Ahem. Ok, I'm getting used to this. What is up y'all, I am back with a new fanfic, it has been such a long time I had to take a break. Had to get a lot of crap done. But, here we are. Now, in my last fanfic, "Brian's New Home", I received a guest review, asking if I was serious about the Smurfs ending. The short answer is yes. I am as serious as a heart attack. The long answer is I will admit, on paper I guess it is a little odd, smurfs of all things. But quite frankly, if it was a smurfs fanfic and the miraculous came in randomly at the end, my guess would be it would be close to the same reaction. They are both for kids, and they are both slightly dumb, when you think about it. Besides, for one, you can do a lot with both of these, with your imagination. Besides, if you haven't read my profile description, I don't care what people think. If they like what I'd do, great! I am truly glad! But if you don't, that's ok too! I'm doing this for me. Now, with that aside, let's see what we got!
Vexy opened her eyes one morning. She was in her mushroom home, just like everyday.
She sat up and yawned. She enjoyed the mornings. She was definitely a morning Smurf.
Every Smurf here was so nice, and it was only a year since she first arrived. In fact, as soon as she came, you would have thought she lived there her whole life. And Hackus- oh man Hackus!- they just loved him, the way he punted Brainy clear out of the park! She almost felt bad for him.
Until she realized how annoying he could be. But he was a good smurf at heart, and when he lectured, he meant well. He was just so... Full of himself sometimes, that's all.
She got up and looked out the window. The view of the village rarely changed, but it didn't matter to her. It was beautiful just the way it was. And whenever something did change, it was always a good change. Sure, I mean there was a few bumps on occasion, normally because of Clumsy, but it kept Handy employed. Or so he claimed. He was probably right.
She looked at all the different smurfs running from here to there. Brainy was lecturing Lazy, who was slowly getting up in response. When Brainy turned around, still talking, he kicked his rear and sent him soaring. Vexy never understood where Lazy found the strength. He immediately passed out after that burst of strength.
Hefty was lifting his dumbell, trying to impress Smurfette, who was clearly used to him by now. Nonetheless, she complimented him on his strength.
Nearby, Clumsy was desperately trying not to trip over a nearby bucket. To be honest, he excelled at tripping over things. He tripped over the bucket and crashed into Hefty, making him throw his dumbell into the air, which in turn crashed through Vanity's window. And to top it all off, it destroyed his mirror.
At first, there was silence. Then, Vanity screamed at the top of his lungs.
"MY MIRROR!!!!!!"
Vanity threw open his door and stomped outside, straight towards Hefty.
"What do you think you're doing?!?!Smurfing around your weights like they're toys! LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY MIRROR!!!" He yelled, holding up for Hefty the shattered remnants of his mirror.
"What I did?!?" Hefty replied furiously. "I didn't do it! It was Clumsy who smurfed into me like a bowling ball!"
Clumsy then cut in. "Yeah. It's true. I'm smurfly sorry, you guys."
"SORRY doesn't fix my mirror!" He paused and looked at his house. "Or my window."
He was so distressed about his mirror, he had completely forgotten about the window.
Vexy was about to get dressed to go outside and interfere, when Smurfette spoke up.
"Now hold on, you guys!" She said, but Vanity shot back,
"Hold on to what? MY MIRROR?!?! This dumbell threw his... Well, his dumbell! CLEAR THROUGH MY WINDOW!!!"
"For the last time..." Hefty replied softly, rubbing his temples. Then he shouted, "I DIDN'T THROW THE DUMBELL!!!"
"Who did? Hm? That's what I thought!" Then Vanity folded his arms over his chest and stuck out his chin.
"Vanity, don't you think you're being a little harsh?" Smurfette asked. "After all, one part of being a Smurf is being nice and forgiving, right?"
Vanity pondered that for a minute. "Maybe... But it doesn't fix my-"
"I'm sure Hefty and Clumsy would be happy to help you fix your mirror and window!" Then she looked at the two Smurfs. "Am I right?"
