another chapter of my first ever 'Wedding Peach' fanfiction titled 'The Love Angel and the Dark-Hearted Devil'. the title of the fanfiction may be a direct parody of the story of 'Beauty and the Beast', but the storyline of this fanfiction is purely the anime's plotline told solely from Yousuke Fuuma's point of view, as I'm fairly certain is very obvious from the precipice of this fanfiction's whole story first-person point of view. anyway, this chapter right here is a full one-thousand-seven-hundred-twenty-three words of pure storyline from the 'Wedding Peach' anime series. now for the obligatory disclaimer. that's right, people. the disclaimer is actually obligatory, especially if one wants to avoid copyright infringement on any of their fanfictions on this site.

disclamation: I don't own the 'Wedding Peach' anime or manga series in any way, shape, or form of any kind. I don't know who owns the series, but it certainly is not me. I'm but a humble fanfiction blogger on this website and an author of other types of stories on the Internet, specifically on websites such as WattPad. I don't know that I'll ever post this on WattPad, though, despite having done so for several of my fanfictions on here.

So, it was just another day at St. Hanazono Junior High School when I saw that one trio of girls from the school's newspaper club were asking a couple of guys just a few meters from me a question. Momoko was the one asking it, even.

Momoko Hanasaki: Hi there, boys. What kind of girls are you attracted to?

Boy #1: What kinda what?

I guess that she was not their type. Then, Yuri and Hinagiku both showed up to back up their friend's question.

Yuri Tanima: Sorry to get in your face like this, guys, but you are looking at the crack reporting team for the St. Hanazono campus newspaper.

Hinagiku Tamano: And we're doing a hard-hitting special investigative report on what kind of boys like, here at Hanazono. Would you mind submitting a few intrusive questions?

Boy #2: Well…

Boy #1: OK, sure.

Momoko leant forward towards the two of them and asked for their opinions of girls.

Momoko Hanasaki: Then, tell us, please. What kind of girls do you like?

Were the three of them from the so-called 'crack reporting team' kidding asking those two guys? They were only two of the shallowest guys in the whole school, and I meant it. Those two boneheads only ever cared about how their girls looked.

Boy #2: Let's see. I like one with light skin and long hair and chestnut eyes and cute lips and…

Boy #1: And most of all, she can't be fat.

Boy #2: Oh. Oh, yeah. Totally. She's gotta be slim and, and midgets and tall girls are out, too.

Boy #1: I like short girls.

Boy #2: Seriously?

Called it. The two inferior boneheads Momoko, Yuri and Hinagiku were interviewing for this kind of thing only ever cared about how their women looked.

I guess it was finally time to intervene with the newspaper trio's little survey.

Yours Truly: Are you being stupid, again?

Granted that I was asking that to all five of them who were present at the time, but Momoko was the only one who had managed to notice that I was even there, never mind respond to me about it.

Momoko Hanasaki: Yousuke!

I suppose that I had to explain this to both the newspaper club girls and to the guys they were interviewing. I used both my body and my voice to explain so.

Yours Truly: Fat. Short. Tall.

Then, I passed by them all and began speaking to the rest of them with only my voice.

Yours Truly (continued): Who the heck cares?

Momoko Hanasaki: Don't interfere with our reporting!

If that survey the newspaper club was running around questioning the guys at this school on was what they had called 'reporting', then they must have had even less brain power than the two boneheaded guys with whom Momoko Hanasaki, Yuri Tanima and Hinagiku Tamano had chosen to start their interviews on what girls were liked the best at St. Hanazono. I just chuckled a short one in disbelief before turning my head back towards them all.

Yours Truly: Lots of things can make a guy like a girl. Her looks don't have to be the most important thing, you know.

I quickly saw the look in Momoko's eyes and knew that she was suddenly interested in asking Captain Yanagiba, himself, what kind of girl he had liked. I had to do or even say something to take back at least some of that confidence. So, I turned myself around, pointed directly to Momoko and held up a teasing smile on my face.

Yours Truly (continued): But none of that counts for you.

Momoko just looked stunned before she bit me back.

Momoko Hanasaki: What makes me a special case?

I then grabbed her notebook out of her hand.

Yours Truly: Figure it out for yourself. You guys should stop printing this junk.

That was when I tossed Momoko's notebook back to her, though not before basically tearing the pages from it which included the survey all three of them from the newspaper club were running.

Yours Truly (continued): It ain't news.

Then, I turned myself around while Momoko, Yuri and Hinagiku suddenly began screaming at me in frustration. I bid them farewell thereafter.

