Hello everyone who is watching this, I'm PapeRony95. It's my first time that I'm publishing stories on this site. It's also the first time that I'm publishing a story in English (It's not my native language. This is made with Google Translator and an English-Spanish dictionary, so expect some broken English in my stories). This time I've brought a love story between my favorite Pokémon. It's the second time I publish a love story on this site (the first one is in Spanish), and with established characters, so there could be parts that are out of character. I did my best I could do and this is the result. I had planned to publish this on February 14th to celebrate Valentine's Day. Enjoy.
Under the training tree
Every time Ash Ketchum, a young trainer, completed a trip, with successes and failures, left his companion Pokémon that he had captured during his journeys in the Professor's Oak laboratory, to start fresh a new journey with his partner Pikachu. The trainers' Pokémon who didn't used them were in that place. It was a very spacious green land with many biodiversity and habitats. It had lakes, grasslands, woods, mountains, etc. It was a place that any Pokémon could enjoy, whether resting under the sun or interacting with other Pokémon, such as fighting or play with each other. Ash made several trips in various regions and he had captured and taken care several Pokémon in his adventures. Bulbasaur, Swellow, Totodile, Pignite, Gliscor, to mention a few. They rest in the ranch as their trainer kept traveling to become a Pokémon master.
Two Pokémon he had got on his journey through Unova were Oshawott and Snivy: the first one is the Sea Otter Pokémon, a water type and male; while the second one is the Grass Snake Pokémon, grass type and female. Oshawott was proud, hyperactive some times and a little bit clumsy; while Snivy is calmer, serious and reserved. Both of them had their good and bad moments, as many victories as defeats in combat. After the journey of the young trainer Ash, he wanted to leave his Pokémon in the Professor Oak's ranch located in the Kanto region. Since he left Oshawott and Snivy with Oak, they both went on with their own lives on the terrain.
In a sunny day with some clouds in the sky, Oshawott was walking through the ranch, enjoying the day as he sang happily. He went to a lake to swim quietly, he was playing a lot with Totodile and Gible until getting exhausted, he wanted to relax after all the fuss. The lake he wanted to go was located away from the other Pokémon. It took a while but he could arrive. There wasn't any Pokémon around there. Once he was there, he jumped into the water for a splash. He floated backwards so that the sun could warm up his face and the rest of the body in the air. The Sea Otter Pokémon was swimming happily as he traveled through the lake making circles. After swimming a long time, he stopped while floating in the water. The ambient was warm and quiet, very nice. He felt tired and decided to sleep on the shore. He put his scalchop like a pillow and fell asleep.
Nap minutes later, Oshawott felt a noise at a considerable distance. He woke up confused and wanted to know what or who was the one making that noise. He saw that, up a raised hill, there was a Pokémon who was dealing hard blows to a huge tree. He observed carefully to see who it was: it was about Snivy. He haven't seen her for a long time since they arrive at the ranch. As he used to see her during the trip with Ash through Unova, she mostly likes being alone and away from others. Just by seeing her without other Pokémon around her, the water type felt something for her in the inside. He felt that she needed someone to accompany her, at least to talk to her for a while, because he felt that she was very lonely. So he walked towards her to talk to her for a moment.
He saw that she was whipping as he approached, using Vine whip repeatedly at the tree trunk. This made the tree shake a little and the leaves were seeing falling to the ground, the marks of the attacks on the wood were also noticeable. The otter wanted to approach the grass-type Pokémon, however, something said to him that it wouldn't turn out as expected. She was cold with everyone, she might even ignore him completely. He felt a little fear and shyness inside for Snivy, but he had to be brave to talk with her. He watched as she kept hitting hard and fast before he spoke.
"Hah! Hah...! Haah!"
"Eh… Hello…how's it going, Snivy?"
When she heard and recognized his voice, Snivy stopped for a moment and turned around.
"Oh, hi, Oshawott. Long time no see."
