Intro For hundreds of years, the Dragon race has constantly been at war with the humans.

They have been hunted down for sport and slavory. Their wings would be either cut off or broken beyond repair to prevent them from flying away. Most would have their teeth removed to prevent biting and starve them into submission. The ones captured for slavory were chained and whipped, forced to work till they couldn't stand any longer. At this point they were deemed useless and killed. They were butured for their scales, claws, horns and teeth. Every part of the body would not go to waste. They have been hunted down to the brink of extinction, the remaining survivors have all gone into hiding, from then on it was to be believed that Dragons were just a myth. That is until I was born.

I was born as a human hybrid, amongst the remaining wild Dragons, I had the ability to emerge as a Dragon or a human. I'm able to communicate with the Dragons through telekinesis. Over the recent years I have learned about my Dragon race and what we have been through.

Just like all clans, there is an Alpha and Omega. As a clan, mine have chosen me as the Alpha, and at such a young age, I am only 22 years old and am mother to the remaining race. As my role as the Alpha, I vowed to protect my race and to build it back up. Our clan lives far up the mountains where no human can reach, the only way up here is through a dragon. Up here we are safe and have been able to safely reproduce and raise our young.

Chapter 1 The view from our mountain is beyond breathtaking, every morning at dawn the clouds

parade in majestic colors. Ranging from the brightest orange to a radiant yellow, the sky looks as if it sits on a sea of smooth clouds. This view should neve be seen by humans, they are not worthy of such a scene. Every morning I will stand at the mountain's edge and spread my wings as far as I can. Allowing the cool powerful yet gentle breeze to blow them back. I then will lean into the wind and allow it to gently bring me off my feet, as I hover in place off the cliff. Then in a split second, I collapse my wings and I drop, diving into the earth below. As I rapidly gain speed, the ground is still nowhere to be seen, the wind whistles past my ears as I close my eyes, then in a flash I spread my wings out once more, I miss the ground by mere feet as I whiz past the trees and bushes like a torpedo. My speed starts to slow down as I flap my wings a few times and come to a graceful landing just at the edge of a lake. I look down into the calm ripples of water, I stand out from the humans, I keep my hair short for when I fly I can feel the wind currants better. Because of my rank in my clan, I've had to fight off outsiders many times over the years, resulting in a few battle scars. I've got three on my chest, one starting from my right shoulder and goes down across my torso, two on my face, one starting from the top of my ear and runs down along my right side of the jaw, and the a large one that start above my left eye and runs directly down, passing over my eye, I was lucky I didn't lose my eyesight. I've got bright blue eyes, and pearl whit teeth. My fangs can still be somewhat visible in my human form, especially if I smile. I'd do whatever it takes to protect my family, my clan, my race

Just then pulling me out of my thoughts, a noise makes me turn my head away from the water. I quickly pull in my wings and stand up. My hearing is hypersensitive, I can pinpoint a mouse's movements several miles away. A small but subtle sound from behind me made the hairs on my neck stand up. Dragons are one with nature, they are aware of what goes on

around them and know when something is not right. This noise does not belong to nature, I slowly lower myself into the tall grass and face the direction of the noise. I was more than careful not to move or make a sound, then to my surprise I heard a giggle, a human giggle coming from the woods, followed by that giggle were two small human children. A boy and a girl were chasing each other, and laughing. "Arya! Stop Haha!" Says the little boy, "Haha! You have to catch me first, Enzo!" Shouts the little girl. They both are headed to the water. I still remain motionless, what are two young kids doing all the way out here? More specifically, what are they doing this close to my mountain? As if it couldn't get any worse, I hear another voice come through the woods. Though this one was an adult male. "Arya! Enzo! Not too far from camp, remember what we're here for!" He shouts, his voice echos louder than the kids. I looked and saw the man, he seemed very fit, and muscular. He looks past the kids and to the lake side, he slowly skims across the tall grass. I try to get lower as he looks in my direction, it was almost as if we were looking directly at each other. "Daddy look! A dinosaur print! Shouts the girl, I swing my head to where she was, I widen my eyes in fear. Not only was she just feet away from me but she found my footprints. I looked down at my feet, my claws were partially out creating the footprint she sees. I looked back at the man, who was already half way over here. I quickly but quietly move away from both of them, the man kneels down above my print. He pulls out a small notebook, skimming through some pages. "That's strange," He says. "This isn't like any print I've seen, it's almost like a human footprint is mixed with it." He says writing in his book. He then takes a picture of it too. I gulp worried he might see me, I debate whether or not to go Dragon and scare them away. But what if they go telling others that they saw a Dragon. Though it has been over a hundred years since the last Dragon was seen, so if they did tell others they won't believe them. Also for the safety of my caln, these humans are too close for comfort and are not wanted and need to leave.

