It was the next day that T'nela swept through the ship by her brother's side, deep in discussion about something only they could understand that Nurse Chappel met her in the Sick Bay. Intrigued by the young Vulcan she stepped forward, only to hear Spock referring to her, "Nurse Chapel was a larger part of than incident than I was."
As the Vulcans sat down on beds across from each other the sister turned to Christine, "My brother was telling me about the fascinating incent with robots that your former Fiance introduced us to." Chappel couldn't help but think there was something innocent about the question, "Have you found anything more about the science behind his discovery?"
Swallowing hard at the reminder of Rodger, "No I haven't."
Having only closed her eyes for a moment Christine was startled to find the young woman less than a foot from her and offering a clean cloth. Bowing her head slightly, "Forgive me." Seeing the slight confusion in the nurse's eyes, "Too often I overlook the human element in these discoveries."
It was not hard to smile at the Vulcan style of shyness, "It's alright." Lowering her voice despite the fact that Vulcan hearing would still make what she said perfectly understandable, "I have had enough interactions with your brother to know you didn't mean any injury."
There was a flicker of something in the younger woman's eyes before she continued, "I am also interested in Kahn."
McCoy came back in time to hear that, "Why would you want to know about him?"
Raising an eyebrow, "Because Doctor, I was also an experiment." Speaking into the silence with that Vulcan calm, "Ambassador Sareks DNA was stolen on one of his missions by a people who thought the Vulcnas were like their deity." Looking straight at the Doctor, "I am the result of their attempts to add a bit of their own DNA to my Fathers in the belief they could become more like that dety."
"It was an illogical wish," Spock stated from where he had been sitting. The two humans turned to see he had risen to his feet, "The experiments sparked a war that destroyed their planet and drove their race to the edge of extinction." Standing next to his sister, "The ships that went to aid them found T'nela in the rubble." Looking at the two humans, "As she was still a young child they did a DNA test to see if they could find any family," his gaze would have been daring them to say anything if he wasn't a Vulcan, "which was how she was returned home."
There was an unspoken signal between the two and they left the sickbay, Doctor McCoy and Nurse Chappel standing stunned in their wake. McCoy reached over and activated the comm calling the Captain down for a conversation. Jim Kirk would want to know what he had just been told.
