Scott and Warren chase eachother.
(X-Men: First Class)
Dreams. Sometimes they are much better than reality. Aren't they? A place where the shock of reality leaves to let you follow the path for a life you've always wanted. A place where peace can exist. A place where you can exist.
That's what it felt like when Scott was seemingly dreaming. Warren was there with his glorious mane and everything. And Scott could finally control my powers.
God, it felt so real that he didn't want to leave. It was the first time they had gotten close without the need for Scott to keep Warren at a distance because he was always afraid of hurting him with his powers.
The moment Scott knew that he could control his powers, he smiled wide at Warren, hoping that the other could read his expression. The Angel smiled back and at that moment Scott was gone for him.
That day they had chased eachother. Flirted. Blissfully happy and unaware that they were dreaming. Scott used a low level optic blast to prevent Warren from flying ahead as the blonde flew at top speed, thoroughly enjoying being chased by Scott. They were playing a game of catch with one another and Scott had never felt this alive and comfortable.
He ran after Warren, laughing and using his optic blasts which didn't hurt the avian one bit.
Warren flipped himself in the air and dodged another optic blast. "Haha! Missed me!" He teased Scott and pulled his tongue out.
"Not yet." Scott grinned and lept at Warren in the air. Warren grabbed Scott and flew them in the sky as they explored the unseen terrain. They landed on a small hill which overlooked the dreamscape.
Warren kissed Scott on his neck and flew up in the air. "Catch me if you can." He grinned and left Scott to happily chase after him.
"Oh I will." Scott laughed and ran down the hill, using his optic blast that missed Warren every now and then.
Bobby and Hank who now appeared in the terrain had witnessed the chase and had gotten worried that Scott would hurt Warren. But when Scott proved to a terrified Bobby that he couldn't hurt him, with a quick optic blast, Hank was convinced it was a dream because since when did their fearless leader ever let loose.
The four argued about whose dream it really was and Warren was adamant that it was his dream. Scott was dejected that this was just a dream and his powers weren't under control in reality. All his hopes about being with Warren had vanished.
They soon realised it was Jean's dream they were all a part of. Her telepathic powers must have pulled their subconscious in the dream. She was dreaming too.
The boys saw an imaginary construct of Scott and Jean splashing in a pool. Embarrassed by the scene Scott turned to Warren to apologise.
However, Warren merely stated that it was just a dream. He encouraged him to merge in to the dream because it would bear no consequences.
Scott looked away, thinking, how much he wanted to be with Warren instead. He secretly grabbed Warren's hands in his.
And Warren's smile said everything he had wanted to know. They only wanted to dream of eachother.