With my decision made, I move further away and quietly transform. Starting from my feet and hands, my fingers and toes elongate into razor sharp claws. As jet black armored scales cover my entire body, leaving my underside a calm ice blue scales. My tail emerges at the base of my spine as my wings sprout out my back. Under my wings are the same color as my underside. My face grows into my snout as my fangs drop. My body size grew three times larger than an elephant. I can transform into a Dragon within seconds.

I approach them with caution and anger, the little boy sees me first from the woods. "Dad! Look!" he shouts, the man turns around going to stand up, but trips over himself while pulling his daughter down with him. I tower over the two humans, flashing my pearl white teeth, growling so low the ground rumbles. The man looks at me in utter fear and disbelief. "Th-they real…" he managed to stutter, I was so focused on them I didn't realize the boy had run up behind me. Out of the corner of my eye I catch him with my tail, wrapping it around him, "Enzo No!" Shouts the man, going to run at him but I snap my jaws and growl louder, cousin him to freeze looking at me. "Please don't hurt him." he whimpers. I narrow my eyes and come close to his face. "Daddy help me!" Utters the boy, I bring my tail around and set the boy down, now that I have all their attention, I stand up on my hind legs, spreading my wings all the way out and without

warning, I open my mouth and let out a roar so loud it could be heard from the mountain. They were forced to cover their ears as the cower at my feet. Just as they should. My roar turns into a loud but low growl, leaning close to their faces, looking at them I can see the fear in them. Only then do I back away allowing them to stand up. I brush my footprint away as I pick up his phone, crushing it, and burn his book, leaving them with no proof of what they saw. The kids run back into the woods "Daddy hurry, come on!" Yells the girl. The man slowly stood up, his legs still shaking with fear, he couldn't seem to break eye contact with me, "For years, I have been searching, turning over every stone to find proof that you still exist. No one believed me, but now, here I am standing in your presence, a majestic beat. I didn't mean to upset you in any way. I meant you no harm and thank you greatly for sparing us." He explains all the while backing away. "Come on kids, leave it be." He pushes them, looking back once more at me and runs off into the woods. I waited till they were gone and returned to my human form, in the back of my head I somehow knew I would regret letting them live in the future. I have no problem killing, believe me I don't. But my curiosity still lingered about why they were so close to the mountain. The man is obviously looking into my race, which should be left alone. Because over the past several years we have been able to reproduce in peace, and we are ready at any time to retaliate towards humans with no mercy. There is no forgiveness for what they did. When my curiosity wins, I follow behind them in the woods. I was careful not to get too close, I eventually catch up with them, I stay behind trees and bushes, I then hear the man talk to the kids, "Are you guys okay? Enzo, did it hurt you?" He says calmly. "Daddy, was that a real Dragon?" Asks the girl, the man nods, "Yes, yes it was, they still exist." The man says excitedly. I frowned at his comment, the boy laughs, "I touched a real Dragon!" The girl looked at the boy, not amused. "It was scary, I didn't like it." She whines. "Let's get back to camp, Daddy had to make a few calls." Said the man. I narrowed my eyes at his comment, but who would believe him without any proof.

Chapter 2 Pretty soon I had followed them back to a camp. There were tents set up everywhere,

there were rows of tables under the tents with computers under most of them. Men in uniforms were everywhere, some even had badges. I stayed behind a fallen tree, I ducked down. Why were the military here?! You mean the man I let live, works with the military? And had a full camp set up this close to the mountain?! I knew I should've killed them when I had the chance.

