It's Spring Break, Charlie Brown!
A PEANUTS: The Next Chapter Special
CHAPTER 1: THE SUNSHINE STATE
The Brown family were on their way to Florida. The kids were on Spring Break, and they decided that a trip to the Sunshine State for the week would be a nice change of pace. Silas had rented an RV for the trip due to who was with them. In addition to the Brown family, Silas, Maureen, Charlie Brown, Sally, and Wyatt, as well as Snoopy and Woodstock, there was Frieda, Michael, and Charlie Brown, Sally, and Wyatt's cousin Heidi. Frieda and Michael were invited to come, and Heidi asked if she could come as her father Reed was going on long delivery trips and would be busy all that week to do anything with her. Silas and Maureen allowed their niece to come along, as she and Charlie Brown were always close growing up.
After a while they had made it into Florida, and set up camp close to the beach, where there was an RV campsite. After hooking up the needed electricity, water, and sewage, they all went to look at the Atlantic Ocean. While it wasn't the first time any of them had seen an ocean (Charlie Brown and Frieda has seen the Pacific Ocean twice, once in Hawaii and the other in Australia), they were still amazed by the crashing waves and tranquility of it all.
"You picked a perfect spot, dear," Maureen said to her husband.
"Mom's right, dad," agreed Charlie Brown. "This is a great place to be at for Spring Break. What do you think, Frieda?"
"I agree, hun," said Frieda. "Breath taking!"
"Man, Charlie, Florida has always been one of my favorite states to visit!" said a happy Heidi. "Whenever dad drove his rig down here when he had a delivery and I was with him, he always made it a point to take me to Disney World, no matter what!"
"Your father's a great man, Heidi," said Frieda.
"Thanks, Frieda," said Heidi, smiling.
"So, what would you want to do first, Michael?" asked Sally to her boyfriend.
"I dunno," said Michael. "I know I want to hit the beach, but that goes without saying. We could check out some souvenir shops, as well."
"Ooh!" cooed Sally. "Is my Sweet Babboo going to buy his Sally a gift while here?"
"He very well could, Sweet Babbooette!" Michael cooed back.
"Okay, I know that's a family saying," said Heidi, "but can we cool it with the 'Sweet Babboo' talk for a bit?"
"You sound like my best friend Linus, Heidi," laughed Charlie Brown. "You remember how much of a crush she had on him before she met Michael. Linus used to scream at the top of his lungs how he wasn't her Sweet Ba.." Heidi raised an eyebrow at her cousin. Charlie Brown noticed and continued, "…well, you know. But he couldn't stand it either."
"I just never got that name," Heidi conceded.
"I guess grandma called grandpa that for years," said Sally, "and mom calls daddy that every day. So, I kind of adopted it. First with Linus, and now with Michael."
"But, unlike Linus, I don't mind being called 'Sweet Babboo' at all," added Michael.
"Good grief!" groaned Heidi.
"If it's any consolation, Heidi, I don't call Charlie Brown that," said Frieda, "but only if he wanted me to."
"I'm good, either way," said Charlie Brown. Frieda kissed him on the cheek, and everyone got ready to go to a restaurant to eat before turning in. The next day would be the first of the vacation.
