Damn it...
Goren was not happy...
But not at all.
He could no longer go to Eames while Lee Lance stayed in New York.
And so...
He couldn't even...
Captain Lipschitz had calculated his move very well.
He had asked Eames, while Lee Lance was in New York with his son...
If she would take him in.
And Eames...
Always the heart on the hand...
Ready to help...
She had agreed.
And so...
Goren had to go back home.
But his home...
It was empty and cold.
And above all...
Eames was not there.
For once...
Couldn't she have refused...
And found an excuse.
Eames could have left the keys to his apartment with Lee Lance...
And come to his place in the evening.
But Eames had told her that she would find a way for them to have some time together.
But nothing.
There was always something.
You'd think Lee Lance would suspect something...
And this idea of the captain...
It sounded suspicious.
He would put his hand on it.
It seemed that he had planned everything so that he and Eames ...
Wouldn't be able to be alone.
Damn it...
He wanted Eames.
To have her against him...
To hold her in his arms.
He needed to feel her thrill...
That she reacts to his kisses...
And his caresses.
And if it continued like this...
He was going to go completely crazy.
He couldn't stand it anymore...
He got up from the couch, put his cell phone in his pocket, and headed for the front door of his apartment.
This had gone on too long.
He wanted to see her...
And he would see her.
Even if it was in the middle of the night.
Rita took one last look at her sleeping son, and headed into the living room to join Eames.
How could she thank her for her hospitality.
She knew very well why Harry had asked Eames for such a favor.
Just to make sure that Eames and Goren couldn't see each other outside of work.
And he had succeeded.
Not once...
had Goren come to see Eames.
And besides...
It was not complicated to know that Goren was sleeping at Eames.
In the bedroom of Eames, which she had graciously lent him the time to host him, was placed on the back of a chair, a man's shirt of a large size.
And Rita knew exactly to whom it could belong.
She had never seen anyone as tall as Goren...
And yet Chris was a man of great size.
But Rita had preferred not to ask Eames about this shirt.
But maybe it was time to have a little chat about them.
- I can not thank you enough for hosting us ...
Eames put a big smile on his lips.
Rita did not have to thank her.
She really liked this little brown woman...
And her little boy.
Having them with her was a real pleasure.
But she darkened.
Even though she saw Goren every day at work...
It wasn't the same...
Than when he spent the nights at her house.
And she missed him terribly.
She needed him...
Of his presence...
Of his touch.
Never Eames would have believed herself able to love so strong somebody else than Joe one day.
She would have wanted so much to be in his arms at night.
She felt so safe there.
And she forgot about everything else in the world...
All that surrounded them...
Except for the two of them...
And the feeling of their two bodies.
Eames always wondered...
How two bodies of such opposite size...
Could fit together so perfectly.
It was indeed a mystery of life.
A mystery that she knew very well...
That Goren would be happy to explain to her.
Eames put a small smile on his lips.
This gentleman I know everything...
But she darkened again, frowned.
Eames wished he could find a way to see Goren...
But it was impossible.
Rita would ask herself if she went out at night.
And she didn't feel brave enough to lie to him...
And to make excuses.
Besides...
She wasn't good at it.
Eames let out a small sigh of frustration from her lips, which did not go unnoticed by Rita.
- You miss Goren...
At her words, Eames blushed violently.
Damn it...
How did Rita know...
Was she so expressive when she was with Goren.
Did she read everything she felt on her face.
And most importantly...
Did anyone else know...
At the worried look on Eames' face, Rita came to sit beside her on the couch, and took her hands in his, squeezing them gently, showing her support.
If only Eames knew about her past.
She would understand that Rita could not judge her.
But she couldn't forget the pain of the loss of Chris.
Lipschitz had told her he didn't want anything like that to happen again.
But Rita knew very well...
That nothing could be done about the true feelings of the heart.
Chris and she had proven that.
- I know exactly how you feel...
At Rita's words, Eames looked at Rita, looked at her as if she were forbidden.
Rita knew how she felt...
How could this be possible.
- Chris Junior's father... Rita took a deep breath, trying to hold back her emotions that could surface at any moment. Was my partner... Eames opened her big hazel eyes, surprised by this discovery. And late husband.
At his words, Eames' heart tightened.
So Rita had too lost her late husband.
But it was different for Goren and her.
Goren was not her husband.
And she doubted that he was ever going to marry her.
And Eames had to admit...
That being with Goren was enough for her.
And that it didn't matter to her if he asked her to marry him.
As long as she was with him.
But why was she telling him all these things...
Her allusion of what she knew about how she felt...
A flash of insight struck Eames' mind.
So that was it...
Rita had figured out everything between Goren and her.
It couldn't have been clearer.
But how...
They had been so careful.
- I wanted to tell you... Rita reached for one of Eames' rebellious golden locks, and tucked it behind her ear. Because I don't know if you're weighing the risks of this situation.
The risks...
Eames knew very well what the risks were of falling in love with his partner.
Not only they could be separated...
Or transferred...
Or worse...
Lose their respective jobs.
But there was also the risk of losing him in service.
Eames had lost Joe.
And so...
She had wanted to be careful with her heart.
But nothing had helped.
She had fallen madly in love with Goren.
And the idea of not being with him...
Him was insurmountable.
She needed him.
Eames felt her cell phone vibrate.
She took it up and looked at it.
It was a message.
And when she saw the recipient's name, her heart raced.
It was Goren.
She glanced at Rita, who looked at her without saying anything.
Had she understood who was the recipient.
If so...
She did not let anything appear.
Eames returned her attention to the message.
She opened it, and read it.
"I can't hold on any longer.
And I have to see you.
I'll be right there.
Bobby."
At this message, Eames' heart beat violently in her chest, ready to explode.
Goren was coming.
He wasn't serious.
Or at least...
He wouldn't risk coming.
If Rita found out...
But Eames knew that even if he didn't come...
Rita had already figured out everything that was going on between them.
So why hide from it.
- I'm going to bed... Eames looked at Rita who was getting up from the sofa. As you know, Chris Junior still doesn't sleep through the night...
Eames nodded, watching as Rita made her way to the bedroom.
Was this really why Rita had gone to bed...
It was true that the baby doesn't really sleep through the night, and that he woke up two or three times.
But was it really the only reason.
Eames doubted it.
