It was dark. Gregory didn't know how he felt about the area being dark. He could barely see his hands, and everything was just clumps of black blurs and shadows. Freddy had told him that he needed to find a pass to open the door to his room, which seemed stupid to Gregory. He could walk out just fine, through the vents of course, but Freddy couldn't? Maybe it was something in his system that made him different. Or perhaps his gigantic size.
Gregory knew he was different. The moment he woke up, he realized that he was different. It was a strange feeling, like knowing you had hair but not being able to really see it from your peripheral vision. Or like having eyeballs; knowing you had them even if you couldn't feel them or see them. That's that weird feeling Gregory had. He wasn't sure how to explain it beyond that, and he thought that was dumb. But in the end, it was okay; he was still alive and living and getting used to the whole part that he was hidden inside a giant bear animatronic.
How did he get there? Easy, he climbed inside while Freddy was asleep. Why didn't he mention it to Freddy? Simply because he didn't want the robot to have any concern or meaning of alarm that this strange boy found him in a state of a system error in the backrooms. Or that this strange boy was able to find him in the first place.
Speaking of system errors, that stupid text kept flickering in and out of his vision. He didn't know why- it had been appearing since he woke up the first time. It confused him. It made him wonder why he was having system errors even though he wasn't shutting down. Why hadn't it affected him like it had affected Freddy?
He patted his chest, his striped shirt. He didn't feel any different. Gregory took a glance around, noting the colorful interior, the usage of asymmetrical lines that were in bold, and the high set roof made of glass. This mall seemed to have multiple levels, and from the map on his newly acquired Faz Watch, there seemed to be basement levels as well. How many people could fit in this blasted place, he wondered. Regardless, he had a party pass to find.
It was hard getting around without light. Gregory had to linger close to the already lit walls, using his fingers to lead him forwards. It was a stupid thing, he decided, that he had to be stranded along in a place like this without any knowledge of how to get out. Well, he kind of knew. Freddy told him that he had to wait until six am for the doors to open. At that time, Freddy's friends and the dumb security guard lady would be hunting him down. He'd also have to avoid the automated staff bots, which seemed completely unfair! Just another thing that was added to the list it seems.
He lowered his watch and marched forwards, finding a grated door that rose up and down. It rose up for him, but only enough for him to crouch underneath. Thankfully Gregory was on the smaller scale when it came to kids his age. Or, at least that's what he presumed.
Quickly, he slid down underneath the grated door and found himself in a completely different room. This room wasn't as large as Rockstar Row, but it was still huge in comparison to the tiny room Gregory woke up in. Slowly he scurried about, keeping an ear and eye out. He was paranoid, obviously, and the emotion was completely new to him, but it felt normal. It felt almost like he was becoming more and more real. More and more human.
He found the Freddy poster and the pass swiftly without any problems. No other personnel were found around in this general area, which gave Gregory some relief. He folded the pass and shoved it in his back pocket, moving onwards back to Freddy's.
"Good job Superstar!" Freddy said. Gregory felt proud underneath this praise. "Now all you need to do is use the pass on the door and we can be on our way!"
"What if someone finds me?" Gregory asked. "What will I do then?"
"Do not worry about that," Freddy said reassuringly. "I will be by your side every step of the way."
Gregory nodded, opening the door. Freddy smiled at him, wiggling his ear. That made the child smile.
He seems pretty nice, Gregory thought to himself. He watched Freddy walk towards him. The giant bear animatronic looked down at Gregory, glowing eyes warm with kindness.
"So, who was that lady that you were talking to?" he asked.
"That was Vanessa, the Pizzaplex's security guard," Freddy explained. "She's in charge of making sure the Pizzaplex is safe from any threats, as well as making sure no one stays overnight."
Gregory squinted his eyes. "Well, too bad I'm here then… Wait- she was the person who was chasing me around!"
Freddy eyed him. "Are you certain?"
"Absolutely! She and this crazy rabbit lady." He touched his cheek, which came off with blood. "Oh…"
"What?"
"I'm bleeding."
Freddy opened his chest. "Hop inside me. This next area is prohibited for human usage. I can access it though. We'll find you a First Aid center in no time. Just try not to get any blood on my internal machinery."
