Last time on Dragon Ball, a group of mysterious men had arrived on Earth in search of their kind. Much to their surprise they discover that their prince had resided on this planet. These men were of Saiyan descent. The news was quickly related to the others who were orbiting Earth's atmosphere. Shortly after, Vegeta gathers the Z Fighters and meets with the surviving Saiyans. Things turn sour when a Saiyan named Tarble sees the prince with his own eyes. To everyone's surprise they learn that Tarble was the first heir to the throne, but was banished from Planet Vegeta shortly after his brother's birth. In a fit of rage Tarble taps into his Saiyan roots and for the first time transforms into a Super Saiyan. Memories of abandonment and isolation storm the older prince's head for he was deemed unworthy of the throne, being born weak. He storms towards his younger brother as his power level slowly rises. The two brothers clash in an epic fight to the death and the remaining warriors split up. A young Gohan is pitted against a peculiar Saiyan named Korun, another hybrid. The two fight, but due to Gohan's pacifistic nature the battle doesn't go well for our beloved hero.

He was sent flying and crashed into the rocky massif of the Gizard Wastelands. He fell to the ground and lay buried within the rubble. His eyes darkened and his soft light blonde hair returned to its black shaggy state. "Ugh. He's just too strong," Gohan said to himself, groping his side, his ribs broken and clothes tattered.

"That's it? This is the legendary super saiyan transformation my people have talked about? You're a disgrace to our clan! A pathetic hybrid unworthy of a Saiyan name!" Shouted Korun, as he hovered above a beaten and bruised Gohan. The Saiyan hybrid had silk black hair, sharp fangs, and long pointed ears. He wore gladiator-like armor that had a silver chest plate and a purple under piece. His body was layered in short brown fur and his tail swayed freely.

"Damn it...I'm sorry father. To think that his second form would be up to par with Super Saiyan. If only I could remember how to transform into a Super Saiyan 2. Looks like this is the end for me," Gohan thought to himself. He had given everything he had, but wasn't strong enough to stop the Croconian-Saiyan hybrid. Korun's second form was too much for the young half-Saiyan teenager. A form only Korun can achieve for he comes from a line of aliens capable of transforming into grotesque reptilian creatures. The mix of Croconian and Saiyan blood allows for him to transform into a new variation of the Great Ape without the need of a full moon. Gohan can only hope that Vegeta and the others stop these savage invaders.

"This is the end for you Earthling!" Korun cried out. He focused all of his ki into one deadly blast capable of destroying an entire continent. "DIE!" He roared, as he launched off his final attack.

Gohan grit his teeth and shut his eyes, mumbling to himself, "I'm sorry Goten..mother...everyone. I failed to protect the Earth." The blast came closer and through the darkness underneath his eyelids a white light pierced through as the enormous blast neared him. When all of a sudden a mysterious figure appeared from out of thin air and deflected the mighty attack with ease. He then shot a beam strong enough to erupt the blast mid-air, preventing the Earth from being damaged any further.

"What!" Korun yelped as his voice cracked.

Confused, our young hero opens his eyes and looks up only to see the back of his savior. "Your fight is with me now," said the mysterious man. The man bore a great resemblance to Gohan's Namekian friend. Gohan's eyes slowly glittered with joy, "Mr. Piccolo!" He shouted, bearing a joyful child-like smile.

"No," said the Namekian man, with a solemn tone. "I am his son, Nail"

Gohan's facial expression quickly switched from joy to utter confusion. "S-son?"

"I'll explain everything when I finish off this ugly bastard," said Nail.

"Enough of this! I'll just finish off that pathetic Earthling after I kill you, green man!" Shouted Korun, as he pointed toward his opponent. His veins popped and his muscles began to tense up, furious from seeing his attack get deflected with such ease.

Nail turned to Gohan and handed him a small pale bean. "Gohan, take this senzu bean. It's unripe so its effects won't be as potent, but it should suffice," He turned his head and looked up at his opponent who hovered above them. "You should have enough strength to fly over to your friends. My brothers should be with them, but the others lost too much ki and are badly wounded. Take them to Kami's lookout so Dende can heal their wounds,"

"B-brothers?" Gohan was at a loss for words. He was dying to know what happened on New Namek while Piccolo was away.

*Meanwhile, in different regions of the Kodaiho Lands*

Yamcha stared at the green demon-like creature that had just sent the Saiyan woman flying. It bore wings and a fin-like mohawk, reminding him of the demon king offspring he had fought back in his younger days.

"You can relax now," it said as it cracked its neck.

The Saiyan woman violently powered up and disintegrated the rubble that buried her. A heavy mist of dust covered her surroundings and inside it her shadowy figure was the only thing visible. She positioned herself in a horse stance and focused her ki.

"I finally get to see what these Saiyans are all about," said the green creature.

"She was hiding this much power?" Yamcha thought to himself. He sat back and watched as the green creature and the Saiyan woman focused their ki.

In another region of the Kodaiho Lands, Tien was fighting a Saiyan who resembled his late friend Goku. The Saiyan shot off a blast strong enough to wipe Tien out, but a mysterious creature appeared in the nick of time and swallowed the blast. Its belly bloated and then it burped, returning its figure. Shocked, Tien gazed upon the green orc-like creature that had just saved his life. "Is that Drum?" he mumbled to himself.

