It was supposed to be the biggest day of Maddie's life. She was going to marry who she considered her true love: Rodger Esquire Kudo III. This was supposed to be her happily ever after. But did she really want this?

"I still can't believe he's so persistent on inviting Hana," Maddie said to herself. "I told him no constant times." Maddie posted her update involving the wedding, including what time it'll be and so on.

"Princess Maddie?" One of her attendants called, "The wedding is about to start."

"I'll be there, I just got an update set up" Maddie said happily

The attendant smiled. "You look gorgeous, your highness."

"Thank you" Maddie said, nervous "I just hope things go well…. I already asked my dad to not let Hana in the castle"

Meanwhile, her familiar Grim was already eating the fancy tuna provided for the reception.

"This stuff is good!" He chirped, munching on it like no tomorrow.

But it didn't take long for him to see someone in the audience, someone uninvited no less.

"That's weird…I thought Hana was blacklisted from this wedding…"

His eyes widened, realizing what's going on.

"MADDIE!" He screeched, rushing to go find her.

During all this, Maddie had some final touches to add…. At least until Grim barged in. "Grim I thought I asked you to—"

"Hana's here!" Grim said, panting. "Rodger invited Hana behind your back!"

"What!?" Maddie rushed to see if Grim was telling the truth.

The audience was in awe with how Maddie looked, but they knew something was off.

And there was, because Hana was sitting right in the second row.

The moment Maddie saw this, she was NOT happy "Are you serious Rodger!?"

Rodger sighed dramatically, he would do this to try and feign guilt.

"I'm sorry Maddie-poo…" he said.

Maddie for once snapped. The audience could only watch as she chewed out her fiancé. "No…. No you're fucking not! I told you not to invite Hana how many times now?!"

"Seven…?" He answered, lowering his head.

"And I found THIS on his phone!" Grin stated, holding up a conversation where he said some pretty nasty things about her.

Upon seeing this…. If a Good Bridezilla was a thing, Maddie has now…. Lost. It. "Are you fucking serious right now!?"

Rodger tried to reach for his phone, but Grim held it up! He took screenshots and air dropped everything. The conversation where he invited Hana, the conversation where Fen ratted him out for talking shit to her about his own fiancée, it was all there.

Maddie kept what little cool she had left. "You were talking shit too!?" Maddie tried her best not to cry "What the absolute fuck is wrong with you"

"Well you shouldn't have been mean to me!" Kudo whined.

"What?!" Maddie said, her face completely cracked as she took the ring off her finger."I'm fucking done. The wedding is off! We are through! Get the fuck out of here before I get the guards to throw you and your poor excuse of a friend out."

Rodger could only watch in sorrow and rage as Maddie ran off to her room.

Once Maddie was in her room, she broke down sobbing. Mascara dripped down her face as Grim was snuggled into her.

"I'm sorry Maddie…I didn't wanna ruin this for you, but I didn't know when else to let ya know."

Maddie smiles and pets Grim "No…. It's fine…" Maddie said, still crying. "You basically saved me from an abusive relationship I was just about to get married into. Thank you so much Grim" Maddie hugged her feline friend.

Grim helped Maddie touch up her face in the meantime.

It didn't take long for the news of Maddie and Rodger's wedding fiasco to spread all over Magicam.

And her best friend Fen happened to catch wind on her way home from work.

"Hey, can we make a pit stop at the castle?" She asked her limo driver.

"Right now?" The driver asked curiously. "The wedding should have ended by now."

"Oh it ended alright," She informed him. "Obviously don't check Magicam while driving, but shit went down!"

The driver's eyes widened, changing route almost immediately. "Say no more."

Maddie was now apologizing to the guests she actually invited, knowing they didn't come to see the wedding become a shit show.

"I'm sure everyone here forgives you." One guest said.

"You didn't know this would happen." Another piped up.

Maddie smiled a little. "I'm just glad Grim said something sooner," she admitted. "If it weren't for him, I would have gotten into an abusive marriage just waiting to happen."

"Hey no way! Is that Fen Park's limo?!" A third guest pointed out.

Maddie smiled, happy her friend came.

"Maddie!" Fen shouted, rushing to glomp her best friend. "Oh, I'm so sorry about what happened!"

"Don't worry." Maddie said. "Besides, I'm just happy I got out of it."

"Oh yeah definitely, bullet dodged." Fen sighed in relief.

"More like nuke dodged." Maddie joked.

The two laughed for a bit.

"I still have some food left around and some cake, you're more than welcome to take any." Maddie offered. "Well… Anything but the tuna."

"That's fine," Fen smiled fondly. "So now that the wedding's off, what are you going to do from here?"

"Actually I have full rides to both Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College." Maddie said. "But I might plan on going to RSA—"

"Homie you gotta go to Night Raven with me!" Fen chirped, her tail wagging at an upbeat pace. "A lot of the guys there are super hot, so you could find someone new in no time!"

"Maybe" Maddie said "Plus odds are Rodger's gonna be at RSA…. So I don't see why not."

"Yay! I can't wait!"

Maddie then realized Grim could miss her if she left. "Question, are familiars allowed?"

"Yep!" Fen answered.

"In that case," Maddie said before calling Grim. "Grim! Pack your shit! We're going to NRC!"

"AIGHT BET!" Grim said excitedly.

Maddie giggled before getting everything ready and letting her fans know.

It wasn't the day she initially anticipated, but it still was a day that changed her life forever!
