Chapter 3
Looks Like
Hope After All
The group all looked at one another and then back to Lucy before speaking. "What can the DEO do? I thought they were basically out of business at the moment." Sara asked curiously.
Lucy nodded. "That's true, on Earth at least. As we have a base that's on the other side of the Moon very few know about and I'm the Director of it."
Which had been something that had happened several years ago after Kara's first year being Supergirl had come to a close. Lucy had been uniquely suited for the position after she and J'onn both had been made Co-Directors of the DEO and while he was essentially the Public face more or less, she was the one who worked in the dark behind the scenes. But did so off Planet with only J'onn and a select few other individuals having any idea about where she was and what it was she was doing. Namely, running a DEO base on the other side of the Moon and keeping an eye out on things from that vantage point. Along with a few other things as well. "You have a Ship that can help us get out there and find our friends, don't you?" Ray asked in realization.
Causing Lucy to smile at him. "Give the man a Cigar! So far we only have one as its been in development for some time now and is a combination of Human and various Alien Tech that's come across our laps over the years."
"And you're just… Giving it to us? There has to be a catch somewhere." Reasoned Zari suspiciously and gained several nods of agreement.
Lucy merely shrugged. "You and the rest of 'Team Legends' are the only ones suitable enough for something like this as everyone else is too occupied with other matters to be able to go off into Outer Space on a Rescue Mission."
Blunt as that may be, it was the truth and Sara could appreciate that. "Then lets get a move on then, the longer our friends don't have to wait for us, the better."
"You will need at least 48 hours to familiarize yourselves with the Ship and if you'll want additional crew members." Warned Lucy and Sara felt that was reasonable enough.
Even if she didn't like the prospect of having to wait a little longer. "One question though." Ray said, causing everyone to look his way.
"Can we name it the 'Waverider II'?"
Looks and snorts of amusement came his way as Lucy nodded. "Sure, that sounds fine."
"Only you, Ray." Wally told him with a chuckle and the former CEO shrugged with a somewhat bashful smile.
"Well, Nate's not here at the moment so someone had to do it. And besides, its only right to call it that but hopefully we'll be able to get the original here fixed up and back into action."
"Agreed." Sara said whole heartedly and then thought of something.
"By the way, did anyone figure out who shot me out of the sky that day? Because I would really like to have a word with them."
