I am... to put it lightly, on a really intense writing drive! I'm already doing Chapter 6 because I'm really hoping people will enjoy it XD

"WHAAAAAT?!?!?!"

Carface hurled a metal can at Killer. "Ahhhh!" he cried, ducking behind the severed hood of a car. "WHADDYA MEAN SHE'S GONE?!?!?!" he screamed. He wore goggles, with a projector showing a field-scape. The vehicle he was sitting on top of was moving with the odd simulator, and periodically a popping came from it.

Killer peeked up at the livid pitbull. "Well- uh- boss, y'see, I-"

"SHUT UP!!!!!!" Carface hollered, beginning to throw a... temper tantrum. He ripped the cloth thing that blew with the fan beside him off, but it smacked into his face. "Wh-ahm! Oomph-! Gah!!! Morons!! I'm surrounded by MORONS!!!!!!" He grabbed the lever on the projector and pulled down on it with too much force, and it began to glitch; eventually the whole thing came down and crashed in front of Killer.

"Ahhhhhh!" he yelled, throwing his arms over his head fearfully. "But boss, it wasn't my fault! I'm being perfectly honest, y'see, and- a-a-" Carface threw something at him, but Killer ducked down before it hit him. He held up a hubcap as a shield. "Thunder was on duty, haha! Take it up with him!"

He crawled sheepishly over to Carface. "I love that girl. I want her baaaaaack. Nowwwwww," he growled, grabbing Killer's muzzle and letting go when he'd finished talking. "But, boss, I-"

Carface threw his head back."NOWWWWW!!!!" he roared, and Killer began to scramble around, terrified, and he kept making weird fearful noises as he fled.

The beautiful night sky made the moon's glow even brighter over the city of New Orleans. In the junkyard nearby, an old vehicle was lit up inside.

Charlie was sitting in the backseat, holding some green story book with Anne Marie right beside him. Itchy and Oaklyn are sitting there too, but Itchy looks less than impressed while Oaklyn is kind of just chilling, uninterested.

"So Robin Hood says to Little John... 'this sheriff is a real bimbo! Whaddya say we knock him off, and take the gold?'" Charlie pretended to read, but Anne Marie was thoroughly enjoying the story. "Not for ourselves, but, uh... for the poor's worth a' suckers who got to it in the first place."

Itchy grabbed the book from Charlie. "Hey, boss, where do you get that stuff? I mean- what is this guy, anyway? Givin' dough to the poor without takin' his cut?!" Oaklyn laid down, but kept her head up to listen a little. Anne Marie leaned over Charlie. "I like this story, Mr. Itchy!" she said. Itchy glared at her. "You would."

Charlie covered his mouth. "Shut up!" he whispered, glancing at the girl. "I'm tryin' to get the little brat to sleep. You mind?" Anne Marie shook Charlie a little. "Then what happens?"

Charlie pretended to know what he was talking about. "Well, then, uh-... uh..." He quickly snatched the book from Itchy, scaring him. "Gimme that."

Oaklyn sighed. "Boy... this sure is boring." Charlie ignored her. He cleared his throat, putting his free arm around Anne Marie. "So all the poor people was happy, 'cause... 'cause they wasn't poor now!" Anne Marie cuddled into Charlie's chest, making it puff up into his face when her head went upward; he glared, but otherwise didn't really care. "Yeah, but this 'Hood' guy's up fifty percent," Itchy said, still looking kind of angry. Charlie shrugged. "So what? His doll loved him, all the more!"

Anne Marie looked up at him. "Was she pretty?" Charlie laughed. "Haha, she was to die for!" On the book's page, Anne Marie gasped when she saw a man getting trampled by some dude's horses.

Bored, Oaklyn hopped out the window, and Itchy shoved his face into the pillow. "But-! The whole gang wondered... would Maid Marian... marry-... him?" Charlie said, licking his finger and flipping the pages rapidly. "And... she did!" He laughed, picking Anne Marie up as Itchy leapt out as well. Charlie set her down in the front seat on a blanket, knocking over the record player.

"Now go to sleep, ah? Mr. Itchy and Oaklyn, we all gotta... talk some business," he informed her quickly, pulling the curtains shut that separated the front and back seats. Charlie climbed out the window to speak with them.

Anne Marie pushed a couple things away so she could lay down, making a clanging noise. "Look, boss," Itchy whispered, "let's get somethin' straight about the kid...!"

"Goodnight, Mr. Itchy!" she called, "and goodnight... um..." Charlie grumbled. "Call her Oaklyn."

"Goodnight Oaklyn!"

Oaklyn rolled her eyes. "Goodnight, Anne Marie." Itchy said the same. "Uhhh- g'night, kid!" Then he continued to whisper to Charlie. "I don't like this. We're sittin' here readin' fairy tales to a little time bomb, just like she was Bo Peep and-" Then Itchy started to scratch himself. Oaklyn was standing behind the tire Itchy was inside of, wanting to ask Charlie why the heck he'd grabbed a random kid away from the guy who'd tried to kill him.

