Chapter Fourteen
The Craftsman…
Charlie had fallen asleep after his phone call with Colby about the progress of the case and he was just feeling tired all of a sudden.
Charlie was walking in some kind of building, which looked like one of the apartments Don lived in over the years but much nicer and more warm feeling around there.
"Hello?" Charlie called out, wondering why he was there and if he just got lost somewhere, though that seemed likely.
He noticed a figure sitting on the couch there, like he was waiting for someone to come over but it wasn't until he got closer did he realize who it was.
"Don?" Charlie said in shock to see his brother there.
"Hey, Buddy, long time no see." Don said with his classic smile
"How did.. How did you get here?" Charlie asked, as he slowly made his way to the coach and found himself hugging his dead brother.
"Relax, Chuck, you're dreaming, no worries?" Don said easily with his trademark smile
"Oh." Was all Charlie could say before he sat next to his brother and just hugged him
It was a few minutes before the two brothers pulled out of their hug and Charlie was ready to talk.
"I miss you, Don." Charlie said
"I miss you too, Charlie, but I am proud of you for how you have been dealing with everything." Don said with a smile
"Thanks, though I wish you were there to see your nephew." Charlie said sadly
"So do I but know that I will always be with you, Buddy." Don said with a smile before disappearing again and then everything faded to black.
Charlie woke up, feeling a little better but sad that he would never see his brother alive again but he knew he would always have his dreams and memories of him.
He made his decision and decided to call Colby to tell him what he had decided.
"Colby? Yeah, it's me, do you have a minute?" Charlie asked as he went on to explain what he was planning to do.