"Yes. What are you doing?"
"I'm training, don´t you see?"
"Yeah, I'm seeing. Very busy, I suppose."
"Of course, if you will excuse me."
She continued lashing hardly, furiously and quickly at the tree trunk. The Sea Otter Pokémon just wanted to talk with her for a moment. He knew that strike up a conversation with her would be difficult. Most of the time she spent alone and didn't used to talk to others; but he wanted to try anyway, even if it fell on deaf ears. Snivy was his friend who accompanied her during the Ash's journey after all.
"Hey, why are you training?" he asked still slightly shy.
"Huah! To make me stronger Haah!" while whipping.
Oshawott was intrigued by her answer.
"And why do you want to get stronger? The goal of fighting to have more strength is not here."
Suddenly she stopped hitting. That question left her thoughtful. The Grass Snake Pokémon turned around to speak to him.
"What do you mean with that?"
"Well, what I mean is that here there's no need to fight or train to get stronger. We and the other Ash's Pokémon are resting after making their respective trips with him. You seem to be preparing for a fight against a powerful opponent, but I'm sorry to say that you won't find them here."
"The truth is I had been training a few times with other Pokémon, like Sceptile. He helped me to strengthen myself quite enough."
"Aside from him and the others, are there others who can serve you as an opponent? Why do you want to get stronger if here there is no point to be?"
"Listen," getting serious, "here are several Pokémon who have come far and that have won a lot fights. Look for example Sceptile, he could beat a Darkrai, a very powerful Pokémon, I was told that Charizard was victorious when he fought against an Articuno, and Pikachu got to tie with a Latios. All of them have accomplished a feat that makes them recognizable, except me."
"It's correct, all you just said is true," he commented a little discouraged, "but if I remember correctly, you beat Trip's Servine once."
"Yes, but I came off worst the second time I faced him. Hmph," she said a bit angry, "it was a humiliating defeat for me."
"Yeah, you're right." He manifested disappointed. "Speaking of Trip, did I tell you once that I saw Pikachu lose against his Snivy that just came out of the lab?"
"Yes, you told me once, it was a hard low blow, it could easily give a bad impression of Pikachu after that battle."
"In his defense, he said he lost his electric attacks by a strange and powerful force."
"Anyway, the only thing I want is to strengthen myself in any way possible, for now without help."
"Okay, as you want."
Oshawott wanted to leave and leave her alone with her training, but he came out with a brilliant idea. He said to her:
"Hey, Snivy."
"And now what do you want?" she asked with anger.
"Why don't you fight me?" giving a smirk.
"What?" She was surprised by the question.
"That if you want to do a battle with me."
"Why do you want to do that?"
"To test how strong you have become."
"Mmm… I don't know, Oshawott. You are a water type and I am a grass type, I could easily beat you."
"It doesn't matter if I lose, what I wanna know is how much you have strengthen with the training."
Snivy was thinking for a moment, she said she didn't want help with her training, but she didn't want to reject his proposal for being her friend, he would be sad for not doing it. The snake didn't want to see him like that, it reminded her those time when he was rejected by several Pokémon because he wanted to be mate with them. She would only do it once and nothing more. She made his decision.
"Okay, I will fight you, just this time."
"Very well!" he expressed excited.
They went to a flat open area and positioned themselves for combat.
"Are you ready, Oshawott?"
"Yes, I'm ready."
The battle started. Oshawott used Aqua jet in the first place and went full speed, but Snivy dodged with ease doing a big jump. He hit the ground. She, while in the air, used Leaf Blade, doing a few turns until the leaf of her tail hit him. The Sea Otter was able to avoid the attack at the last minute. She landed hard. He thought fast and used Tackle. He ran speedily and hit her directly. She didn't take much damage, then she backed off to distance herself.
