Blowing out a breath, the female brushed her hair out of her eyes as she followed the High Priestess. It was still mid day, though the sun was starting to set. Nefert started to explain how it all worked. The walk was peaceful, and there weren't any other people around. The two of them had walked down a curving hall and the aesthetic screamed sort of medieval vibes but more modern. The hallway was never ending.
"So classes begin around eight at night and end at three in the morning. The teachers are available until three thirty to help students that need help with the class. You'll know the exact time once you complete your change, which I have a feeling you will." The woman looked at her with a warm look in her eyes. Lena believed her. "Until fledglings complete the change the time will be posted around the campus for you to see. You'll find it in all of the classrooms, dining hall, gym, common rooms and gathering areas. Nyx's temple is open at all times. There are formal rituals held twice a week right after classes. We just had one a couple days ago and the next is for this upcoming Saturday."
"This all sounds amazing." Lena spoke, shoving her hair out of her face, a smile on her face. "I already feel like I fit in here, more than I did at my old school."
"I can see you fitting right in here Lena. Nyx has chosen you for this life for a reason we will be shown." They turned another corner, and as they continued, Neferet pointed out various spots before they turned left and came across an old door made from old wood. Then they walked through it and into the evening. The older woman pointed to a building to Lena's right, "That is Nyx's temple. Don't hesitate to go there if you just need some time for yourself."
The place was absolutely amazing and Lena would have to describe it late, too busy at the moment taking it all in. As they walked, the fledgling saw a large marble statue of a woman wearing long flowing robes.
"Is that Nyx?" She questioned the auburn haired woman who looked at her and nodded.
"That is her, you'll see signs of her all around here." The walk to the dorms was a fair way away but it gave Lena a chance to ask the woman all of her burning questions which were gladly answered. When they first walked in, the first room seemed to be one of the gathering rooms that the woman had mentioned and she wasn't surprised to see it empty. It was only five in the evening.
"Some are awake, but they chose to stay in their room until it's time for dinner." Neferet told her as they stopped to let Lena take it all in. It was designed well, and it screamed teenagers but more refined. She could definitely see herself in this place. The pair went up a flight of stairs to their right and she wasn't surprised to see that it led to a hallway of doors. Most had names on it on a white board. Neferet led her to a door about half way down the hall and opened it. True to her earlier thoughts, all of her things were in fact in the room, bed made and everything placed how she liked it. She couldn't keep the look of surprise off her face. It was amazing how they did all of that so quickly.
"All of your things were brought here this morning and we got it all set up for you. Now, I'll let you get settled in, you don't have to attend classes today but we will send someone in about an hour to get you to the dining hall. The same people will be in your first class so they'll show you the way tomorrow. Does that sound alright?" Lena found herself nodding and with a side hug Neferet left the room, shutting the door softly behind her.
Letting herself flop onto her bed, Lena let out a sigh. The room was large, evenly split so each person would have the same amount of room. There was a TV mounted onto the wall, two dressers, two night stands and a door that led to their own bathroom. Neferet had told her it would most likely be a while before she got a roommate, if she ever did get one. Would she want one? No, she decided. She would rather enjoy a room to herself. The closet was filled with plain articles of clothes, most were black and long sleeved but there were a few short sleeved. The dresser was filled with all of her clothes from her room.
On her night stand there was a note addressed to her from Neferet. Weird, it was dated two days before the current date.
Lena,
Welcome to your new life, I hope everything is to your liking so far. To keep this short, there is a sort of uniform. Just wear one of the shirts hanging up and any pants within reason. Don't be afraid to add something to it to make it your own. The sign on the left side of the shirt is your class sign. It is a spiral as it represents your new beginning in this life. It is called the Labyrinth of Nyx.
Dinner is at five each morning and lunch is at midnight. For breakfast you can come to the dining hall or eat at your dorm. Breakfast starts at around seven fifteen each evening. Lights are supposed to be out about six thirty in the morning and make sure you're awake before seven thirty each night for classes.
Don't be afraid to ask any questions that come to mind, my door is always open.
Neferet.
With an exhale she placed it in the drawer and noticed another piece of paper. It appeared to be her schedule.