The kids run off into the camp while the man walks up to a group of men, "General!" He shouts, they look up from what they were doing, I see an older man, he

has a small beard and a well buzzed head. He steps away from the others, "Yes, Dr. Tafari, how was the walk, did you find anything?" Says the General, "Oh yes sir, you won't believe the encounter we had." Starts the man, "Arya! Come

here!" He shouts. The girl comes running up to the General, "Uncle Archie!" She giggles as the General laughs bending down and picks her up

swinging her around.

"Hey babydoll, how are you?" He says, "We saw a Dragon and it was mean." She blurts out, I could tell by the General's face,

he didn't believe her. "You did? Wow I bet that was fun." He replies, setting her down. But when he stood up

the man handed him a phone. My eyes widened in disbelief and worry. Wait, I just destroyed the phone! The General leaned closer looking at the phone, his eyes widened taking the phone in his own hands, "Holy mother of- she wasn't kidding!" He stutters. The man nods, smiling wide.

"It almost killed us, but spared our lives. I want this one for my studies. Can you do that sir?" Explains the man or Dr. The General nods,

"Absolutely, once we have it in our custody, you will be free to study it." Starts the General, the Dr. smiles widely, "Once we have it properly secure, we will begin to look for more. As we know Dragons live in herds." As the General starts to shout orders, the Dr. leads a group of men back to the lakeside. I turn back into Dragon and shoot up above the tall trees, out of sight. I shoot past the men and to the mountain, I have to move my herd.

As my men and I run to the lakeside where the Dr. had said they were, a rather large shadow swoops above us. Causing us to stop in our tracks, we all look up and nearly drop to our knees, some even take cover. But I stand up and look in awe. In all my years in the military, ever since Dragons were thought to no longer exist, besides the ones in captivity, wild Dragons were known to be extinct. Until this beauty that flew right in front of us. Some men had their guns aimed at her

"No! Don't shoot, non lethal only!" I shout, they all switch to the tranq darts and start shooting. Even as high as it was I could still hear the screams as the Dragon fell to the ground, barely missing the waters edge. By the time we reached it, it wasn't fully knocked out, I told my men to keep their distance until it was fully out. They have chains ready to restrain it. I couldn't keep myself from admiring the fine features on this beast. The scales alone were darker than the darkest night, the teeth were a smooth pearl white. It's eyes were a calm ice blue with a distinguished and rather large scar coming down it's left eye. As the more it calmed down I slowly approached it. It's eyes were focused on me as it fought hard to stay awake. I reached my hand out hesitating to tough it. It let out a low growl as it fell unconscious. Only then do I allow the men to chain it. Starting from the legs, they collapse the wings against the torso and wrap the chains around the body. Pinning them against the body, I made sure to wrap the chains around the snout several times in case it wakes up before we want it to. With all this done I call in a helicopter so we can take it to our base. There it will be examined by our Dragon trainer, he will determine if it will be a work Dragon or handed back to us for an experimental Dragon.

No! This can't be happening! NO! I rush to the mountain but suddenly feel rushing pain all over my body and crash to the ground below. My body felt weak and tired. Why? I tried to get up but it was as if I was being weighed down. My vision began to get blurry and my hearing faded. And just as I close my eyes I see the General's hand aproce my face, then nothing.

When I woke up, I couldn't move or open my mouth. It's almost like there was a metal muzzle clamped around my snout. My neck was chained to the ground as well as my torso. My wings were pinned against my torso as well. I felt chains wrap around my tail also pinning it to

the ground. I started to panic and thrash around violently in hopes to break these chains. But the more I fought the more I would growl in fear and frustration. I couldn't even open my mouth to roar, I started to scrape my claws on the ground. Which made the awful screeching sound no one likes to hear. Just then I hear a loud slam and someone shout.

"Hey! Cut that shit out!" Shouts a male voice. I stopped suddenly, only from the bass in his voice did I realize I couldn't see either, I was blind folded, I had to rely on my hearing entirely. I heard him walk on the metallic ground, his steps were heavy as they echoed the room. I listen to his steps until they stop right next to me, instinctively I let out a low warning growl.