The grass type used Vine Whip. From her shoulders sprouted long pods to drive him away. The water-type Pokémon used his scalchop to protect himself from the lashes. Once the movement is finished, he used Hydro Pump. To counteract, Snivy used Leaf blade in the immense stream of water. She was able to restrain for a few seconds until Oshawott stopped attacking with Hydro Pump.
The otter went to attack her closely. He used Razor Shell. The object was transformed into a sword and he ran to her. The Grass Snake wanted to stop him with consecutive attacks of Vine whip. He swung his scalchop against the vines repeatedly and precisely; nevertheless, a pod hit in the center of the object, flying off and fell to the ground over there. Worried for his valued scalchop, he ran quickly to pick it up. He was vulnerable, and the grass type Pokémon took it to her advantage.
She used Attract. With a single wink, a horde of floating hearts headed towards Oshawott, who had picked up his item seconds before. He was confused while looked to the hearts surrounding him, until they hit. The Sea Otter fell madly in love, without possibility to attack. Snivy wanted to end it with a powerful Leaf Storm. Hundreds of leaves went towards the water type Pokémon, the damage from the impact was massive, it was such that he fainted from a single attack. Oshawott fell defeated. The battle was over. Snivy took the victory, it wasn't very complicated for her.
The snake walked towards the Sea Otter Pokémon to see if he was okay. She could be tough and cold at times, but she was Oshawott's friend and friends always care about their own.
"Are you all right?" she asked.
"Yeah," he responded tired, "a little sore but fine."
"I'm glad you are okay, I could have hurt you more if you were still standing to fight."
With a vine Snivy helped him up. She asked him:
"And what do you think of the combat?"
"It was great! Although I'd have liked if it had lasted longer. I'd never had a battle with you since the time Ash tried to catch you. You're so strong!"
"Yes, but not enough. I still have a long way to go. You can go now, I have things to do."
"Okay. Bye, Snivy."
"Goodbye, Oshawott."
Snivy went walking towards the tree to continue with her training. While Oshawott observed her for a minute as she lashed the tree trunk. He wanted to continue the conversation for a little bit more, but he thought he had to do it for another time. Later he left the place to leave her alone.
Days had passed since the two Pokémon struck up a conversation, in which Oshawott asked Snivy for a battle, she being the winner. The water-type Pokémon left her alone to she could do her training. The grass snake was giving thudding and repeated blows to the trunk of the same tree for a long time. While the Sea Otter was watching her from afar without being seen, he thought that if she stopped he could talk with Snivy like the other time. She continued like this for a few long and intense minutes.
Everything was normal until the Sea Otter Pokémon saw her stop, he supposed it would be the right time to talk to her. The water type Pokémon went walking, but, something unexpected happened, he didn't know the worst could occur. He saw Snivy collapse to the ground. Oshawott was very scared. Worried, he ran as fast as he could towards the grass type Pokémon. Upon arrival he asked altered:
"Snivy, are you okay?!"
She couldn't answer. She was panting very hard and shivering frenetically. Oshawott deduced that she ended up very exhausted after the violent training without rest. He thought of what he could do, something occurred to him in mind.
"Calm down, don't move from here, I'll go find a berry!"
The Sea Otter Pokémon went quickly to the forest to find a berry. After a speedy search, he could find an Oran berry. He came back with her as fast as possible. She was still lying on the ground. When approaching, he notice that her breathing could moderate a little, at least she could speak with weakness.
"Oshawott…" she gasped.
"Eat this berry, it'll give you energy, but first lemme get you up."
With his superior limbs grabbed the hands of the Grass Snake and lifted her up hard. Once she sat down, Oshawott handed her the Oran berry.
"Thank you…" she said still tired.
She ate the food slowly, bit a bit her energy returned to her weary body.
"Are you okay now?"
"A little better…"
"You made me worry a lot."
"Yes… sorry to put you like this. The truth is… I thought I was not… training hard enough… So I started to train harder."
