Chapter One

It was a hard hit. He hadn't seen it coming and he hadn't even known that there was another guy inside. It hadn't hurt, he was just knocked sideways and went down. But he knew he would be screwed lying on the floor and although totally dazed, just on instinct, he tried to get up again to fight whoever just tried to kill him.
It was a bad idea, because the pain was there now, shot through his whole skull, made his brain stop working for a moment. His world spun, his legs didn't support him and he fell back down. Thankfully, his upper body landed on the guy he had taken out just before he got attacked himself.
He was still – or was it only? – half conscious but his instincts were working. Somehow, he knew he wouldn't be able to get up again, but he wanted to at least see who his enemy was. He opened his eyes which had closed on their own when the pain had hit but he had double vision and it was blurry on top. He could only see shades, but that was enough to tell him that someone was standing over him, pointing something at him.
Then a gunshot rang out which sent another spike of pain though his skull and made him squeeze his eyes shut.
He couldn't feel another source of pain but on the other hand the pain in his head overruled every other sensation he might feel at the moment, so it still could be that he had been shot.
When something heavy landed beside him on the floor he hoped one of his team members had fired the shot though to save him.
"Hey, buddy. You with me?" he heard his partner asking or at least he thought that it was him.
He wanted to answer, to open his eyes but both actions cost him too much effort, caused too much pain and he passed out.

Just tell me what you think. I will try to update once a week.
