Snow day
When Ruby woke up, the first thing that she noticed was the comforting rise and fall of her sleeping husband's chest. Her legs had a subtle soreness to them that she had gotten used to as her eyes slowly opened, seeing the bare chest of her blonde knight. Blonde hairs carpeted his chest as she pulled her body closer against his to try and ignore the way the cold bit at her limbs.
"Good morning." His soft voice greeted her, making her smile softly before leaning forward in response to gently kiss the smooth skin of his chest, making him chuckle.
"Good morning, Jaune." She greeted back to him, playfully kissing up to his chest before she reached his face, leaning forward to rest her temple against his, feeling one of his calloused hands cup her face.
"You know, with the kids asleep, now might be our chance." He whispered to her, his eyes moving down her body making his intentions clear.
At his suggestion she flushed before she leaned forward to kiss his lips, smiling as she felt his stubble tickle her chin. "Well, we better make this time count then." She whispered back before the door was pushed open, making the two love birds break their kiss with a defeated sigh.
"Next time, then." Jaune whispered to her as they rolled away from each other, the two of them lying on their backs while a child ran into the room, his clumsy footsteps muffled by the carpeted floor.
"Mom! Dad! It's snowing!" A blonde child that looked like a carbon copy of his father– save for his bright silver eyes– called out, pointing towards the window. "Look!"
Jaune sighed with a smile as he looked over to the window that was being pointed at before he leaned forward. "The blinds are covering the window, Fawn." He teased playfully before he gently grabbed onto the bottom of the blinds, lifting it enough so that he and Ruby could see outside.
He was careful as he moved to make sure that the blanket that was covering his and his wife's body wouldn't fall, exposing them to their son, but Fawn was right.
The ground was covered in a thin carpet of snow, and so were the trees around them. Since they were inside, they wouldn't be able to see it, but the house was covered in snow as well, making Ruby hum.
"You're right, it is snowing. With how much snow there is outside right now, they might even cancel school." She said, raising a brow when she saw how giddy Fawn looked after he heard the news. "I said might, you still need to get ready." She added with a small smile. She didn't blame him; she was the same way when she was younger.
"Your mom and dad also need to get ready." Jaune murmured, leaning forward to playfully ruffle his hair. "How about you get dressed, and I'll get started on breakfast." He suggested, making Fawn nod before he ran out of the room.
There was a slight hiccup when he almost tripped stepping through the doorway, making his two parents smile fondly.
"You know, he reminds me of you a lot." Ruby teased, making Jaune playfully roll his eyes.
"At least this way he won't cause any explosions." Jaune teased back before he leaned forward to press his lips against hers softly, hoping that they wouldn't get any more interruptions as his arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her in close.