Hefty and Clumsy looked at each other.
Clumsy didn't hesitate. "Of course I'll help!"
Hefty, however, wasn't so sure. "I... I don't know..."
Smurfette pouted. "Oh come on Hefty! You're the strongest Smurf in the village!"
Hefty thought about that, then flexed. "True."
"And, whether you admit it or not, you did smurf a hand breaking the window."
"But I didn't-"
"I know you didn't smurf it on purpose, and I know Clumsy played a part, but he didn't smurf it on purpose either. Just be a Smurf and lend a hand!"
Hefty sighed as he flung his head back in aggravation. "Fine. I'll help."
Smurfette punched the air in triumph. "Yes! Great! You guys can get to work on it! Maybe ask for Handy's advice!"
Hefty shrugged as he went to get the supplies, while Clumsy observed the damage.
Vexy smiled at the result and went to get ready for the day. Smurfette seemed to have the kind of power to control a situation such as that one. A kind of wisdom, if you will. Vexy wished she had that ability.
As she got dressed, she looked at herself and noted how she changed over the year. Aside from being blue and wearing a white hat instead of gray, and her clothes were a bit of a lighter tone, nothing much about her appearance has changed. Even her hair still had that streak of blue. But after what happened, she became... Well, a Smurf! But while she was on occasion, slightly mischievous, (especially with Jokey and Hackus around) she didn't seem to have any defined points in her personality, which on occasion bothered her. But she decided upon herself not to think about that today.
After she got dressed, she stepped outside. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Grouchy, sitting at his usual place, at the same hour, every day. He always said that was his place where he came to... Well, grouch. Which he does. Very well.
She wondered, however, why he does this. She heard he once tried to be positive. Literally, he changed his name to Positive. Apparently, it's just not in his genes. But it still left the question... Why?
Then Grouchy's eyes averted to Vexy's. His expression seemed to lighten, but Vexy didn't notice this.
The truth was, he had a different seat to do his usual grouching. But ever since Vexy joined the village, he started grouching here, the only reason being Vexy lived close by.
The first time he saw her, Grouchy had to admit, she was stunning. Something in his heart, when he saw her, made him not want to be grouchy anymore. When he first met her, something just struck.
Grouchy ignored these feelings at first, but as he grew to know her, those feelings grew. There was no denying it.
He was in love with Vexy.
Once Vexy walked off, he shook his head. Why in the smurf would Vexy like a smurf like him? He was Grouchy, for crying out loud! The day she loved him would be the day Dreamy Smurf actually flew... To the moon. For real this time.
He got up from his bench and walked over to Hefty and Clumsy, who were just beginning work on Vanity's window, with Vanity inspecting their work.
Ok, so he was inspecting his reflection in his hand mirror. Big deal.
Hefty had just finished removing the broken glass shards from the window. Clumsy was, of course, trying to be helpful. But it's kind of hard when you're in his shoes. Especially when those shoes are both lefties.
He was bringing the new glass window pane, but ended up stumbling, almost dropping it. But Grouchy quickly grabbed it before it could hit the ground.
"Clumsy, who told you it was a good idea for you to smurf with GLASS?!?" Grouchy demanded.
Clumsy began to rub his foot on the back of his leg. "Smurfette."
Grouchy's eyes widened., then he looked down. "Oh."
"And I don't disagree." Clumsy continued. "I might be a bit... Accident prone..."
"That's an understatement." Grouchy muttered.
"But I have to smurf with this window."
"AND MY MIRROR!"
"WE KNOW!" Grouchy, Clumsy, and Hefty shouted back to Vanity.
"I smurfed it. I fix it. I can't forgive myself otherwise."
Grouchy shrugged. "Seems to me you would be more useful-"
"No." Clumsy interrupted, already knowing what Grouchy was going to say.
"What?"