"Snivy, it's not good for you or anyone to try very hard training. No wonder you would collapse, but I didn't notice before. You won't get stronger if you keep forcing yourself to train. You need to understand your limits."
"Well… no matter… thank you very much for helping me." Giving a slight smile.
"You're welcome. You just rest, it's enough training for today."
"All right then."
"Till then, Snivy."
"Goodbye, Oshawott."
The water type Pokémon left the place to let her rest quietly. He was very alarmed when he saw her collapse without prior notice, but at least he was relieved that she was fine after helping her.
The next day, Oshawott wanted to see Snivy to know how she was. He thought she was training with the same energy as the day before, ignoring the advice he gave. He went to the tree where she used to train, however, for some reason, she wasn't present. The otter wondered why she wasn't there, he thought maybe his friend was training somewhere else. He turned around to leave, but he heard a voice in the distance.
"Hey, Oshawott!"
He turned around again to see who was. It was Snivy, who had two big apples in her vines. When she saw him turning around she started to run towards his location.
"Oh, hey there, Snivy" he said slightly surprised.
When she came to his side, the Sea Otter asked her curious:
"What are you doing with those apples? Are you gonna eat them both?"
"No, I'm going to eat only one."
"Then, so what is the other apple for?"
"It's for you."
"Fo-fo-for me?" blushing a little bit, "Seriously?"
"Yes, I have to thank you for yesterday somehow. Take one before I regret… please."
"Al-alright… thank you so much."
With his little arms grabbed one. Oshawott asked:
"And well… Do you want me to leave you alone now?"
"No, I want us to eat together the apples."
"Seriously? Why do you ask me that? I notice you very strange today."
"I want to be with you for a moment."
"Snivy, you're turning a bit red. Are you sure that you are okay?"
"Of course yes, can't I be next to my teammate for a while?"
"Okay…"
"So shut up and… sorry, stop asking me question for a while and enjoy eating the apple that I brought you."
"Mmm…"
She asked angrily and raising her voice:
"Do you want please sit down with me at once?!"
The otter was very nervous by Snivy's direct and cutting question.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I wanted so say: would you like to sit next to me? I ask you in the kindest way possible."
"Well… yeah, alright. Let's eat together."
They both sat together to eat the apples. They were very sweet and juicy. The two Pokémon enjoyed their delicious taste for every bite they gave.
"They are tasty, right?" she said after trying.
"Yes, very delicious." Happily.
"I chose from several that were in a tree, it took a quite a while, but it was worth it for how they taste".
In the inside, the Sea Otter Pokémon thought why Snivy was being so strange, she tried to be nice with him in that day, she behaved differently the day he wanted to talk to her. She was it wasn't very common to see her this friendly with anyone. What is she planning? A while later, Oshawott's apple was in half, on the other hand, Snivy's apple was a little more than a quarter. The Sea Otter Pokémon was quite gluttonous, but he tried to eat moderately while he was next to Snivy.
"We haven't talked this closely for a long time." he spoke.
"Yes."
"I feel that you've had more contact with Pignite or Pikachu than me during our journey with Ash."
"It's true. I wonder why we were that distant."
"It possibly was a thing of the destiny."
"It could be. I remember that once I saved you from being attacked by a Galvantula."
"Yeah, you helped me at the right time."
"For the next time you have to pay more attention to what happens around you."
"I'll keep it in mind."
After a few seconds eating, Snivy gave a heavy sigh. Oshawott heard it.
"What's wrong, Snivy?" he asked worried.
"The thing is sometimes I miss Ash and Pikachu a lot." she said sorry.
"Yeah, I miss them a lot too." With the same feeling.
"I have not seen them for a long time, where could they be now?"
"I have no idea, very far from here I suppose.
She sighed again.
"Al least they are having a good time on their trip."
"Yeah, I agree with you. Indeed, all the Ash's Pokémon from here miss him, Bayleef is the one who misses him the most."