Yours Truly (continued): Adios.

I suppose that I had at least managed to lecture it into their heads that a guy who picks his girlfriend based upon her looks and her looks alone was in no way worth fighting for.

The following morning, however, I had suddenly seen Momoko with Captain Yanagiba, and I had to say that she definitely looked as though she were feeling less than well in both the head and in the stomach.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: You aren't diabetic, are you?

Momoko Hanasaki: Oh, no way. Just my tummy_

Momoko was not able to finish what she was telling the captain, though, because it was not long before she had begun to faint… for a second time in a row, I should add. The captain felt sympathetic towards her anyway and bent down.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Does it hurt?

Momoko just shook her head when she responded back.

Momoko Hanasaki: No.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Then, what's wrong?

OK, that did it. It was finally time to run some interference since I already knew what it was, right away.

Yours Truly: She's faking it. This is an obvious attempt to get a little sympathy from a sports star by acting sick, Captain.

Then, Captain Yanagiba and Momoko both rose up from their positions on the ground, and Momoko had even begun yelling at me.

Momoko Hanasaki: You jerk. That's not it, at all.

Yours Truly: You see? She's alright, after all.

Of course, I already knew why she was looking a little sick, and I felt like it was also my civic duty as a member of the soccer team to inform the captain as to why, too.

Yours Truly (continued): If I had to guess, I'd say that she's trying to lose weight by starving herself. Isn't that right?

Momoko then turned her head in the other direction to hide the look on her face which seemed to ask me 'how did you know that?'. Honestly speaking, I could not say that I knew why I knew it, but it certainly helped with my mission to keep the captain away from a stalking girl like her.

That was when I suddenly heard a voice in my head say something about what I was doing.

Voice in my head: Yeah, right, it's your civic duty as a member of the soccer team to keep the captain away from that girl. You just don't want her to be claimed by anyone else, not even Captain Yanagiba, because you're completely sweet on Momoko Hanasaki.

My brain: Oh, what the heck is that supposed to mean, and who are you?

Voice in my head: Well, if you must know who I am right away, I'm your conscience, and what I mean by it is that you're totally in love with Momoko Hanasaki.

My brain: As if, my so-called 'conscience'.

My conscience: Oh, you can refuse to believe me all you want, but in the end, you know I'm telling the truth.

I did not have time to argue with a voice in my head claiming to be my 'conscience'. I had a schedule to keep and so did Captain Yanagiba.

Yours Truly (continued): Captain, you haven't got time to get involved here. You'll be late for the morning meeting if ya do. We'd better hurry.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Uh_

But I would not allow it and dragged Captain Yanagiba away from Momoko. Take note; I was dragging the captain away from that girl purely for the sake of the soccer team's meeting that morning. Do not mistake it for me wanting that Momoko girl for myself eventually. This was purely for the sake of soccer strategies and nothing else besides it.

Momoko still called out to the captain, though.

Momoko Hanasaki: Uh… Captain Yanagiba!

But I just wanted the captain and Momoko to ignore one another. It was not because I was secretly jealous of Captain Yanagiba's popularity with the girls or anything like what my self-proclaimed 'conscience' had said. It was purely for the sake of the soccer team's matches.

That afternoon on the soccer field, I was not doing so well as the team's backup goalie. Just a few days prior to that day, the guys on the team were slower than even an amoeba when it had come to scoring any goals at all against me. The day that I had my most recent encounter with the cherry-blossom-pink-haired girl named Momoko Hanasaki, however, it was quite a one-eighty from just those few days prior.

Soccer player #1: Hey, Yousuke, what's a matter with you?

Soccer player #2: Yeah! You're failing at stopping the balls from making it to the goal left and right.

Captain Yanagiba came to my rescue, though, just by calling a timeout on the team's practice.

Captain Kazuya Yanagiba: Relax, everyone. I'm sure that it's nothing that a short break from practice won't solve for you, Yousuke.

Yours Truly: Thanks, captain. Never thought I'd actually long for a break from soccer. I guess that I just need to clear my head a bit.

It was a slight fib, but I really did need to clear my head for a bit. I would have, however, needed a much longer break than just a few minutes if I had wanted that to happen. For one reason or another, the rest of the day until the following day after school had suddenly begun to sound like a good range of time to start with for exactly how long I had needed to clear my head.

This was just great! The entire morning meeting and that afternoon's soccer practice were both screwed up for me thanks to what my so-called 'conscience' had told me regarding that Momoko. I just had to get those kinds of thoughts out of my head.
