It was a Saturday morning in the Sheffield residence as everyone was enjoying breakfast. All except Gracie that is.

"What's the matter sweetie? The food's not agreeing with you?" Fran worried.

"It's not that." Gracie replied while poking her waffle.

"Well what is it then?" Fran questioned.

"Gracie has an appointment at the doctor's scheduled for 11 this morning." Mr. Sheffield explained.

"I'm sure you'll be fine sweetie." Fran assured.

"Can you come with me Fran?" Gracie begged.

"Oh alright, I'll just have to cancel my shopping date with Ma." Fran agreed.

"Thank you Fran you're the greatest!" Gracie smiled before pushing her seat back to the table and skipping upstairs.

"Just cause I said I'd cancel my shopping time with Ma doesn't mean I'll actually do it." Fran muttered.

"Oh come on Ms. Fine, your mother won't be mad at you will she?" Mr. Sheffield queried.

"She won't but when she calls Yetta she sure will. Every time your name comes up she calls you my husband and Ma has to remind her I'm just the nanny." Fran answered before getting up, pushing her chair in and going to the phone to call her mom.

"Hey Ma, I don't think I can make it today, I have to take Gracie to the doctor." Fran notified.

"Did you find a nice doctor?" Sylvia questioned.

"Not yet Ma, but you just gave me a great idea. How does this sound? You come with me to the doctor's and we'll see what we can find?" Fran answered.

"Sounds great Franny, what time is the appointment?" Sylvia replied.

"It's at 11 Ma and don't be late, by now." Fran finished before hanging up the phone.

"Your mother's going with you?" Mr. Sheffield asked.

"She sure is, I would feel so guilty if I didn't see her today. She can pull a mean guilt trip." Fran commented.

"Good morning everybody!" C.C. greeted.

"Would you place the leftovers in the trash?" Mr. Sheffield queried.

"Of course sir." Niles responded before handing C.C. a plate of bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes.

"I just heard the greatest news!" C.C. beamed.

"Did the garbage disposal company give you a raise?" Niles remarked.

C.C. glared daggers at Niles before turning her attention back to the conversation.

"The Gerswhin Theatre wants to show your new musical! Apparently Andrew caught a cold and they thought you could fill their eight to nine o'clock slot!" C.C informed.

"By jove that's the best news I've heard in ages! This will definitely be great for business!" Mr. Sheffield smiled.

"Well would you look at the time? Time to go to your doctor's appointment Gracie!" Fran hollered.

"Coming!" Gracie replied before walking downstairs.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the front door.

"I'll get it." Niles replied before going to the front door.

Sylvia appeared wearing a red sweater, a red pencil skirt and black ruby slipper heels.

"C'mon Franny we're going to be late! Your future prince charming might've left already!" Sylvia spoke.

"I'm coming Ma." Fran replied.

At the doctor's office, Sylvia jabbed Fran's right shoulder with her left elbow.

"What about that one?" Sylvia wondered.

The man looked to be in his early 20's with brown hair, light tan skin and green eyes.

"I don't think so Ma. I like my guys with a little spunk." Fran commented before shaking her right hand left and right horizontally.

"Gracie Sheffield." the doctor called.

"Oh no I don't want to go." Gracie stuttered before rushing to the front door of the office.

Fran grabbed Gracie by her waist before grabbing her hand and directing Gracie to the office enterance door.

"You'll be fine sweetie I promise. If it'll make you feel any better, we'll get some ice cream afterwards." Fran assured.

"Okay." Gracie sniffled.

"Hello Gracie, I'm Dr. Michael Davis. Can you stick out your tongue for me?" Dr. Davis greeted.

Gracie opened her mouth as Dr. Davis grabbed a tongue depressor before sitting down and inspecting Gracie's mouth.

"Your mouth looks fine, now let's check that heartbeat." Dr. Davis commented before getting his stethoscope.

"So, Dr. Davis, where do you live?" Fran asked.

"I live in an apartment not too far from here." Dr. Davis responded as he put down his stethoscope and grabbed his otoscope.

"Do you have any hobbies?" Fran questioned.

"I enjoy a round of golf on occasion." Dr. Davis answered.

"Are you Jewish?" Sylvia queried.

"Ma!" Fran whined while staring angrily at her mother.

"I am." Dr. Davis confirmed.

"What?!" Fran and Sylvia gawked in unison.

"Alright Gracie, you're perfectly healthy and good to go." Dr. Davis notified.

"All of a sudden I'm not feeling too well." Fran muttered before passing out.

(Or at least that's what she wanted Dr. Davis to think.)

"I'll notify the secretary to call the hospital." Dr. Davis informed before going to tell the secretary to get an ambulance to the office.

"Did he fall for it?" Fran queried.

"Sh! He's coming back!" Sylvia whispered as Fran shut her eyes.

"She's in here." Dr. Davis spoke as the two medics lifted Fran onto the gurney.

"Come on sweetie, we'd better follow them." Sylvia supposed before grabbing Gracie's hand to lead her out of the office and to her car.

At the hospital, Fran just woke up.

"Huh? Where am I? This isn't the clinic." Fran mumbled.

"Are you alright Ms. Fine? You passed out earlier." Dr. Davis worried.

"I'm better now that you're here." Fran giggled.

"That's a relief, well I have to go back to the clinic now. I hope you have a good day." Dr. Davis commented before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.

Just then, Sylvia and Gracie entered the room.

"So, how'd it go?" Sylvia asked.

"Nowhere." Fran sighed.

"Oh well, there's always next time." Sylvia commented before leaving the room.

"Why did your mom say that Fran?" Gracie wondered.

"Let's just say Ma's obsessed with finding me someone to get hitched with." Fran replied.

Sylvia then opened the door.

"You can leave now if you want Franny." Sylvia informed.

"I'm coming Ma." Fran notified.

So, Sylvia dropped Fran and Gracie off at the mansion. Mr. Sheffield noticed Gracie and Fran had returned so he sat on the sofa in the living room to talk with them.

"So, how was the appointment?" Mr. Sheffield asked.

"I'm perfectly healthy and Fran-" however Fran cut Gracie off before she could finish her sentence.

"I forgot to take you out for ice cream! I'm so sorry! I'll take you tomorrow." Fran apologized.

"What were you trying to say sweetheart?" Mr. Sheffield questioned.

"Fran's mom was trying to get the doctor to marry her." Maggie answered.

"It seems as if your mother won't rest until you're married." Mr. Sheffield laughed.

"Mr. Sheffield?" Fran spoke.

"Yes?" Mr. Sheffield replied.

"If you see two medical bills, the second one was not my fault." Fran replied.

"Why on Earth would there be a second bill Ms. Fine? Gracie said she's perfectly healthy." Mr. Sheffield commented.

"That's what I wanted to say. Fran fake fainted to see if the doctor liked her." Gracie explained.

"Ms. Fine!" Mr. Sheffield yelled as he chased Fran upstairs.
