Miraculously Tangled Ever After
Author's Note: Hello again beautiful readers, and Happy Valentine's Day. I assume all of you are here from Miraculously Tangled, and I can't wait to present you this. I actually had to go back and re-watch that short bonus so that I can match the vibe for this wedding AU. "May death do Adrienette part." Now enough with my rambling. On with the wedding!

The camera zooms into the woods again. The familiar tree came into view, but rather than a wanted poster of Ladybug, it's a flier of Adrien and Marinette's wedding.
"This is the story of the day my life ended."
"Marinette,"
"I'm kidding! It was the happiest day of my life: Our wedding day. The biggest event to ever occur in the kingdom, next to prince Adrien returning. Everyone was dying to get a glimpse at me, the future princess…and Adrien of course."
"Everything was perfect, just like I always dreamed it would be."
Everyone was preparing for the big day. Flowers and banners decorated the kingdoms and village once more. Vendors made wedding-themed merchandise, increasing their sales, with one baker making white and purple macaroons for the occasion. Castle staff set up tables and silverware, the tablecloths and napkins embroidered with the butterfly symbol. A large royal carriage stood outside the castle grounds, decorated with purple white, and gold flowers and feathers.
A large flier of the betrothed couple was hung from between the village gates, high enough for the whole kingdom to see. Adrien was depicted perfectly… while Marinette's nose was still wrong and her hair now looked like Lila's mane on a bad hair day.
"Oh, come on. They still can't get my features right."
"It was a miraculous day, and everything went just to plan."
"Well, almost everything."
Guests filled the ceremonial room and the castle grounds of the Agreste palace, with everyone chatting excitedly for the ceremony. Captain Hardrock sat at a grand piano, playing a wedding melody. Queen Emilia sat at the front row, adjourned in a purple gown and silver jewelry, smiling joyfully. Ticki flew down the aisle tossing flowers and feathers from a little basket, while Lila, who now wore a golden saddle and bridle, trotted through proudly, carrying the rings on a plush pillow.
Marinette stood at the altar with the priest, clamping her hands behind her back as she tried to keep her nerves down. She now wore a white tuxedo and pants with golden laces, a red sash bearing the butterfly insignia sat across her chest. Her hair tied back in a bun pinned with a golden butterfly barrette. She still wore the ladybug earrings, along with a set of stud pearls. Why is Marinette playing the groom's role, you may wonder? Well, let's just say it's not a traditional wedding.
Marinette then gasped, turning her attention to the back of the room. The crowd all turned their heads and gasped as well.
There, at the end of the aisle, was the Agreste prince. Adrien wore a satin white dress that stretched to the floor, a long white veil attached to his green-jeweled crown. Golden butterflies patterned the seams of his dress and he held a bouquet of flowers and feathers in one hand, smiling happily at the crowd. He stood both nervous and excited, arm linked with his father.
King Gabriel wore the finest royal garments, a golden crown with purple jewels on his head. He smiled proudly at his son, his blue-gray eyes having the kind of sparkle that hasn't been there since forever.
Captain Hardrock waved a signal at Guitar Villain, and the two began to play "Here comes the Bride" while the crowd watched the prince and the king walk down the aisle.
"Wow," the priest said in awe.
"Wow," exclaimed Marinette, amazed by how breathtaking her lover looks.
"Meow," Marinette looked down to see Plagg, who curled himself in between about-to-be-princess's legs.
As Adrien neared the altar, King Gabriel gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder before going to sit down with the queen, the two shooting each other a look of pride.
Marinette grinned at Adrien, with the prince smiling nervously back as he took his place next to her. Plagg moved over to Adrien and curled in between his legs, purring.
The priest opened a Bible and began the speech. "Marriage. Marriage is what brings us together today. This blessed arrangement, that dream within a dream…"
As the priest continued, a flower fell out of Ticki's basket and flew into Lila's nostril. With a twitch and small snort, Lila sneezed, causing the rings to go flying through the air and roll out the back door.
Oh no.
Lila and Ticki looked at each other. What were they supposed to do!?
"..They shall live their lives together in forever lasting harmony." the priest concluded. "Do you have the rings?"
Everyone gasped when they saw the rings were gone.
"Those were my grandmother's wedding rings!" cried Queen Emilia.
"The kingdom is lost!" a guard shouted in panic.
Everyone began to panic and scream.
The castle explodes, along with the kingdom.
"..had their roots in love and friendship.."
The priest brought Lila and Ticki back to reality.
"We have got to get those rings back," Ticki whispers in Lila's ear, to which the mare nods in agreement.
Marinette looks over at them, raising an eyebrow.
Lila quickly smiles innocently and Ticki holds a thumbs up, as if they didn't just lose the wedding rings.
With a shrug, Marinette directs her attention back to the priest.
Subtly, Lila and Ticki back away to the door at the back of the ceremonial room, and dashed after the runaway rings. The rings roll all the way to the edge of the castle balcony, and roll off in opposite directions. Lila and Ticki look where the rings drop, and with a knowing nod to each other, hurry after each ring separately.
The ring Ticki chased bounced on one of the banquet tables and into a pot of soup. Ticki dived in, grabbing the ring in her mitts. But as she pops her head out of the pot, a maid spotted her, and let out a startled shout, startling Ticki out of the soup pot and quickly flying left and right to keep up with the escaping ring, dodging others who tried to grab her as she flew. She caught the ring just as she phased through an ice sculpture shaped like the marrying couple, but had to pause as she got stuck halfway through the ice.