"I'll take it, your Tien?" said the plump green creature.

"Y-yeah. And I take it, you're Drum?" Tien replied.

"Nah, they call me Tama," as he cracked his knuckles.

"A Namekian?" The Saiyan muttered to himself with a confused look. "You there! You look like a Namekian, but I've never seen one like you before. Tell me, what are you?" asked the battle-scarred Saiyan warrior.

"I'm a demon," replied Tama as he gave out a devilish grin.

*Meanwhile in Kami's Lookout*

"Will they be alright?" asked Dende with a concerned look on his face.

"Fear not, for they are mighty warriors," replied the white toned pterodactyl-like man. "Especially your friend Nail," he continued, with reassurance in his voice.

"Is Nail really that strong, Alesis?" Dende asked.

"Yes, he may even be stronger than our father," He replied

"That's incredible. Nail was already the strongest warrior in our clan back on Old Namek. To be reborn again and even stronger is amazing!" Dende said with astonishment in his voice.

"Indeed," said Alesis. "We are much more powerful than our previous counterparts. Wouldn't you agree Mr. Popo?,"

The genie-like man set his watering pot to the ground and plucked a ripe berry from the bush he was watering. He took a bite and then manifested a basket to pick the rest of the fruit. "Mr. Popo agrees," he said as he picked the berries from the bush. "Those Namekian men rival that boy from the future,"

Right as the Saiyans were about to deal the final blow, three mysterious creatures appeared not a moment too soon to save our beloved heroes. Who are these Namekians? Where did they come from? Do they stand a chance against the mighty Saiyans? Find out next time on..

Thirty minutes before the arrival of the Namekians

Father..

*Meanwhile in the outskirts of West City*

A young man sat in a Lotus position outside his house. Focusing on the battle the Z Fighters were having against the mysterious invaders he knew nothing of. His wife stepped outside and approached him. "Trunks, you've been out here for two hours. Is everything alright?" she asked. She stood behind him with her left hand balled up into a fist covering her mouth and her right hand holding her belly.

"No, Mai. Everything is bad. Everyone's ki is diminishing. I get Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha, but father and Gohan don't make sense. The people that arrived on Earth aren't even that strong. Why won't they turn Super Saiyan 2 and finish them off?"

"They haven't transformed?" She asked.

"For some odd reason they haven't. I don't get it," He added as he stared into the horizon, confused as to what's taking place.

"Maybe they haven't discovered it yet and perhaps this is the moment they tap into it?" Mai leaned closer and wrapped her arms around Trunks.

"Yeah. Maybe you're right," Trunks then put his hands on Mai's arms. The two closed their eyes and for a moment all worries were lifted from Trunks' mind. Mai then changed the subject to lighten up the mood. "Only two months left before Tights and Echalotte are born,"

"Yeah. I'm really nervous. Haha,"

"It'll be a nice change of pace. I wonder if they'll be able to go blonde like their dad," She teased.

"I just hope they don't have tails. I wasn't born with one, but Gohan told me stories about his," he added.

"Baby monkeys! They'll be so cute!" She squeaked.

"Not when they transform during a full moon," He continued.

"Bedtime by 6:30!" She said with a motherly tone.

"Right. We should ge-" Trunks felt a sudden spike in energy. "This ki.."

"What happened?" Mai asked.

"I feel the ki of a Super Saiyan 2 and something else similar to it," He continued.

"See, I told you they'd figure it out," She said with a warm smile.

Trunks removed Mai's arms and slowly got up. "No Mai, Gohan's ki is almost gone and my father's is slowly dropping. This ki, they belong to different people,"

"That's weird, the only Saiyans in this universe should be you, Gohan, and your dad."

"Mai, I think we have a really bad situation. My father is fighting a Saiyan. Which means the others are-" Trunks was cut off.

"Fighting Saiyans too," Mai added, finishing her husband's sentence. She started to feel every beat her heart made as her anxiety slowly settled.

"I need to help them," Trunks' balled up his hands and looked to the direction the ki was coming from. Mai put her hand on Trunks' shoulder and gave him a stern look. "You know you can't do that,"

He turned back and locked his eyes with Mai. "If Gohan and my dad die then that means you and the babies will be in danger. I'm sorry Mai, I'm left with no choice."

"Maybe your father will transform too," She said with slight desperation in her voice.

"He would've alre-" Trunks felt a disturbance.

"Trunks?"

He looked to the ground. "Gohan's ki...it's…gone,"

Mai stared at Trunks. "No.." She said quietly. She knew what was going through his mind.

"They're..d-dying.." Trunks remembered the day he found Gohan's corpse in the ruins of Pepper Town. The trauma engulfed his mind and his silk blue hair gently rose and spiked into a light blonde. His eyes then changed from a bright blue to a viridescent color. "I'll plead to Chronoa and talk to Whis. We've done everything she's asked us to do,"

"Trunks, don't do this," Mai's eyes started to water. She felt helpless, unable to stop the only person she cares about from potentially dying. Trunks slowly elevated from the ground and looked back at the family he would be leaving behind if things didn't go in his favor. He made eye contact one last time and said what might be his final words. "I love you," He then shot off and disappeared into the sky while Mai watched powerless. Her hair gently danced with the zephyr Trunks had made and she muttered to herself, "Please don't leave me.."