"Right. I don't know when he will see his previous Pokémon again."
"I dunno either."
"I hope it's soon."
"Same. Only the time will tell."
They kept eating their respective apples for a while.
"Hey, Snivy," Oshawott spoke, "can I ask you something?"
"Yes, what?"
"How was your life before Ash caught you?"
There was a moment of silence before asking:
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yeah, well, if you want. I'm not forcing you to say it, it's your decision."
Snivy thought for a moment until she gave her answer.
"All right."
"Are you sure to tell me?"
"The truth is yes, I want to tell someone of trust about it, like you. I want to take a weight off my shoulders."
"Tell me then, I hear you."
"Well, I belonged to a trainer along with other Pokémon before. He/she was a good person, who cared and took care of his/her Pokémon. Unfortunately over time that person was changing for the worst.
"He/she no longer cared about his/her Pokémon, each battle we lost he/she told us we were terrible. He/she stopped taking care of us like he/she did before. It was very frequent because we lost most of the time, he/she looked like he/she was going to give up, but he/she had the idea that we were going to improve with harshness. He/she was more and more heartless with us. Meanwhile I had to adapt to his/her abuse and unbearable ideas and customs. I guess that's why I look quiet and cold most of the time.
"A disastrous day came where a Pokémon, for losing a battle, was badly injured at the hands of my previous trainer. I heard the screams, cries, calls for help, and pleas form the Pokémon. I thought that, maybe, later, my trainer was going to change and become the good person he/she was before, but that act of cruel abuse made me change my mind.
"After that moment I abandoned him/her definitively, and that is how my contempt for those kind of trainers began."
"I'm sorry to hear that from your past." getting sad and compassionate.
"Continuing with the story, I was wandering and living like a wild Pokémon, seeking to survive whatever on his own. It was a rough and difficult life for me, which made me think that I could not trust in anyone. One day, when I was looking for food, I found some humans who were cooking some buns. It was about Ash, Iris and Cilan. With a lot of ingenuity I could take the food and eat them calmly, before they noticed my presence.
"Then Ash tried to catch me with a Poké Ball, but I was able to get out of there. Next he sent his Pikachu to attack me. Before he launched another attack, I used Attract to calm him down. I used Vine Whip to attack him, but Ash covered him up to protect him. I was completely shocked by his action, for a long time I have not seen a trainer protect his Pokémon from any attack, an act of courage to take care of his Pokémon. I thought in that moment that there might be a good bond between trainers and Pokémon, but I flatly refuse to believe it and ran away from there."
"I see. And what happened next?"
"After the failed attempt of Team Rocket to catch me, I went to rest on the top of a mountain. I tried to sleep, but that scene of Ash protecting Pikachu did not let me get to sleep. Could actually exist that a trainer loved his Pokémon to the point of risking his own life? It left me very thoughtful in that moment. What I did not know is that Ash followed me to catch me. I tried everything to get rid of him and his other Pokémon. That is how I met you."
"I remember now. We fought each other and beat me while I was under the influence of Attract."
"Right, I lent Ash to a swamp where I watched him sink, and how his friends helped him to get him out of there. After walking down a road, I arrived to a river to drink water and rest. I thought I was rid of them, however, despite all the obstacles I put on them, they managed to follow me.
"There was something in Ash that interested me, the trainer was very persistent and determined, who did not give up easily. He was an exceptional youngster for me. I wanted us to fight to see how good a trainer he was. He sent Tepig, who could not beat me thanks to the Attract move. I wanted him to continue fighting with me to see if he was really worthy. There he sent me Pidove, I imagined that I would have the victory again just using Attract; however, for my surprise, Pidove was female. Things got serious. He wanted to catch me however he could, but I was not going to give up so easily.
