A barren desert wasteland surrounded him. Spread across were countless swords of various make and quality, seemingly acting as grave markers for their owners. They all had one thing in common.
They were all fake.
No, they were more like counterfeits, knock-offs, forgeries to the highest degree, but at the cost of integrity.
Indeed, these swords were disposable. Not one of them was original.
He wasn't original.
Indeed, he is not a real person. Only someone acting on behalf of borrowed ideals.
Many see him as naive, some suicidal. In reality, he was a hypocrite.
He would put the lives of others over himself, seeing himself as nothing more than one of his cheap disposable swords.
'I am the bone of my sword.'
These are the words that "That Guy" lived and died by. More "Sword" than human.
He wasn't "Him."
His ideals weren't wrong.
But with the help of Rin, he doesn't have to follow the path alone. When he goes astray, he knows she'll be there to guide him back down the right path.
He will never be "Him."
"Kanshou and Bakuya: Gan Jiang and Mo Ye. With the mother used in the forging, and the father killed by the King of Wu, their son took the yang blade in vengeance and reunite the married blades. Unable to do so, an assassin offers to kill him, take his head and sword, and get close to the King of Wu under cover of collecting the son's bounty to exact revenge for the son."
"Caladbolg II: The Fake Spiral Sword. An abomination created by "Him" to act as an arrow."
"Hrunting: Hound of the Red Plains. Or at least, that is what it should have been if "He" didn't make it aerodynamic."
"Excalibur…" Or at least a shell of its glory. A remnant of the Holy Grail War.
"Sword of Rupture: E-"
"SHIROU!"

He was startled from his faux repose. He looked upon the Hill of Swords in concern.
"I felt a great disturbance in the Root, as if a King's voice suddenly cried out in rage and was suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."
/
And that is why you don't litter kids.

AN: I might get back into my "It's tough being a Goon" story, though I need motivation, time, and a semblance of what I even planned for it. Still no word on "Witches End."
