Days later.

Alec and Magnus had a routine, meal time being Alec's favorite. Magnus conjured most of their meals but it turned out the warlock could cook.

They talked a lot and Alec read the book Ragnor brought over to the loft. Magnus educating him on all of the changes in the world. The old dragon was good but cut off from anything modern in his teachings, Alec learned more from the warlocks and he was grateful.

The magic lessons was amazing to the dragon, Magnus was not only gorgeous but so talented. He would woo him, he knew it. He had learned of his sexuality and since he had a preference, that would work out.

"I'll need a large space." Alec stated around his bowl of lontong kupang being more of a carnivore and Magnus desire to treat him to food from all over the world, the clam soup with rice cakes was perfect for the dragon. Alec moved to the kitchen table for meals with Magnus. The warlock chose pecel lele, the catfish and rice was perfect. While the warlock was certain Alec would eat catfish, he wanted to ply him with soup.

The warlock believed in the healing power of soup and Alec was still adjusting and getting ready to change. It wasn't always soup, he mixed it up for the little dragon but he still worked it into the diet for the time being. Magnus imagined once Alec was in his true forms, he would do more of a mix in diet for him. Ragnor convinced him that his diet would be important.

"I have a warehouse we can use, that is not far from here." Magnus assured Alec. "No one will bother you and I'll glamour it to look empty while you perform transformations." Alec nodded in agreement, he trusted the warlock. He wasn't sure why but he did and it was good enough for him.

Alec spent time practice flying and using his magic, he was napping less and expanding his world. Magnus helped him with his magic, the dragon read the books from the warlock's apothecary. While the old dragon taught him a great many things. The warlocks were helpful in many ways. The trio were opening his eyes to more than dragon magic. Catarina's healing, Ragnor's spells and Magnus' general knowledge was valuable to Alec. Magnus taught him what to avoid in his work room as well.

Alec's mother visited a few times and while their relationship was improving, she took the time to explain everything to him and give him the space when she knew he needed it. While he didn't like all the things she told him and his resolve to kill his father lingered. Alec would shake those thoughts away and tried to get to know his mother who did save him even if he was stuck for a long time. Her heart was in the right place.

Alec was achy, he wasn't sleeping well at all. He flew around the loft and would stare at Magnus in his room. Magnus allowed him to sleep next to him and it was comforting but some times he didn't feel well enough. At those times he wanted the warming bed. This night it wasn't helping at all. Alec wasn't sure what to do, he felt like crying but he's a dragon and that is not acceptable for him. The pain was annoying and that was when he realized he had to let his magic loose.

"Magnus!" He was distraught, someone help him. His mother didn't tell him it would hurt so much, he was so sure he could handle his change easily and with no problem that he deluded himself. The old dragon made the 'change' sound like it was nothing. That damn dragon was wrong. And what Alec thought would be a breeze would be more difficult than leaving that stupid egg.

Magnus ran into the loft living room area watching Alec flying furiously around, his movements erratic. He noticed the distress and his magic and Alec's were almost at war with each other trying to ease as best it could. The warlock made his magic as subtle as possible to sooth. As soon as he could get Alec in his arms, he'd take him to the warehouse. He quickly fire-messaged Catarina and Ragnor. While he felt he could handle the situation, back up wasn't a bad idea.

"Alexander," the warlock made a motion with his arms for the dragon to come to him and let him hold him. Alec did as Magnus wanted, once the warlock had Alec in his arms he knew what was happening. Alec needed to transform and do it now. "Sshh, it will be alright." Magnus cooed at the dragon. "I'm going to use my magic for several things right now." Alec merely looked at him in hope of help and trying to keep himself together emotionally knowing physically was a lost cause but still contained.

Magnus' fire message instructed Cat and Ragnor to meet him at the warehouse. Then portal-ed Alec and himself to the warehouse he had set up for the dragon to transform in. As soon as arriving, Magnus made a pentagram to hold Alec in place until they were all ready. He made sure it would feel soothing for the dragon, very similar to the warming bed.