"What?" Charlie whispered back, tilting his head a little. Itchy kept talking. "At least we could stash her at the old church!" he finished. Charlie laughed, spinning around and facing him again, lying down. "Would you relax? Ha, Carface ain't gonna look for 'er here! He thinks I'm dead! Remember!" Charlie giggled into his paws, but Oaklyn spoke first. "Charlie, are you sure...? I mean, you took some little kid away from Carface, for God's sake! I mean, yeah, she had a bad... situation, but-"

Charlie cut her off. "Look, both of you worry way too much. He's not gonna find out! He thinks I'm dead. He's just gonna look around for a while, and then we're in the clear," he said. Then Charlie leaned back toward Itchy. "Now, get some sleep, pal." He pushed him into the tire. "Tomorrow we take this little time bomb to the horse track and we make ourselves a fortune!"

Anne Marie's voice called out from the car. "Horsies?!" She giggled, but, angry, Charlie glared at her and then Itchy. "Now look what you've done!" He turned around and prepared to climb into the car. "Eight o'clock," he muttered, casting another glare at Itchy, who crawled out of the tire. "Ok, boss, eight o'clock. I'll be there."

As Itchy walked away, Oaklyn looked up at Charlie. "You stayin' here, Snowflake?" She shook her head. "No, I'm gonna go clean up at the casino. I'll see you tomorrow."

Maybe it was the moonlight that made her fur glow so bright. Maybe he was just really tired... her eyes were so pretty... but whatever it was, it made him blush a little.

She noticed him staring at her. "Charlie...?"

He jumped. "Oh-... sorry. I'm real tired..." Oaklyn shrugged. "Ok. Night." Charlie nodded. "Night."

Charlie looked up at Anne Marie, who smiled at him; he climbed up and hopped into the backseat, lying down with a heavy sigh. He grabbed a pillow and threw it to the other side over his shoulder. "Here. Now go to sleep, huh?"

Anne Marie smiled sweetly. "Charlie, would you please tuck me in... please?"

Charlie chuckled. "Yeah." He grabbed a pink feather boa and placed it on her blanket, moving back to his side. "Charlie... may I please have a goodnight kiss?"

Charlie immediately looked through the curtain, surprised. "What?" Then he saw she was sincere. "Hmmmm... sure..." He quickly licked the child's cheek, but instantly whipped back to his side, disgusted. "Bluh! Bleck!!" He wiped his mouth- he couldn't believe he just did that!!

"Thank you for rescuing me," Anne Marie said. Backing up, Charlie grinned. "Ah, hah. Sure. It was, uh... really nothin', kid," he replied, settling down to sleep; he put a pillow under his head and sighed.

Squeaking came from Anne Marie's side, as she was trying to get comfortable. Charlie jumped. "Hey! Squeaker. Knock it off!" he growled, putting his head down again. "I'm sorry."

He was relaxing comfortably... well, until Anne Marie was right next to his face. Startled, Charlie bolted upright, groaning. "Charlie... your front seat's hard to me," the girl said, innocently tilting her head at him. "Oh yeah?" He cleared his throat, moving out of the way. "Ahem, alright... alright..." Anne Marie grinned at him and laid down on the big pillow he'd been on top of. "Alright...!" Then he muttered, "games..." putting his paws on the front seat. "Thank you, Charlie."

"Ah..." Charlie replied, hopping up into the front seat. "Now, uh... now go to sleep, huh?" He laid down and closed his eyes, but one again he was stopped. "Dear God..." Charlie glared. "Oh no..."

"Thank you so much for my new best friend, Charlie," Anne Marie said, and a disgruntled Charlie grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around him angrily, groaning. "And thank you for sending him to rescue me." Charlie poked his head through the curtains. "Pssst, hey!"

"And God bless Mr. Itchy..." Charlie nodded to himself. "Yeah, bless Itchy..."

"And God bless Charlie..."

Shocked, Charlie wrapped his head in the curtain, leaving only his muzzle sticking out. "Amen... oh! And please help me find a mommy and daddy," Anne Marie finished. Charlie cringed. "Whoo!" He pulled back and laid down again.

"Charlie?" Anne Marie called. By now Charlie was actually angry. "What?" The girl yawned. "Do you think... you-you could help me find a mommy and daddy...?" she asked, laying down on the pillow on her side. "Kid- I'll help you find the lost city of Atlantis!" Charlie cried, kicking his leg into the window. "Just please, please, go to sleep!!"

It was finally silent. Until it wasn't. "Charlie?"

"What?!"

Anne Marie whispered, "I have to go to the bathroom!" Charlie chuckled. "Ah... heheh... 'course..."