"After a hard battle that left me quite weak, I thought that, for everything I did to stop him and that he was still with a deep desire to catch me, and that he had loyalty, compassion and trust for his Pokémon, I told myself that he did deserve my recognition, so I got caught to join his team. From that point I met him and his friends and their Pokémon. Sometimes I think of them and I miss them, well, not so much of Iris's Emolga, but we were companions after all."
"Now I understand all."
"Yes, what a journey that I have taken."
"And have you ever wondered if you wanna go back to your old trainer?"
"No, I would like to forget that person completely. I'm happier belonging to Ash."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"Thank you for hear my story, but how about you?"
"A-a-about me?"
"Yes, how was your life before traveling with Ash?"
Oshawott didn't feel like saying it, but as he heard Snivy's story, he had no choice but to tell his story to put the things at hand.
"Well, okay. Where do I begin? Umm… I… I was before in the Professor Juniper's lab. I got along well with her and with the other Professor's Pokémon, some left and new ones arrived. For a long time I wanted a young aspiring to be a trainer to choose me as a partner and to travel together. I always showed my best face and pretended to be adorable so that they chose me, but I thought in one point that that technic wouldn't work.
"When a young man arrived to the lab he/she always chose Snivy or Tepig, I was disappointed and sad seeing how the others left with their trainers, while I stayed in the lab. I thought that for the next they'd choose me, for sure. The days went by, then weeks went by, even months I could say."
"Poor situation you were in, right?"
"That's right, I lost hope more and more as the time went by, till one day a young man came who wanted his first Pokémon, and who was accompanied by another trainer. Me and my pals took us out of the Poké Balls to introduce ourselves. I used my technic to being adorable to the eye so that he would select me. That's when I saw Ash." smiling, "He… he told me I was cute… never before a human said such words to me. I felt praised… and… happy. But I realize that he wasn't the trainer that he wanted his first Pokémon, in that case it was the young man called Trip. I was totally shocked to see how he chose Snivy."
"That must have hurt a lot."
"That would mean another time for someone to choose me. I didn't know how long it would take for that to happen. After getting very depressed, I remembered Ash and those nice words he said to me, I felt a lot of appreciation for him, to the point of escaping from the lab and following him wherever he went. I saw how Ash and Iris were in trouble with the Team Rocket, so I had to intervene, and I rescued their Pokémon.
"In that time I didn't have the enough courage to tell him that I wanted to be with him, till one day I could gather my courage and get closer. I begged him that Ash take me on his journey, and he finally accepted. I felt so happy in that moment. After a long time in the lab waiting for someone to pick me up, Ash chose me to travel together."
"Your story was very emotional. I liked it."
"Really? Thank you so much. I loved your story too."
"Thank you too."
They continued eating the apples for a while, until Oshawott wanted to say something:
"Hey, I have a question."
"Tell me."
"Where does your desire to become stronger come from?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"I feel like you were avoiding my question days ago."
"It's right. Umm… do you remember that we previously talked about wanting to become stronger?"
"Yes."
"And that we also talked about the former Pokémon of Ash?"
"Yeah, I also remember that."
"It turns out I want to get stronger, like the other Ash's Pokémon, because I don't want to be classified as a weakling."
"A weakling?"
"Yes, "saying in a sad tone, "I feel like I was a Pokémon who was useless and don't contributed anything on the journey with Ash. I feel small compared to the other Pokémon who have won more fights than me. It's been time since that journey that changed my life. I desperately wanted to become strong to be recognized for the others, and not to be forgotten like the other Pokémon of Ash. I have tried so hard to try become stronger," completely beaten, "but now I realize it's too late to remedy. I feel like others said me that I'm a weak and bad Pokémon compared to the rest. It's not easy they treat me like this, do you understand?! It's for that I have been training without rest. I don't want to be a weakling!"
In that, Oshawott saw Snivy draw a tear from one eye.
"Snivy, are you crying?"
