Two hours later she nervously stood outside the airlock for the medical frigate, the ship had arrived out of hyperspace, seemingly without anyone at the controls. Still biting her lip, she pulled her robe tighter around herself, the hood draped over her head as the door opened revealing the frost-covered walls of the inside of the frigate.
Hurrying inside she looked around the halls looking for any sign of life in the halls, three clones all from Master Fisto's battalion accompanied her through the corridors of the ship. Reaching out with her senses she looked for any signs of life on the ship, and once she did, she sent two of the clones to the storage compartment.
Continuing further into the ship she headed towards the cockpit, joining Master Fisto outside the door she asked, "have you found Padawans Tano and Offee?" The freezing cold air bit into her skin, and she found herself shivering as he reached for the frozen controls, "I believe they are in here." The door opened and as the room was revealed she felt the blood drain from her face, running in and dropping to her knees.
Beside her lay Ashoka and Bariss, both unconscious, their skin pale, reaching over to take one of each of their wrists. Faint pulses fluttered under her fingers as she felt anger bubble in her stomach, red hot rage like she had never felt before.
Getting up she turned to the clone commander standing beside Master Fisto, "fetch two stretchers, we need to get them into the station." Her voice was as cold as the air around her, "any other survivors we find will also need to be removed from the ship as soon as possible."
Locking gazes with the Jedi Master who nodded and the order was passed on, kneeling again she began looking over Bariss who was in a worse state than Ashoka. Pulling off her cloak she wrapped the fabric around her listening for footsteps which signaled the arrival of four of the clone medics with the two stretchers.
Rising to her feet she followed both stretchers into the station, beginning to tend to both her friends as soon as they were taken to a shared room. But her hands shook as she worked, her anger draining away to be replaced by worry even as when she checked Ashoka's vitals which had begun to stabilize. Pulling the blanket up over her shoulders before turning back to Bariss.
She heard the door opening and she turned to see who came in, recognizing the man who walked in she dropped her head going back to work as she said. "Master Skywalker." Expecting no response, she pulled another blanket over Bariss biting her lip, knowing that she had done what she could.
Looking up she said, "Ashoka should be alright, her vitals are steady and her temperature is beginning to return to normal." She wouldn't admit it but while she had befriended Ashoka before she had even learned to use the Force, she was always nervous around her Master, something about him just set her on edge.
He nodded and she moved to leave, ducking out of the room and going down to her room, feeling the exhaustion starting to grow. Her hands shook as she sat down on her bed burying her face in her hands. It had never really hit her that she might have to treat her friends.
They'd grown up together, trained together, and started their training with their respective masters about the same time. Ashoka and Bariss were as much her family as her cousin and mother were back on her home world. But she had never thought she would have to treat her own sisters.
Fear trickled down her spine as she felt her eyes burn, her body shaking as the full weight of what she had just done slammed into her with the same massive force as her exhaustion. Laying back she tried to calm down, leveling her breathing as she shivered, and eventually, she got up going over to her small side table.
Setting her small kettle on the heating pad and bringing the water to a soft boil she pulled out the small pouch hidden in her bag, measuring the small spoon of powder that she added to the water. She poured the tea into her small blue cup, her fingers brushed the white flowers embossed over its rim as the amber liquid settled in the cup.
The tea made on her home planet had always steadied her, it helped her calm down, reminded her of who she was, and who she could be. And once again it allowed her to focus, laying back once more until she fell asleep, ready to return to the task at hand.