(Meanwhile)
Lila galloped after the other ring, crashing through several carts selling hats, tuxedos, and bow ties. Lila now looks like a disguised gentleman, with a black fedora on her head, a blue bow tie around her neck, and a white and black tuxedo around her middle.
Another mare notices Lila, and blinks her eyelashes flirtingly, to which Lila shoves the mare out of the way and proceeds after the ring, which stops under a cart of apples. Lila stares hungrily at the apples, then quickly snaps her attention back to the ring, trying to reach it.
But just then, Ticki gets herself free from the ice sculpture and startles a man passing back, who crashes into the table the ice sculpture was on. The sculpture goes flying through the air, and lands on one side of a wagon - which Lila happened to be sitting on as she got the ring back, sending the mare into the air and losing the ring again.
(Back in the ceremonial room)
"..that love, true love, will follow you forever…"
Everyone's attention was on the priest, who was only halfway through the wedding speech, so no one saw a flying Lila pass by the large glass windows and crash into the wedding carriage. Seeing the ring roll away, Lila got the carriage moving after rode after the ring.
(In the meantime)
Ticki flew after the other ring down the pavement. The ring bounces up and attaches itself to a little boy's lantern. Up close, it was the same boy who gave Adrien a flower during the prince's return celebration. The boy was startled by this action and accidentally lets go of the lantern, which floats away in the air. Ticki flew after the lantern, turning a corner.. And sighs in annoyance.
A few villagers were keeping dozens of floating lanterns down with a large net. The ring could be in any of those lanterns.
"Oh great," the ladybug kwami grumbles to herself.
Could this get any worse?
Over again with Lila, the mare paced the carriage till it was in line with the ring, and stretching out her neck, she snatched the ring back with her teeth.
However, up ahead, a line of villagers were holding swords with the butterfly symbol ingrained on the hilt. Lila had to duck her neck under and sideways to avoid being hit by the swords, but the last one managed to hit Lila square in the snout, as well as snag off some hairs from her mane. The sound of the sword vibrated through the air.
"That must be the signal!" a villager exclaimed. He turned towards his helpers. "Release the pigeons! Release the lanterns!"
Ticki flew from lantern to lantern, looking for the ring. "Not this one, not here, oh, where is it?" the kwami muttered to herself. "Aha!"
She sees the lantern with the ring attached it's hook. She grabbed the ring and looked down, wondering where Lila was and if she had retrieved the other ring.
Lila recovered from the hit and smiled as she held the ring with one hoof. Suddenly, the carriage reaches the end of the street, which is high above the village, and Lila goes flying again in the air, floating by Ticki for a second, who blinks in confusion. Then a crowd of pigeons flew by Ticki, making her dizzy and causing her to drop the ring. The ring bounces off a water fountain, rolls across a banner, hits the hook of pulley line, and miraculously lands around a pigeon's leg.
The impact causes the hook to unhook, and for the pulley rope to snap, making dozens of barrels smash open and a flood of wine to start flowing down the street.
Meanwhile Lila crashes into the flier of the marrying couple, slides down, and hits the pavement with a thud. Thankfully, she kept the ring safe between her teeth. The mare's eyes then widen as she sees the incoming wave of wine flowing quickly towards her. Lila quickly gets up and gallops away from the chasing wine wave, grabbing Ticki's attention along the way, who flew down as her dizziness fades away, the kwami noticing the wine flood not far behind them and flying after Lila. The ladybug kwami then noticed the pigeon with the ring still attached to its leg. She didn't want to do this out in the open like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Lucky Charm!" bright red and pink sparkles surrounded Ticki, and yoyo appeared in Ticki's mitts. She swung the yoyo around the pigeon's leg, pulling herself towards the bird and snatching the ring back from its leg in one singular motion. The bird cooed in confusion before flying away.
Ticki's eyes then widened as she saw Lila nearing the edge of the pathway and needing to jump once more. With a quick plan, Ticki swung the yoyo at the mare, Lila grabbing the solid part with her teeth as she took a leap of faith over the edge. Ticki spun the yoyo with her magical strength, making Lila soar in the opposite direction, before crashing through the roof of an oil shop.
(Back at the wedding)
"..in everlasting peace." The priest finally concluded his speech. "May I have the rings?"
Adrien and Marinette gasped.
Lila and Ticki were covered in oil and dirt, but the rings lay undamaged on a plush pillow, which Lila held between her teeth once again. The two of them simply grinned as Lila watched over to the altar, and held out the plush pillow with the rings.
Slowly, Marinette picked up the rings and placed one on her finger and the other on Adrien's finger.
The priest cleared his throat as he claimed, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
With that, Marinette tipped Adrien down and kissed him with every ounce of passion she had, the prince returning the kiss.
The audience erupted in applause and cheer, tossing confetti in the air in celebration of the newlywed Gabriel and Queen Emilia hugged each other, both extremely proud and happy for their son. The twin girls that braided Adrien's hair, back when it was long and golden, jumped in joy. All the pub people back from The Miracle Box hive-fived and praised Adrien and Marinette's names. Even Alya and Chloe clapped for newlyweds, with Alya shedding a tear, the guard watching over them raising an eyebrow in bewilderment.
Adrien turned around and tossed the bouquet of flowers and feathers at the crowd, with Stoneheart catching it, who looked over at Mylene with a grin.
Lila and Ticki looked at each other with a knowing smile.
"We did it!" Ticki exclaimed in relief.
Lila whinnied in agreement. But as she sat down, something moved. The table holding the wedding cake began to roll away.
"Now who wants cake?" Adrien asked.
Lila and Ticki exchanged looks.
"Oh dear."
The End
