Just an idea I had after watching Moon Knight.
Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy: The Vampire Slayer or Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Steven Grant had closed his gift shop but fallen asleep as a guard approached him at the desk and knocked.
"Steven? Steven!"
"What?" Steven came to, looking around in confusion before turning to J.B., one of the guards working there.
"We're closing." J.B. said.
"Oh. Right. Sorry, must've dozed off, I'll pack in a moment." Steven said, picking the sheet to cover his shop.
"Good. If Ronnie catches you here, he's gonna run you over. Night, mate." J.B. said.
"Night." Steven said as he locked the glass cases and put the sheet on the shop.
Steven had gone to the locker room to change his clothes, when he heard strange noises and went out.
"Hello? J.B.? Ronnie? Anyone?" Steven called as he passed by a glass case, not noticing that his own reflection was looking at Steven himself. A moment later, Steven noticed J.B. frozen. "What the…"
"Hey! A witness!"
Steven then noticed three people, one was a tall man with dark hair and the other two were a bit smaller and more scrawny but given that they had some hi-tech weapons, Steven decided to run as he dodged, when the tall man fired from his hi-tech weapon some kind of a freeze ray.
"We can't let him get away!" Warren ordered.
Steven dodged as the freeze ray hit the nearby glass case before he burst into the employee area, using his access card and locked himself in the bathroom, panicking. "Oh, God. I'm gonna die here."
"Steven…"
"I'm gonna die."
"Steven!"
Steven looked around, wondering where did that voice come from.
"Steven, I can save us."
Steven turned to his reflection in the mirror, realizing it was talking to him, only in an American accent.
"But I can't have you fighting me. You need to give me control. Do you understand?" Marc Spector said.
"No, what… what control? What are you talking about?" Steven demanded as the door began freezing.
"Look at me." Marc said.
"No! Stop! Stop it! You're not real!" Steven snapped, smacking himself in the face, hoping it was a hallucination.
"This is real." Marc insisted.
"No, none of this is real."
"Yes. Steven. You gotta give me control, it's the only way."
"Oh, God, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die…" Steven panicked.
"Steven. Look at me." Marc said calmly as Steven turned to him. "You're not gonna die. Let me save us."
Steven turned to him, having no idea what he meant but decided to trust him, when lights began flickering and Egyptian hieroglyphs appeared on the walls of the bathroom as Steven spasmed and looked up, as if he was being possessed, while white straps began wrapping themselves around him.
The door froze completely and cracked as Warren smirked. "Now I got—"
The Trio stared in shock to face some kind of a mummy in a white cape and hood.
"Awesome!" Andrew yelled in admiration at the costume.
Moon Knight grabbed the crescent blades from his chest and threw them like boomerangs, one of them cutting Andrew's hand off as he screamed in pain and fell on his knees, while the straps fell off the freeze ray weapon on Warren as it fell on Warren's foot and he screamed, jumping and clutching his foot. Seeing an opening, Jonathan ran off, while Marc cracked his knuckles.
"Clever boy. You two should prepare for a world of pain." Moon Knight said.
"They shall face the justice of Khonshu for defiling the sacred place." The spirit of Khonshu said behind Moon Knight, not that Warren or Andrew could see it as Moon Knight rushed at both nerds with his fists ready.
The following morning, Steven gasped and screamed, waking up in his apartment. He then approached the mirror, wondering if the last night had happened as he began talking to his reflection.
"You there? No? Didn't think so." Steven sighed, hoping that the last night was just a horrible nightmare.
Steven returned back to work to the museum, when he saw director Dornfeld, staff manager Donna and another guard, Ronnie approaching him with the police as they accompanied him and showed him a footage of Steven running from three people and Steven gulped.
"The two of them were later found beaten up and the third one escaped and someone called 9-1-1." Dornfeld said.
"Steven, what happened last night? Who did this?" Donna asked as Steven stared. So it wasn't a nightmare after all, but he wanted to forget what had happened.
"I have no idea. I hid in the bathroom ducts until they'd get away. When it was safe, I ran." Steven said.
"You can thank me later." Marc said.
Steven looked around, wondering who it was, when he saw his own reflection talking to him again in the mirror with an American accent.
"The third thief escaped. Did you see his face?" Ronnie asked.
"Uh… yeah. I think I can describe him." Steven said, wondering what was going on.
"We have a lot of work to do." Another voice said and Steven paled, unaware it was Khonshu, the Moon God of Vengeance talking… for now.
So far 'Moon Knight' seems decent like 'Hawkeye' and I hope it won't go to hell like 'WandaVision', 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier'.
As usual, Warren and Andrew getting theirs is satisfying to see.
So, what do you guys think?
