later the rest of the team was not doing as well as they could have been.

Yours Truly (continued): You're too slow! If you're gonna rush me, rush me!

With that kind of 'encouraging motivation' from me, the team suddenly began looking like they had finally gained some competence.

Just then I had kicked the ball away from the goal at top speed but sent it flying off of the field by mistake, and it wound up hitting someone in the face and knocking the person out cold.

Yours Truly (continued): Sorry! Sorry!

Just to my luck, I had hit none other than Momoko.

Yours Truly (continued): Oh my gosh. Hey, are you OK down there, Momo-pi?

Momoko looked a bit on the dazed side when I asked her if she was doing alright down on the ground, so the answer to that question of mine was clearly a big fat 'no'. She still managed to be capable of talking, though.

Momoko Hanasaki: I-I-I hate him, don't you see?

Of course, I was confused by what Momoko was talking about. I was also pretty worried about her, too.

Yours Truly: Momo-pi?

That was around when Momoko's friends, Yuri and Hinagiku, rushed towards her to see if she was OK, too. Hinagiku voiced her concern first.

Hinagiku Tamano: Are you sure you're feeling OK?

Then came Yuri's concern towards the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl that was still her friend.

Yuri Tanima: Momoko! Momoko!

The two of them both sounded pretty concerned for their friend, but Momoko would still not get up. I guess I had to try to get her up from being knocked out, too.

Yours Truly: Answer me! Answer me!

My reason for being as concerned as I was about Momoko, however, was purely because I would get suspended from soccer by the principal for carelessly kicking a ball in someone's face, and that was all there was to it. There was absolutely no other reason at all whatsoever.

When Momoko did finally wake up from being knocked out, however, she began to steam and violently chase me around like a maniac.

A little later, I was on my way home from school when I saw Momoko sitting on the grass near the river. Why was she even sitting there? Was she waiting for something or someone? Hold on a minute. Could she have been waiting for me at the time? I might as well have just asked her if that really were the case.

Yours Truly: Hey, Momo-pi!

With that, Momoko turned herself towards my direction.

Yours Truly (continued): Were you waiting for me or something?

Then, Momoko turned herself the back towards the river under the nearby bridge.

Momoko Hanasaki: Don't be ridiculous. Who would wait around for a guy like you?

With that, I slid down the grass and approached her.

Yours Truly: Then, what are you doing here when your house is back the other way?

Momoko suddenly sounded shocked by my question. Then judging by what she had said next, she sounded like she was trying to hide her shock.

Momoko Hanasaki: Hey, don't try to analyze me.

Then, she held out an envelope to me.

Momoko Hanasaki (continued): I was only waiting in this stupid place so I could give this to you and be on my way.

Upon inspecting the envelope closer, I could see that it clearly had a heart on it for a seal. Hang on a minute. Could the envelope have possibly been…

Yours Truly: Oh, is this a love letter?

Of course, Momoko had a response to giving me a love letter. The only thing about her response to having given me a love letter at all was that it was just slightly less than pleasant.

Momoko Hanasaki: That's right, genius.

I just could not resist teasing her for a bit over that love letter, though. So, that was just what I did. Granted that I had actually begun to find the fact that she had gotten all angry with me over it even more irresistible, but I was kind of hoping for her to have already started liking me in return.

Yours Truly: So, you really have fallen for me, haven't you?

After that kind of teasing from me, Momoko turned herself towards me once again, looking pretty shocked.

Momoko Hanasaki: What?! No way, José! Why in the world would a girl like me give a loser like you a love letter?

Then, she turned herself back towards the river and crossed her arms over her chest before continuing.

Momoko Hanasaki (continued): It's from Shizuka in Class-C… you know, the quiet girl in the back of the class?

Shizuka? Shizuka Kanamori? She was the girl in school from whom that love letter was?

Yours Truly: Shizuka?

So much for my hopes finally being fulfilled. Not that I had a crush on Momoko or anything like that, but why did Shizuka not hand me her love letter, herself? Surely, that poor, soon-to-be-heartbroken brunette girl realized that having Momoko give it to me instead would have sent the wrong message to me.

That was around when Momoko suddenly came up in my face to talk about Shizuka's love letter to me.

Momoko Hanasaki: That's right. And if you ask me, she's much too cute for a barbarian like you?

