Rin POV

Since the end of the holy grail war, the situation is chaotic, the church and the association sent representatives to deal with the collateral damage and evaluate the result, Rin started to sell and liquidate all her assets, which was seen suspiciously by the clock tower.

Usually, reports about how Shirou, a third rate magic user, somehow defeated the strongest heroic spirit on single duel would be out of possibility, since not only it would make her a laughing stock, but any mention of his reality marble could end with him easily hunted on a sealing designation.

Still, due to his current situation, impossibility of return, at least on short term and without Zelretch intervention, she decided it would be safe to make a full report, the only one that would get in trouble would be someone that would never return to that universe, so why keep the secret? If she could just put all the blame on him, and give a decent explanation for the events? It's not cruel, it´s pragmatic. Somewhere on M30, Shirou sneezes out of nowhere, feeling something ominous.

The envoys of clock tower become intrigued, on her cleaning up, Rin manage to rescue a near dead Bazett Fraga, after heal her wounds, she give a place to stay to the crippled magus, her job as enforcer could be as good as forfeit, and now she had no place to be, yet, she helped Rin still, with her contacts. Finding the story of how the war ended, and how her servant Lancer saved Rin´s life was at least amusing.

The young prodigy magus had bags in her eyes, the last 3 days she spent without sleep properly, and had Taiga, Sakura and Issei working without stop too, she only slept briefly, after Saber insisted, they had to recover from the war still, and keep a eye on a certain "idiot" that was having adventures on the hell-universe.

Back on the M30

Shirou and Burk have a breakfast made by Mara, bread with some kind of jelly and a drink that reminds of coffee, they call it recaff, besides that he taste a food called Gantha-root rollups, for some reason, he decides not ask what it is, just eat praising ignorance.

"So... Shirou what you plan to do from now on?" Burk asks.

"I need money, currency of some type, and a way to fend for myself, I can´t leech you two forever. I'm thankful for everything you two did for me." Shirou says.

"How mature and responsible of you, if you were not a little runt midget i´d take it seriously, you will stay with us until you are old enough to fend for yourself kiddo. No negotiations." Burk says.

"... I ... Thanks . Then I guess, all I need is a safe place to store something..." Shirou says thoughtful things.

"A place huh... Well... Actually I might know a place, we will talk about it later. You are going with me to the city, we are going to buy some fertilizer. It will be Imperial territory, so it will be safe, it's a civilized place. He might be another warlord like the others, but when he calls the others techno barbarians, he is mostly right, most of them only have technology and brutality, they can´t be called "civilized" at all." Says Burk as they walk and enter the truck.

Shirou start to inspect both supply bags he took from the Udug Hul, something he had not time to do before, as he does it, the old man turn on the truck, after kiss his wife through the window, and drive to the road, they cross a wheat field, or at least something that sounds like wheat. He noticed some devices he did not know inside the bags, and whispered.

"Trace... On! Analisis complete."

He understands that there are some sort of computer system, unlike with swords and close tools like weapons and protection, he can't get the history of utility objects, he knows it is some sort of computer with a few access ports and sensors, and has a communications array. Besides that he finds "vox" communicators and a basic survival kit with some medicines. While scanning the electronics, he noticed that the computers are turned on, and transmitting a signal.

"Wait a minute, what the..." Shirou says, or almost.

The back of the truck is lifted on the air, eventually the entire truck is suspended, Burk panics and look to the sides, eventually they see the small female Udug Hul, Sarah, the "psyker" floating in the air with purple shining eyes and purple aura, she is floating in the air, coming from the sky, gritting her teeth and with a angry expression

"...Finally I found you, slippery brat!" Sarah says.

" , hold on!" Shirou says in panic, he can't do much about that situation.

She throws the Truck on the grass on the side of the road, the truck flipped and got sideways, Shirou and Burke leave the truck to see the woman floating enraged in the air, she grabs the boy and the old man with the power of her mind lifting both of them in the air.

"He has nothing to do with this, I just got a ride with him." Says Shirou still in panic.

"Leave the kid! Have you not enough slaves on Akkad? Hell, how many orphans Akkad needs to exploit to be satisfied? You are one of them, aren't you a little girl?" Says Burke with a firm voice, even as he is completely defenseless on her grip.

"You know nothing Old Man... Even as a slave, i´m still a proud warrior of Akkad, i still" Sarah seems to flinch with his words, releasing for a second her grip, both of them fall on the ground, Burk start to run screaming.

"Run brat! Run!" Says Burke as he starts to flee.

"You used this to find me right? Good." Says Shirou.

But Shirou had another idea: he picked the computers from the bags, and showed them to her, removing the batteries from them. Then he makes a "finger gun" pointing his finger at her. Suddenly, 5 black keys materialize and shoot her. For a second she thinks she has to defend herself or she will die. She makes a small barrier around her body, like a second skin, to protect from the damage and crosses her arms protecting her vitals, but the swords purposely miss.

