T'nela was just leaving the assigned lab after working for sixteen hours straight when Checkov nearly walked into her. He gave a Russian exclamation as she raised an eyebrow, "Is it customary for you to rush around the corridors without looking?"
The human was shorter than her and Vulcan dignity could be imposing even without that. However when he stuttered, "I'm w-werry sorry m-miss…"
Bowing her head, "Dr. T'nela." Looking directly at him, "And you are?"
Straightening, "Ensign Checkov, Pavel Andreievich."
"Indeed. You are the navigator," seeing him startle. Raising her eyebrows, "Did you believe my brother would tell me nothing of the ships he serves on?" Before he could find an answer, "Why were you dashing about in such a hurry Mr. Checkov?"
She had started off in the direction he had been rushing and he quickly stepped up beside her, "The Keptin vants all of the bridge crew in a meeting and I'll be wery late."
"Indeed but you will not be blamed," she answered in her calm voice. Looking at her quickly he couldn't find anything in her profile, "I also need to attend the meeting and it is only logical that you guide me there." Still maintaining a dignified glide typical of Vulcans, "However it is illogical to dash, therefore any tardiness will be acceptable."
Motioning open the turbolift and taking hold of the handle he stated the deck and then spoke to her, "I have never known a Wulcan to be late."
Bowing her head slightly, "I was tasked to ascertain several things for the meeting." Stepping out of the Turbolift, "The search took longer than anticipated."
Her tone reminded Checkov of Mr. Spock's whenever someone tried to make a joke that was scientifically impossible. Instead of fear or annoyance he found himself smiling at her, "It must have been wery interesting."
Bowing her head slightly, "It was." Stopping in the middle of the corridor, "According to my brothers instructions the meeting room should be nearby."
Chekov had forgotten they were heading to a meeting and this made him blink before stepping forward, "Just down here." She followed him three doors down and into the meeting. As proper for a Vulcan T'nela took in every word and could repeat it perfectly. However Chekov was distracted by the first officers beautiful sister, which Sulu teased him about afterwards.