She turned her head to other side, she didn't want that the otter saw her so devastated. Oshawott never saw Snivy so sad, like she was about to cry. He felt very sorry for her, it was so much that he gave her a hug to comfort her. The Grass Snake Pokémon was confused by what he did.
"Oh, Snivy," about to cry, "don't be sad, please, I don't wanna see you like this. I… I believe that your words identify with me.
"What?" once the hug was over.
"About being a failure, not having won many fights, being forgotten in the future, being a bad and weak Pokémon. It's like a description of my journey with Ash, similar to yours. I feel like I was wasting time and acting like a buffoon the whole trip. It's really horrible to think that way, the truth is harsh and the destiny was it too with us, and in the end it abandoned us to being forgotten. Don't feel bad, because I've lived it too."
Snivy, about to cry, hugged him back but with more force. She said to him:
"Thank you so much for understand, Oshawott. Thank you so much."
"It's alright, Snivy, it's alright."
Tears ran down their faces as the long, strong, but loving embrace lasted. Once it finished, their superior limbs wiped away the tears. Oshawott told her to cheer her up:
"Don't be sad. What does it matter what other say about us, we are happy as we are now, you understand me?"
"Yes, that is in the past. Thank you for help me with that."
"There's no need for you to thank me, you and me are pals after all.
"Very well. Let's eat what is left of the apples, ¿right?"
"Of course."
They started eating their respective apples again. Both finished them after a while. The peacefulness of the environment was interrupted by a question of the grass type Pokémon.
"I have a question that I want to ask you for a long time."
"What? Ask me."
"Talking about being a buffoon, I realize that you have always fallen strongly in love with other Pokémon, like Iris's Emolga.¬"
"Yeah, what's wrong with it?"
"Well, I have always wondered, why have not you fallen in love with me or Unfezant at the time if we are females?"
"Mmm… nice question. This… I… I would like to answer you that yes, I always fall in love easily with other Pokémon. Why I didn't fall in love with you or Unfezant, it may be associated with this: I always find out what happens outside, y'know?"
"Right, when there is something that you have interest, you leave your Poké Ball of your own free will."
"It turns out, when Ash wanted to try to catch you, I thought at that moment that you'd be part of the team sooner or later, like Unfezant was when she was a Pidove."
"Yes. And?"
"Well…"
He started to blush, he really wanted to confess his feelings to Snivy, and he had found the right time to tell it with total sincerity.
"Well… once you joined, I… I didn't wanna be a bother to you in the team for having a crush… on you."
"Do you want to tell that you did not show me your love for me to the outside because we are in the same Ash's team?"
"Yeah…" blushing like the color the apples they had eaten, "I've also thought that I could be a decision of a higher being, that controls our actions so as not to show loving affection between us, because would be weird to see two Pokémon in love with each other who are in the same team."
"Do you believe that too?"
"A bit. The point is… the truth is… I wanna confess… that I've fall in love with you since the first time I saw you. I'm telling you right now and with all my heart, I don't wanna keep hiding it from you anymore. I love you, Snivy."
Oshawott was tenderly holding her little green hands, like if he was formally proposing to her. Snivy wasn't so surprised, she always thought Oshawott was a Pokémon who falls in love very easily.
"It seems that my Attract move hit you very hard on the head."
"Yeah, heh, heh, heh…" as he pulled his arms out of her hands.
Oshawott was disappointed in the inside, he felt that she had rejected him like the other female Pokémon that he met during his journey through Unova. The water type already lost count of how many time he was rejected, and it hurts him to accept it. He faked those laughs so as not to show his pain deep in his heart. Snivy continued:
"You know, because of how you behave, you seem cute and funny to me."
"Seriously?" He was delighted with surprise. He had never heard those beautiful word coming from Snivy.
"Yes. You always seemed to me like this during our journey with Ash in Unova; although yes, you act like a buffoon sometimes, and more when you fall madly in love, despite trying to be chivalrous with the females."
"Umm… thanks, I suppose."