"Trace on... Release consecutive fire!"

"See you!" Shirou says as he goes to the truck, the old man looks at him puzzled, he suddenly reinforces his body, having it covered with shining green lines, he suddenly flips the truck again and gets inside.

"Old man! Drive!" Shirou scream

"Alright ! Alright!" The old man entered the truck running and drove at high speeds out of there.

Sarah is furious, she can't move her body, the kid made swords appear out of nowhere, another bizarre phenomena, she thought she would die, but suddenly, she is immobilized, she has no idea how or why, she just can't move her body. She doesn't know that the black keys, stabbed her shadow on the road, once Shirou is far enough from her, he dismiss the swords, that vanish, releasing the enraged psyker, on her rage, she scream, causing a explosion on the road, could be worse, a enraged psyker is something dangerous.

"Brat... Can you tell me what was that? Are you a friggin psyker kiddo?" Burke says with an angry voice.

"Sorry, gramps, not psyker, something else... Tried to tell them, they don't listen, want to take me somewhere and I'm not into being vivisection, brainwashed or killed." Says Shirou with a serious look.

"You have been weird since I first met you, but you keep being full of surprises... So you used magic spooky stuff to fix the truck?" Ask Burk

"The name is Magecraft, do not use this "warp thing" before you ask, it uses my own body energy and the energy of nature, from the world, there's no life force in space for example, I probably would not have much energy in space." Shirou points to the sky. " I´m good... With swords, but my magic extends to tools, and machines overall... It's just weaker and less effective."

"I see... Then I think I have a proposal for you..." Burk seems to be pondering something.

"Anything in mind?" Shirou looks at him suspiciously.

"I have a small transporter ship in the garage... It's my grandpa's, he used it to come to Terra. It worked for a long time, but the last engineer died and my father had limits on how much he knew how to fix, or had the tools for it." Burk says, it seems he is reminiscing.

"So you want me to fix the small ship? I can do that, I owe you at least that..." Shirou says and smiles, it's not like he would refuse to help, fix things for others, is his life after all.

"If... If you fix my transporter, my grandfather´s fleet, i know where it is... Someone might have found it or something but... Maybe not, it was well hidden on an asteroid field, I have the coordinates. And if any of the ships can be restored, I have skills as a helmsman, and I know how to get a crew... I heard that the warp storms are slowly becoming calm... We... Could leave this shit hole and go to a better place. And at least, I can take my son back..." Burk mumbled the last part of what he said, but Shirou still heard it.

"Your son? What happened to your son?" Shirou asks.

"...My grandfather did everything to preserve the crew of the fleet, every time they got too old, he had them teach several successors, and have their successors take the place, some accidents, some desertions and such, and we lost that. But, my father always taught me everything a captain needs to know, and how to steer and navigate the ship, as much as possible... I taught my son everything I know. All generations in our family, the father teaches the son everything, and he takes over the control of the ship. Lately, the maintenance too. My son took one of the two transporters we had to work on the Battleship... But something went wrong, I don´t know details, the communication was disrupted, but he was forced to put himself on a stasis field to survive, probably a hull breach, a leak of atmosphere, don´t know." Burk says, looking at the road reminiscing.

" I see, we can rescue him, that´ s already a good reason to go but, without a Navigator..." Shirou says.

"Yes, the big ships are massive and the space is vast. To operate, we would need a large crew and a navigator, but if I have my son... Even without a navigator, it is possible to navigate slow distances and do short jumps to closer colonies, still go further than any did in the last decades, and I can even without the ship cogitators, navigate by instruments inside the sol system... If I can get the bulk of a crew, and rescue my son, if you can help the mechanics fix the damage my grandfather was unable to fix, with your magic... Most of the ships might be working, they are made to be tough, and most of the things my grandfather solved. It's just the gellar field and the warp drive. If you save my son, and return my grandfather ship to me, the fleet is yours. What do you think?" Burk says hopeful.

"I... Don´t know, depending on how big and advanced this warp drive, i never failed to fix things but, i never fixed something like that, but i can try... But despite that, we can get your son, with or without the rest of the deal..." Shirou says, remembering how Archer timeline had him selling his soul to Alaya, for the power to fix a nuclear reactor about to go into meltdown, even his projection has limits.

The rest of the travel is uneventful, they used another route to return, without the tracking from the computers, they seemed to have evaded the Udug Huls, for now, as they return to the farm, Burke hugs his wife, and asks a moment to Shirou, going to speak with her in private, Shirou can hear Burk wife crying, and leaving with him the room, hugging her son portrait, she is crying, but smiling, the idea of see their son again.

They spend the rest of the day in the garage, once the ship is restored, Burk picks a vox and starts to communicate with someone in the city, as he starts to load the ship with supplies and equipment.

"Kiddo, get your spooky magic ready, i´m calling some favors, we are going to get my son back." He is determined.
