Kazuma gasped for air as he watched the monster walk away, to the spectators, he looked as if he was ready to use his strongest attack.
They wouldn't be wrong, but his attack wouldn't be restrained like when he used his blast skill, no even if the monster did kill him, he had gathered enough power to unleash an explosion so strong that it rivaled Megumings.
Unbeknownst to Kazumahis fight had been seen and heard by people all over the world, not because he had fought that monster, but because he had managed to remain standing.
As the crowd of people watched the man get into a car and drive away, they soon felt safe to surround Kazuma, but when a reporter was about to ask him a question, Kazumas escape skill activated and he teleported into the sweet shop where Aqua was hiding in.
The moment Kazuma set foot inside of the shop, he found himself being thrown to the floor by Aqua, who had sensed him entering the house and immediately leaped towards him.
"It's okay he's gone," Kazuma said to Aqua who was crying again.
Kazuma noticed the owners of the shop looking at both him and Aqua yet when he looked into their eyes he could see something that wasn't there before.
He soon recognized the look that the pair had in their eyes, but it was only when their daughter handed him a cup of hot chocolate did the pair moved closer t him.
"Sorry," said the man before grabbing Kazuma by the arm and helping him to his feet.
"It's just that whenever that man fights anyone, they usually aren't good people," he said to Kazuma.
"Aqua, I know that you're happy that Kazuma is okay, but you have to stop crying, can't you see that he's had a rough day," the man's wife said to Aqua as she handed Aqua a napkin so that she could dry her eyes.
As the owners of the store led them to the living room so that they could relax Kazuma couldn't help but smile when he turned and noticed that Aqua was walking right beside him.
The sweet shop was two blocks away from their house, so it was obvious that the shop owner- his wife and their daughter would eventually become friends with Aqua because of how often she visited the store.
That was one of the things that Aqua could do that he couldn't, just like when they were in the other world become being sent to this one, somehow Aqua could always find a way of becoming friends with the people around her.
Kazuma on the other hand, couldn't do such a thing.
No for whatever reason he couldn't just become friends with people instead it took time for him to become friends with anyone.
Even when he was in Erise's world, Kazuma could count the number of people that he considered close friends with his bare hands.
It was only after the pair of husband and wife were sure that both Aqua and Kazuma had calmed down enough that they allowed the pair to go home.
As Kazuma and Aqua walked home they realized that the people around them were looking at them differently, it wasn't fear but it was something close to it.
Still, the two of them were more than happy to be inside of their house and away from both the people and that monster.
The world that the gods had transported them to, was a world where magic existed, but it was dying, meaning that in this world things like computers, radios and television exist.
Yet at the same time, some people could use magic, and mystical creatures existed, they either lived amongst the humans or lived somewhere far away from any form of civilization.
As Kazuma turned on the television and began to change the channel looking for something to watch, he wished that the internet wasn't in its infancy.
While there were computers in this world, they were more like televisions that connected to the internet and couldn't play anything in high definition.
The city they were in was relatively new, one that had both foreigners and natives living in it, meaning that if a person looked around they would see all sorts of hair stiles on people's heads.
So no one is surprised to see a school girl walking around with a mini skirt, next to another girl that was wearing a long skirt.
While most people would say that this comparison didn't make much sense, that would only be because they hadn't seen how some of the people in the city dressed.
In this part of the world, no perhaps if the stories that the older generations from Kazumas old world were true, then perhaps the entire world was changing right now and s different people from all over the world were meeting each other.
Kazuma was more than once tempted to say that the world was trying to figure out what the next couple of years of its life would be like.
The news station he briefly stopped at, showed the American Military mobilizing for another one of its wars, while on another channel it showed some guy using something that looked like Hadouken from Street Fighter.
After a few minutes, Kazuma decided that there was nothing that interested him, so he turned off the television and decided to sit next to Aqua and just enjoy the cool wind as it blew on their backyard.
Unlike the last time, when the two of them had no choice but to start from scratch, on this occasion the gods had somehow made it so that they had a house filled with everything they could need to live.
Unfortunately due to the rules of the country or the state Kazuma couldn't remember which and honestly he didn't care to remember to wh ht law belonged to, but both he and Aqua had to attend school no matter what.
They could still get part-time jobs to help pay for things like electricity- water- groceries- clothes and school supplies, but they would still end up struggling because the jobs that they did dint pay much.
As Kazuma sat down next to Aqua he couldn't help but smirk, he already knew what companies had made names for themselves in the future, so he used whatever money he could spare and invested in them.
In a couple of years, he would be rich again, but for now, he has no choice but to work his way up the corporate ladder just like everyone else.
Kazuma felt Aqua lay her head on his shoulder, it was as if the events that had happened earlier never happened, if they ignored the sounds of cars passing by then the world would seem so quiet and peaceful.
Thankfully today was Sunday, so they would forget about the whole thing tomorrow.