There was a silence of short duration until Snivy:
"I would like to give you a gift for all the time that we have been talking."
"Really? What?"
"Close your eyes first."
"Okay, as you say."
Without much waiting. Snivy closed her eyes and gave Oshawott a little kiss on the nose.
"What was that?" confused, still eyes closed, "I felt like you touched my nose with your finger or something."
Snivy couldn't believe his ignorant words. She thought he would know the first time when she kissed.
"Argh, for the love of…!"
Immediately Snivy took his paws, closed her eyes, tilted her head a little, approached him and gave him a strong kiss on the mouth. In that instant the Sea Otter Pokémon opened his eyes to see what was happening: he saw the Grass Snake Pokémon giving him a warm and tender kiss while their hands were together. He was very surprised. He turned red like a tomato. He had never felt such a pleasant feeling in his life. He just got carried away by the cute and lovely kiss. Once the great show of affection from Snivy was over, Oshawott asked her still confused:
"Snivy, why…? What is the reason of all this love?"
"Well, I always saw you very lonely and in need of having someone by your side, and desperate to have a mate. I felt a little sorry for you in the inside. I always see you like a friend; however, for the unfortunate love situation you were in, I was gaining interest on you as time went by on our trip with Ash, to the point of falling in love with you, so to speak, even if it were a bit. I hid it from everyone so that no one would suppose that I'm soft for being in love.
"Even though that love was repressed some time later until I forgot it completely, it reappeared yesterday when you helped me because I was exhausted. I felt the love for you again. I thought I had to gradually show my affection, thanking you with an apple was just the beginning; but, because of the time we were talking, I thought I had to show my hidden love now or never.
"I see. No wonder you behaved strange today, trying to be nice to me"
"Yes. And you, why did not you tell me you were in love with me?
"Well… I thought before that… you were gonna reject me like the other female Pokémon. It happened with Emolga, with Vanilluxe, with Osharina, and lastly that Cinccino when we were in the cruise ship; with others that I was meeting during the trip. It really hurts a lot the feeling of being rejected, and I'm tired that the others laugh of my constant misfortunes I. thought that with you, because of how you are, there was no chance that you accept me as your mate."
"Don't be silly. Even if I am cold with everyone, I will always accept you as you are. I kissed you for something, because I like you. It's the least I can do to you, after what we have lived together during the trip through Unova, not forgetting that you helped me when I was exhausted from training, especially what we have talked about for this time. You let me know that I'm not alone in this world."
"But… I thought you liked being alone than in the company of another."
"Yes, however, after all you have done and talked to me, I think I'm happier with you." smiling, "I love you, Oshawott."
Oshawott was completely surprise by her warm and sweet words, he had no choice but to say what he really felt inside for her. He told her with tenderness:
"And I love you too, Snivy."
They both held hands and gave each other a long, loving, affectionate and tender kiss that they completely enjoyed. Once the kiss finished, she said:
"Let's celebrate by eating another juicy and delicious apple."
"Very well! Oh, I almost forget."
"What?"
"What about the others? Will we have tell them about our love?"
"Hmm… no, I don't think so. I want it to be a secret between us. Are you agree with me?"
"Yeah, let it be our little secret."
"So be it. Come on, apples don't pick themselves!"
"I'm coming, wait for me!
Both of them went to looking for some big apples to celebrate their new love. They agreed that the tree Snivy used for training, it'd be the reunion place. It was an impossible love to forget for both Pokémon. Snivy put aside the idea of getting stronger to be nearby to Oshawott, but if they wanted have fun with something, they could do a friendly match. She left behind the thought of seeking to be recognized by all, she preferred to be forgotten by others, as long as she was with Oshawott by her side. Oshawott, after a long time, he had finally found a mate, or rather, the mate had found him.
NOW I made some grammatical corrections to make it a little bit better. I hope you like this story, rate and review to see what I can improve to the next time. Bye-bye.