"No, I'm not just gonna stand by and let Hefty work on this alone. If I have to smurf him a hundred panes of glass, then I will."
Grouchy was stunned. The only other time he can remember seeing Clumsy this determined was the first time they visited Master Winslow's world. He was willing to save Papa, regardless the risk.
And, this was over a pane of glass.
But it seemed to Grouchy, and he could be wrong, that something was going on.
Grouchy took a step closer. "Is there another reason you want to help?"
Clumsy's eyes averted. "What are you talking about?"
"This is about more than the glass, isn't it?"
Clumsy rubbed his arm nervously. "Well it's just... I'm tired of being clumsy."
"Uh huh... Reasonable. But I'm not buying it." Grouchy grinned. Clumsy was a terrible liar. When he lied, which was very rare, he doesn't make eye contact.
Clumsy reared his head back. Then looked him in the eyes. "It's partly true. But, it's just..."
Grouchy placed his hand on his shoulder. "Smurf it out already."
Clumsy took a deep breath.
"I'm trying... I'm trying to impress Smurfette."
Meanwhile, at Gargamel's castle, he is trying to relocate the Smurf village. The map he originally had was destroyed when he tried to travel there last time, and he had to make a new one. But, the downside was, he had to start searching from scratch.
But here is the upside. He knew now how the village was hidden, so they couldn't hide for very long. Unless Papa came up with a new strategy. Probably not.
He had been searching for months. Close to a year. But, now he was almost certain of where it was located. He was now mixing up something in his cauldron, with red smoke rising from it, along with Azriel sitting on a wooden table next to him.
"It's almost ready, Azriel. Soon the potion will be ready, and my alternative magic will be my most powerful creation!" He said as he sorted
"Mrow?" Azriel asked.
Gargamel looked at Azriel. "Alternative magic, you know, the magic I can use as an alternative to the Smurf essence."
"Mrow?"
"Of course it will work, I made it, didn't I?"
"Mrow."
"Your hair grew back, didn't it?"
"Mrow."
"The common cold, I'll admit was a flop, but who knows? Maybe it will mutate."
"Mrow!"
"Smurfette wasn't a dud! As much as I hate to admit it, she made her choice. I don't control that."
"Mro-"
"No more talking! It's ready."
He pulled out his wand, and dipped it in the mixture, and then turned around towards a picture of Smurfette with darts all over it.
"ALLAKAAAALECTRIFY!!!" He shouted, and shot a large red lightning bolt, and set fire to the picture.
Gargamel leaped for joy. "It works it works it woooorks!!!" And then he caught himself. "I mean I knew it would. Of course it did." He looked back at Azriel and grinned. "And you doubted me."
"Mrow." Azriel said deadpan, jumping off the table.
"Eh, who asked you?" He looked at his wand. "This is my greatest creation, and soon, I can bend this power to be even greater than smurf essence!"
Azriel turned towards him. "Mrow?"
"Why do I need smurf essence, if that's the case? Well for one, This is still a new creation. Although I doubt it will be the case, it could still have problems I don't know about yet. And second, I still want revenge on Smurfette and Papa. Papa is the one that made Smurfette," He gags before continuing, "True blue. Not to mention turning my... Rather embarrassing experiments against me now. BLAGH!! Ahem."
"Mrow?"
"I know I shoved them in a cage, but so what?"
"Mrow!"
"Anyway, the last reason is, if this mixture is as powerful as I believe it is, I can maybe find a way to combine it with the Smurf essence and make it even more powerful!"
"Mrow?"
"Yes I'm making sense, sort of, for once, thank you for noticing."
He fills a bottle full of the mixture and opens the door.
"Smurfette, Vexy, Hackus... DADDY'S HOME!!!"
This one actually took me a long time, I had writers block for a while, then I kind of lost interest, but nonetheless once I began writing, as usual, the rest came very easy. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I hope to post the next one sooner. PEACE!
