He wondered what he was doing here again.

He was new. Relatively new. And it hurt being new. It was a new feeling. A feeling he'd never felt before. And now, it confused him. Being new wasn't something that he was used to feeling, so he had to get used to it. And getting used to it was troubling, but he would try his best.

The room was dark. That was the first thing he was met with. Darkness. Darkness was troubling in itself. It was hard for him to see, and seeing was an important necessity. How could he see if it was too dark for him to see? That question confused him, and he didn't know why. Oh, well, he sort of knew why, but most of it confused him. And the confusion was the thing that confused him even more.

He felt the ground underneath him, the musky feeling in the air, the taste of dust and grime on his tongue. He couldn't see anything, but in substitution he could hear sounds all around him. Footsteps. Unknown creatures. That terrified him, and inwardly, he panicked.

That panic confused him even further.

He breathed in. Coughed. Breathed out. The air was tight with dust. He was new, but he was created beautifully enough to know what the things in the world were. Like dust. Air.

And paper.

He spotted paper. Lots and lots and lots of paper.

That at first confused him. Why paper? But the question developed into understandment. Why not paper?

Weirdly enough, that also confused him more. But he tried to ignore it. Confusion was okay. He was okay. He needed confusion. Confusion was something that would help him understand. And understanding was crucial.

Clumsily, he pushed himself up to his feet. His legs wobbled, and once or twice he almost fell, but he was quickly able to grasp the handle behind it all. With his arms spread out like an airplane, he took a step forward. Paused, the tension high, he wondered if he was going to fall. That was a logical thought process, and he wasn't confused by that whatsoever.

He took another step.

He didn't fall.

A breath of air came out of his mouth. A sigh of relief. He didn't quite know what relief was yet, but his brain understood that it was a good thing. Not a reason to panic.

Something crashed overhead.

He stumbled downwards, shocked and confused and scared. Another sound came out of his mouth, this time a gasp. A shock of pain filled his face as he fell down onto the ground. His face was pressed down close onto the dusty, dirt on his tongue, teeth crashing together. The feeling of his head tearing apart filled his brain, and suddenly he saw nothing but black…

…Has he seen this room before?

No. Yes? Maybe? He couldn't remember. And that was rather unfortunate. He wished he could remember, but that was a difficulty that he didn't know how to bypass.

Bypass.

Code…

He looked around. There seemed to be nothing but walls that lead nowhere. But maybe, just maybe he could figure out to get out of this confusing room.
