A small X-01 chronicle
A very prosperous and expansive world existed. Lush greenery, a plethora of beautiful species and humongous amounts of natural fuel, had blessed this world. The sentient beings that occupied this world reached a turning point. With excitement shaking through their knees, and intellectual bells striking their mind, through the insights and blood of many, this particular society had now reached the complete mass production of Artificial Intelligence and Automatons.
All manual labor, necessary tasks and jobs were now fully automated. With this ,the residents turned their minds towards the arts and various sciences. A spike in technological advances, and an overabundance of artistic media , followed with each of their tiny steps.
X-01 was born as a rare orphan in such a time. Even among the five great empires,he could not recall his place nor the ones who brought him to existence.
This deprived individual was instead taken in by a scientifically driven ,united government association. Four other orphans were also snatched away. Even though a common ground between them was noticed by X-01, he was and has remained unsure whether a bond was made between.
The government nurtured their growth according to its own ideals. Their natural emotions were carefully peeled away, and instead, rules, order and knowledge took its place. After being raised for a suitable time period, an experiment would take place. One that would change the course of society for eternity. Simply put, what they served on a platter was perfected immortality.
With the success of the experiment, five beings who vehemently denied death were now kindled.
Given the title of Overseers and with a shackle of rules around their neck, the five were split among the five countries. The rules were very simple. The first inhibited any and all interference from them in modern society. Their ability to aid or destroy others was restricted under any circumstance. And the second commanded them to store, record and memorize every single event that has occurred and would occur from hereupon. With their personal authenticity taken away from them, the five just simply obeyed.
Their essence had overtaken their existence , and so the Overseers became the perfect sentient mechanisms. To gaze at the world in all its beauty was their purpose, but the poor souls never grasped the essence of beauty.
And so the curtain was lifted. And an era of immortality followed.
The immortality experiment was quickly mass produced as a commodity and society was divided into those who would go on to partake in it and those who would not. With their frail mortality now defeated, their actions stopped appearing so meaningless as before. Now every discovery and memory they would make would be filled with cosmological importance. There was no need to leave behind a legacy or to hope for an afterlife. No need to fear death and decay. The concept of eternity that they had envied in obsessive degrees, was now theirs.
And so with complete joy in their hearts, they set out to further prolong the lifespan of the world around them with any means necessary. By pushing the boundaries of reality, they continued to prolong the inevitable collapse of their world. For eons, they continued to live and prosper. By this time, the population had transitioned into a single never changing line. Maybe it was brought upon by a lack of interest or reason to further increase their generation. And along with this followed the desentization of emotions and a lack of empathy.
The romantic fantasy of an eternal love between partners was shattered and replaced by a mass family separation across the world. Maybe it was the inevitable death of the people closest to one that allowed for tolerance and revealed the meaning of everyday interactions. With a sense of urgency gone, menial tasks now appeared meaningless as did their ambition and death that was now not present, had left behind an excruciating emptiness.
With this in their heart, society turned itself towards the stars. Utilizing everything at their disposal, they searched and searched. They desperately and pathetically searched for anything and anyone that could light the darkness at their heart.
But alas, all they were presented with was a cold, desolate and uncaring cosmos.
And the eventual collapse of this world followed. Like a spreading crack, everything this world nurtured was destroyed. The reason was the residents themselves. Without any care or reason, they simply discarded all. Society and its government fell away. And instead of prolonging the end of the world, they actively set it off instead.
The last remaining overseer, X-01 was now purposeless. Even during the end, he did not interfere and instead continued to foolishly act like a tool.
The only real event he recalls after all of this, was the sensation of endlessly floating away in a deep, dark and lonely void. While drifting like a broken doll, X-01 couldn't help but recall something that bothered him quite a bit. The problematic issue he recalled was the fact that his world was never given an actual name. All the scholars from around the world had done nothing but argue among themselves. Because of this, the five countries usually called it with their own distinctions.
Maybe, in order to deliver his first individual action, X-01 muttered the name that he felt suited such a world. And as he fell, he was met with a warm and comfortable embrace.
.
.
It had been quite a long time ever since X-01 had fallen into that embrace. During which, he had figured out that the embrace was actually the core mechanism of another world, which he had been unintentionally dragged to. In fact the residents of this magical world had started calling the mechanism as Od Laguna.
X-01 continued to stay there and watch the world like he always has. Even when the great calamity occurred, he only did what he was used to doing. And after 400 years, a particular world-changing anomaly had occurred. The arrival of Natsuki Subaru.
Even after observing his deaths and suffering, X-01 was still unable to feel any emotions towards it. Even with the probability of the tragic end the boy could face at the closing of this story, X-01 didn't find any reasons to intervene.
And so without any reasons or emotions,in a hypocritical and contradictory action, X-01 reached out his hand.
His second, personally driven action had now started inside a theater
