Just got to Season 2 of TVD and it is getting interesting and I find Katherine more compelling than Elena, speaking of her, *Sighs*. Nina Dobrev is a great actress and she is fine in real life and was fine in the things I've seen her outside of TVD, so it sucks she played such a terrible character and don't blame her for leaving the show later.
I frankly find the show poor man's Buffyverse and I think I'm going to drop it after I finish Season 3 and watch The Originals, since Damon, don't get me started on him, since he's just a time bomb waiting to go off and Stefan and Caroline are better off with each other than Stefan with Elena and Caroline with Tyler, Elena, she just overreacts or mistreats others and gets free pass for her crap. The basic impressions I got is Elena being the worst of Buffy and Dawn in one package, Stefan is Angel and I heard he gets better after moving on from Elena to Caroline, who is like Cordelia and Bonnie is like Willow, Matt is the worst of Xander and Riley, Damon is soulless Spike and Liz, well, a better equivalent would be to Supernatural, where she is Jody, both sheriffs of their respective towns regularly dealing with supernatural cases, except that unlike Jody, Liz learns about supernatural much later.
Partly inspired by Stand with Ward and Queen's 'Amy Pond deals with a doppelganger'. No specific timeline established here but for the sake of the story Cordelia is still around, since, screw you, Joss Whedon.
Disclaimer: I do not own Buffyverse or The Vampire Diaries.
Usually, Cordelia would be wary of Angel's vampire acquaintances, considering the likes of Spike, Darla, Drusilla or Penn for example, but she was growing to like Stefan, since he and Angel seemed to share a lot of similarities, such as being good-natured vampires most of the time, if broody and apparently, Stefan's kind of vampires had an evil Ripper side, which would happen if they have turned their humanity off and become emotionless beastly aggressive monsters, which reminded Cordelia of Angelus, if Angel ever lost his soul again.
If anything, she was growing to like Stefan, but what was annoying her was who was tagging along with him, his on-and-off girlfriend Elena, who was torn between Stefan and his brother Damon, who reminded Cordelia of soulless Spike and Angelus and the more Elena was talking, the more annoyed Cordelia was becoming, since that was reminding her too much of her high school self and her peers like Harmony and other shallow girls like who Cordelia used to be, even though Angel seemed to be oblivious to Elena's advances as he was researching some demons with Wesley.
"So you can't turn your humanity off but you can lose your soul and become evil like Damon?" Elena asked.
"If I experience a moment of true happiness." Angel said, not seeming to notice how Elena was eying him and Cordelia's glare became fiercer as Elena's lips curved into a smile and then shot her next question.
"So, there hasn't been a girl in your life anymore who would—"
"After Buffy, I'm careful about that." Angel said, half-paying attention.
"Better to take it slow than rush into it with a broody vampire who is fascinated by you for weeks before approaching you." Cordelia said in her usual snippy tone.
Angel had gotten used to Cordelia's remarks regarding his fascination with Buffy, so that didn't faze him but it was clear it wasn't aimed at him or his relationship with Buffy.
"Excuse me?" Elena demanded, glaring as she whirled on Cordelia. "Who are you to—"
"Who am I to judge?" Cordelia finished as she stepped closer to Elena, who actually felt herself shrink under Cordelia's glare and Angel and Wesley then looked up from their books towards Cordelia and tensed upon seeing her look and Angel was measuring the distance to the door, while Wesley was thinking he just needed to outrun Angel. "I'm Cordelia Chase. I'm the nastiest girl in Sunnydale history. And you are going to take your eyes off my boyfriend, if you know what's good for you." She punctured each word with a tap on Elena's chest. "Hands. Off. My. Boyfriend."
Elena winced but quickly regained her bravado, since she had already gotten used to this attitude from Caroline. But before she could shoot back with her own witty remark, suddenly a pile of books shifted from the shelf above Elena and fell down on her as they hit her head as she yelped and fell down on the floor, unconscious.
"What happened?" Stefan asked as he approached, hearing the commotion and seeing Elena knocked out on the ground.
"The shelf's a bit wobbly, don't worry about it, she'll walk it off." Cordelia said with a smirk as Angel and Wesley and Stefan looked perplexed, wondering what had just happened before Cordelia looked up and mouthed 'Thank you, Dennis.'
And Cordelia Chase and Dennis Pearson for the win. As much as I love her, I haven't written a lot of stories where, well, Cordy is Cordy, so I hope I made her witticisms accurate to her personality and I hope you enjoyed her taking Elena down few pegs.
Two seasons of TVD and I began to dislike Elena halfway to the first season, really, she's just bland and the worst of Buffy and Dawn in one package but at least she isn't as bland as Bella Swan, which isn't really a high bar, so I do enjoy when she gets taken down few pegs.
Please review and let me know if you have enjoyed this one-shot.