"Watch your tone Dragon, as of right now, you belong to me. Your freedom ends here, you serve me now, so fight all you want, you're just wasting your energy." He bellows next to my ear. I take this chance and ram my head into him, I hear him fall to the floor with a thud.

"You stupid reptile!" He shouts, I laugh internally but am silenced by an electric current surging violently throughout my whole body. I've never made such a screeching sound as I am now. My claws dug so deep in the metal floor that the tips of my claws started chipping. Which added on the excruciating pain. I grit my teeth so hard my gums start to bleed. Just when I think I'm going to pass out, the electricity stops. But I continue to tremor as it still lingers in my body. The sound of the man's merciless chuckle is what brings me back to reality, but then I feel his hand on my neck making me jolt. I have never been touched by a human, the feeling is so unsettling I flinched and tried to move away. This made him snicker even more, I feel him lean in,

"Don't worry Dragon, they all learn eventually. Let's just hope you aren't one of the ones that learn too late." He purrs in my ear. I feel a small prick in my shoulder and within minutes I black out once more.

Through a long dark tunnel I could see the tunnel. My first instinct was to run home. But I yanked back, I looked down and saw I was human, but chained to the ground. I pull and yank on the damn things. But my effort was futile, I could feel tears begin to creep past my eyes. I quickly blink to hold them back. Just then the sound of horrific screeching can be heard from the end of the dark tunnel, I looked up and to my horror I see helicopters, cars, humans in the hundreds surround the mountain, shooting my home, throwing chains over every dragon that came out to defend my home, their cries for help were more painful to hear than the wretched chains digging in my skin. I too cry out to my family but cannot be heard. They were being shot dead out of the sky and torches were thrown in the cave, I was forced to watch in utter terror as my home, my family, my race was being burned alive. A cold hand pulls my chains back as I fall to the ground, looking up I see the man laughing down at me.

"You brought extinction to your own kind Dragon." He says with venom dripping in every word.

"NOOOO!" I scream so loud I wake myself up, I panic looking around, nothing, I was in darkness, I was a Dragon, and it was just a bad dream. I sigh heavily but feel tears fall down my face. What If I did bring extinction to my kind? I did the one thing Dragons are forbidden to do, and that was to let themselves be seen by a human, but I thought I was doing the right thing and scaring the humans away from the mountain. I had to make sure they weren't coming back. I didn't mean to get caught, now thanks to me, the humans have reason to believe that we still exist. They could be attacking my home, killing my family, burning them alive. And I'm here chained to the ground, helpless. I am the worst Alpha and clan has ever had, and it's my fault.

Does my clan even know I've been captured? I can't reach them through telepathy, wherever I am, I'm too far from the mountain. A dragon's telepathy can reach over six hundred miles to another dragon, but I can't sense them anywhere. Come to think of it, I can't sense any dragon near me. Where the hell am I? I'm alone and scared, I can't reach anybody, and my home could be currently invaded.

Chapter 3

The Military have brought me the first dragon in decades, I didn't believe them when the General said they were bringing it in. But when they arrived, the size of the beast damn near caught me off guard. It was beautiful, even the battle scars said a lot about this dragon already. I've been studying the species more than half my life. You can tell by most dragons their pecking order. The runts are the easiest to identify, their body size the the first to see, along with certain wounds and scars on their body, most are from corrections from the other members. But it's not often, almost rare in fact, to see a dragon like this one. The size alone screams this dragon is an Alpha, the scars on the chest and face were put there intentionally, the opponent was either trying to out rank this one or kill it, the scars on the face, they were trying to break the jaw and eliminate the eye sight, and on the chest, was confirmation they wanted to kill this dragon, but failed. The dragon's color is anything but unique. A large population of dragons have solid color scarles, but this one stands out, the body of the beast's scales are jet black, but running along under the body and wings are and Ice blue. Adding on the rarity of this dragon, an Alpha will go it's whole life without leaving the clan, it's one and a million to see even a glimpse of an Alpha Dragon. This Dragon has a story.