Cat's babysitter was already at her home, they worked out a schedule for school and hospital reasons. It worked well for both of them. She portal-ed and it wasn't a few seconds later when Ragnor appeared. "Couldn't he have waited til morning?" was Ragnor's tired reply. He wondered to himself why everything would take place in the middle of the night.

"He had no control over it." Magnus reminded his friend.

"Okay, we know what to do and how to help him." Cat said in her no-nonsense nurse mode. "Let's prepare the warehouse and let him do his thing." It wasn't the most elegant thing to say but she didn't know what to call this phase for Alec.

"Wait, should we call his Mother?" Magnus thought maybe a dragon would be able to help a dragon.

"No, he has to do this on his own. Neither his Mother or Father could help him with this, its a right of passage and it is up to him." Ragnor was annoyed, didn't his friends read anything he gave them. He loved them but he suspected he was too much of a bookworm for them.

"I read it!" Argued Magnus, "I thought this would be different, because of time and his own magic." He glared at Ragnor. Cat ignored both men and watched over Alec.

"Don't do anything yet." Ragnor had worked on his dragon research. "I've got the spells we need to help him transition less painfully, he'll have to do most of the work but … we can make it easier for him." Ragnor shared the spells needed and the three warlocks chanted.

Alec felt pain and exhaustion, 'why' was his only thought. Was he dying, he didn't think so but it felt like it and a warm mix of green and blue surrounded him. The blue was two different shades which perplexed him but he used his claws to swipe at the billowing wisps and then he felt better.

Alec held his head back looking toward the ceiling and his body shifted, his magic coursed through him. He wasn't in as much pain but his body was growing and shifting and he thought he would pass out but didn't. Once he was in his normal dragon form; which almost didn't fit inside the warehouse, he was amazed at how small things looked to him.

The warlocks were so tiny, he leaned his head down to sniff them. Yes, they were the beings he was used to spending time with but clearly he was different. Old dragon knowledge flooding him and he realized he was in his true form. He snorted a little at the warlocks but tried not to scare them. He did a quick look around and noticed the pentagram that was meant to hold and help him. He demolished it with his own magic.

His magic felt great, it flowed so freely. It healed, nourished and empowered him. It was a heady feeling. Alec wasn't ready for his humanoid form, so he used his magic to make his dragon form smaller.

The warlocks watched Alec. He transformed from a dragon the size of a building to that of a house cat. Alec stretched his wings and flew around the warehouse. It felt better than when he was a hatch-ling. He was stronger and he knew it. Once he had his fun flying he landed in-front of Magnus, Cat and Ragnor. They were in awe of him. He was magnificent, black scales with some hazel coloring and all of his assets on display. Horns, claws and a spiked tail. Alec switched back to his true size, he needed it.

"Alexander." Magnus looked at the big dragon and marveled at the magical being. His magic was singing along with Alec's, it had been a long time since his magic was so connected to another being. The seer maybe incredibly right, they were fated.

Alec smirked, "I'm here," he gestured with a claw to all of the warlocks. "And thank you for your help."

Ragnor snorted but it was because he felt he was right all along with his research, but still smiled at the dragon. Cat merely shook her head in understanding. She used her magic lightly and the dragon seemed to be in good health. Magnus was mesmerized.

After a few moments of awkwardness, Ragnor couldn't take it, "c'mon now. Let's see your humanoid form."

Alec huffed, pushy warlock. "I'm not ready yet." Ragnor gave a droll look at the dragon.

The dragon stretched and flapped his wings, it caused a strong breeze in the building but nothing that would take down the glamour or hurt the warlocks. Alec swung his head from side to side, it was to concentrate on what he wanted to do. Moments later he was in human form.

"Okay, meeting him naked. Not ideal." Ragnor snapped his fingers and clothing covered Alec.

Magnus whispered, "speak for yourself. I liked what I saw." Cat pinched him. It was clear that there was an attraction. She sighed, it was probably the seer's visions coming true. Magnus and Alec had a connection and it was more than magic.

Alec looked at the tank top and sweat pants covering him. It wasn't uncomfortable but he knew he would have to learn how to do that, clearly being naked all the time wasn't a good idea.
