The sun beat down on him as if he were a Chansey hit by Close Combat. Even with his hat turned backwards, he could feel the itch of a burn developing on his neck.
He wiped the dirt of the garden off his hands, sighing slightly.
A shadow fell over him, accompanied by the sound of shifting stone. From high above him, the Pokémon made a soft clanking sound.
Hilbert smiled, feeling cooler by the second. "Thank you, Golurk."
Golurk, though outside of his vision, nodded in response
Hilbert continued his attempt at gardening, lowering a Kasib Berry sapling into the soft soil.
Golurk posed like a Pawniard standing at attention, unmoving as he shaded Hilbert from the sun.
"Spring is only nice when it's cloudy," Hilbert said offhandedly. "You know what I mean?"
Golurk only clanked in response.
"Ah." Hilbert shrugged. "I guess that's fair."