Oh, so I was a barbarian now, was I? Oh, it was so on. I could not spare Momoko my usual insult, now.

Yours Truly: Hey! You have no right to call me that, Momo-pi.

She did not look all that phased by the usual insult that time, though. Momoko even had her own response for it this time.

Momoko Hanasaki: Stop calling me 'Momo-pi', you loser.

So, I had to quit calling her 'Momo-pi' then, did I? I did not mind that one bit but by then, the gloves were really off.

Yours Truly: OK. How about 'dumpy, whiny baby'?

Needless to say about that unflattering nickname, Momoko looked more confused by it than she looked hurt.

Momoko Hanasaki: What? 'Dumpy, whiny baby'? What do you mean by that?

Yep, she was definitely more confused by that less than flattering term than she was hurt by it. It was no problem for me, at all. I was definitely up to the challenge of explaining even a matter as simple as it to a girl as hopelessly dense in the head as Momoko was.

It was only during my explanation of it to her that the two of us had begun arguing over it.

After our argument, Momoko grabbed her knapsack and began walking away.

Momoko Hanasaki: Oh, I'm fed up talking with you. I'm going home.

Wait a minute. She was heading in the same direction as my house was. I guess that Momoko did not live in the opposite direction, and she really was on her way to her own house, after all. Huh, what do you know? I could not believe that I had actually managed to be completely wrong about her life for once.

Still, I actually did think that it was pretty funny that Momoko really did live in the same direction as me because I was pretty sure that the last time I saw Momoko and her friends, Yuri and Hinagiku, head to a house they had headed in the opposite direction of my house. I guess the opposite direction of the way to my house was just the direction in which one of their houses were located that time.

Who knew? What if Momoko even lived in the same neighborhood as me.

Wait a minute. Momoko probably even lived in the same neighborhood as me. I had just had the biggest fantasy of my life come true at the time, it was so terrific, and it made me giddier than even a drunk.

Wait a minute. Momoko probably even lived in the same neighborhood as me. I had just had the worst nightmare of my life at the time, it was so awful, and it completely scared me stiff.

A/N: do you get it, my readers? it's when the good news is the same as the bad news.

I just stared at her for a minute or two when I started to feel something in my head and in my chest, but it was not love. In fact, it was not a form of like of any kind. I had felt like I was possessed by an evil spirit and had completely blacked out.

I woke up a little later, and I was already in my bed at home.

Yours Truly: Crap! I'd better write a reply to that Shizuka girl's love letter.

I was not going to say that I liked her back because I was not the type of guy who liked girls just because they liked me. I was just planning to write Shizuka a simple, yet polite reply.

My reply to Shizuka's letter: Shizuka,

Right now, soccer is my girlfriend but, uh, thanks!

-Yousuke.

I was not obligated to like Shizuka back just because she liked me. So, yeah. Of course, I was just going to say that soccer was my girlfriend at the time.

Yours Truly: Well, I guess the only thing left to do is to get a good night's rest, especially since I don't wanna be too tired to play in tomorrow's practice match.

With those words, I finally nodded off to sleep.

The following day, I had given Shizuka my reply to her love letter. I was flattered by her letter and all, but I just was not into her type. I actually liked my women with a little more spunk and attitude. Quiet, even-tempered-to-a-fault girls just did not do it for me.

Sure, some guys certainly liked the shy, well-mannered ones, but I was just not one of those guys.

On my way to school in the front yard, I had actually managed notice and hear Momoko laughing up a storm of chuckles about something or other and I did not even know why she would have been doing it. I suppose I just had to ask her why, even without calling her 'Momo-pi'.

Yours Truly: Why are you laughing like a dimwit so early in the morning, Momo-fish?

Then, she suddenly stopped laughing like a dimwit. Actually, Momoko had even stopped laughing altogether upon hearing what I had asked her. I had not lost my mojo, no siree. I had figured that Momoko thought I was dominating, but that thought of mine had almost immediately turned sour when she screamed out at me for it.

Momoko Hanasaki: What did you just call me? Who are you calling a dimwit? And 'Momo-fish'? What do you mean by 'Momo-fish'? Come back here!

That was when she had begun her pursuit of me in retaliation for the 'Momo-fish' comment. I guess it was even worse than 'Momo-pi', which I would soon thereafter had begun planning on going back to calling her from that time going forwards.
