The Avengers: Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes
Episode 4: With No Way to Go Back Part 2
Nasty Burger, Amity Park
A week had passed since the Fenton's had their victorious meeting with the Guys in White and their mysterious government leader.
Danny couldn't help but smile at Sam. The teenage superhero found himself as in love with her as the moment they sealed the deal and became boyfriend and girlfriend 6 months ago. Danny wore his best suit, while Sam was in an outfit similar to the one she first wore at their school dance freshmen year.
Nasty Burger was completely empty. This was a perk for being the greatest superhero on the planet. Everyone was willing to give you a break, and Danny really needed one.
"So, of course, I said yes!" Sam laughed as she locked fingers with Danny. She smiled and brushed the hair from in front of her face.
Danny continued to smile, as he held Sam's head and nodded. Sam then continued, "So, we actually got the Earth Day celebration moved here to Amity Park!"
"That's awesome, Sam! Congratulations. Guessing Tuck is excited for the city getting new lifeblood for tourists and visitors." Danny chuckled; still a bit tickled at the idea of his best friend Tucker being the mayor of the city.
Sam took a bite out of her veggie burger and shrugged, "Of course he is. His approval rating is surprisingly high."
"When's the last time you talked to him, Danny? So much has happened for all of us over the past 6 months. You should check-in and see what's changed for him." Sam motioned at her boyfriend.
Danny leaned back and took a sip of his milkshake, "That guy was one of the least popular kids in school less than a year ago. Now he's the most important teen in Amity Park."
"Second most important," Sam whispered to Danny, with a smile on her face. Danny smiled and leaned forward. Both Sam and Danny locked lips together for a moment, and it was pure bliss for Danny.
For once, it felt like the whole world wasn't falling apart. Danny felt at peace, knowing that he could just live in the moment.
Sam pulled away from Danny, and she blushed at him. Danny continued to blush, but was also a bit disappointed. He raised his eyebrows at her quickly then he winked.
"Come on, just one kiss." Danny laughed.
The goth teen blushed and gave her boyfriend a bashful look. Danny quickly recognized that look. Sam was an incredibly prideful person, and Danny knew this. She only accepted help if things were incredibly important to her. And she only asked for help when those important things were falling apart out of her control. Danny recognized that bashful look in Sam, and he knew that his girlfriend was about to ask him for help with something.
Danny was shocked to hear, "Danny. Could you come and promote the event for Amity Park?"
Danny winched at this, and he immediately said, "Of course I'll be there. I'm always down for supporting you and Tucker in any way I can."
Sam rubbed the back of her neck, and she sighed, "I know, Danny. And you know we're super grateful for that. But-"
Sam noticed the uncomfortable look on Danny's face and she immediately felt guilty. She knew that Danny hated the spotlight. Most people would think that teenage superheroes would love getting the fame and attention, but Danny found it annoying more often than not. He and Sam couldn't share any intimate moments anymore without some fangirl running up and telling him how she was his true love. His family were harassed and badgered by both the government and public, all wanting to take them down or take them over. And then people wanted to use the Phantom like a brand.
Sam lowered her head in disappoint and shook her head at her boyfriend, "I'm sorry I asked, Danny. I know you hate this-"
Danny sighed aloud, stopping Sam. He ran his fingers through his hair and said, "You need me to do my, Phantom Landing, routine?"
Sam sighed and nodded.
Danny wiped his mouth with his napkin, then tossed the napkin on the table, feeling like dinner was ruined. Sam noticed this and nervously played with a french fry.
There was an awkward silence between the two for a moment. Sam couldn't look Danny in the eyes anymore, while Danny only wanted to look at Sam. Danny ran his hand over Sam's while smiling at her, then giving her a small nod.
"Hey, it's okay. That's the perks of dating a superhero. You can get him to do silly superhero poses for a good cause." Danny laughed, winking at Sam.
Sam blushed and leaned in, kissing Danny. She whispered, "I love you."
Danny pulled out of the kiss slightly, and he chuckled softly, "Yeah, I know."
Danny and Sam's tender moment was cut short, when Danny's emergency beeper began going off. Danny and Sam both groaned in annoyance, and Danny quickly pushed the off button. Sam looked at him in shock, causing Danny to shrug.
"It's one night. The world will live without me for one night."
Sam giggled a bit, before they both moved closer to each other for another kiss. Before their lips met, Danny's emergency beeper went off again, causing Danny to groan again in annoyance.
The Halfa activated the beeper and said, "What is it?"
Jazz's voice came from the beeper, "Danny! The US military has gotten in touch with us and asked for your help."
Danny listened as if he were bored, until Jazz said, "A Ghost Zone portal has opened near Gulmira, Afghanistan. The ghosts have taken the area hostage."
Danny frowned and looked at Sam. Sam smiled and nodded, "Of course. Go save the world, Danny."
Gulmira, Afghanistan
The people of Gulmira were being lined up and forced apart by several ghostly pirates, who had their swords and muskets drawn and ready to use.
A young boy was pulled away from his father, and the boy screamed in terror. The boy's father tried to fight against the ghostly pirates pulling him away when he heard the soft humming of a guitar.
The father glanced over to see Ember McClain, who softly played her guitar, slowly and carefully. As Ember worked her magic on her guitar, musical notes made of Ecto-Energy floated out of her guitar and rested on the chest of the father. The father's eyes glazed over, and he immediately stopped struggling against the pirates.
The boy called out, "Baba!"
The father fell in line with the other adults, who were being rounded up into several pens. The adults sat down on the ground, calling out to their children in fear, as the children were being pulled onto the large looming pirate ship.
The young boy called out to his father again, when the ghost child Youngblood floated down in front of him and smiled an innocent and happy smile.
"Don't worry, little buddy! I'm going to take you somewhere really cool! And you're going to have an awesome time! They're going to give you some awesome new friends! And those new friends are going to give you some awesome new toys to play with." Youngblood said nodding, clearly excited for the little boy.
The little boy shook his head as if he were scared, and Youngblood floated into the air and drew out his sword.
Youngblood shouted to his crew, "Mates! Get the rest of these kids on the Jolly Roger!"
The crew of ghost pirates cheered in excitement, and they continued pulling children onboard the pirate ship. The young boy cried out to his father once more, slipping through the grips of one of the ghoulish fiends. The boy ran and hugged his father from behind, and refused to let go of the older man.
The father's eyes slowly returned back to normal as the boy held onto the father with all he had in him. The father blinked and shook his head, before looking down at his son. The father hugged his son, trying to guard him from the pirates that surrounded him with their swords drawn.
Youngblood saw this sight, and he grumbled out loud to the boy, "Oh, why don't you just grow up!"
Youngblood glanced at Ember, who shrugged, "My newest hypnotic melody can only be used once a day. Can't use it on the old man again."
The ghostly pirate pointed at the father and son and shouted, "Nevermind that! Kill them! The rest of you, get moving!"
One of the ghost pirates lifted his sword up to kill the father and son, while the other crew members focused on forcing the remaining children onto Youngblood's pirate ship.
As the pirate was about to swing down at the father and son, there was a loud BOOM, that drew everyone's attention from the sky. A bright green ring of ecto-energy was created in the sky, creating a sonic boom.
All of a sudden, Danny Phantom landed right down in front of the pirate and the captive father and son. Danny landed with his knee planted in the ground, cracking the earth beneath him. Danny got to his feet with an angry look in his eyes.
Everyone looked at Danny in awe, both the ghosts and humans. Youngblood blinked in shock, while Ember's uninterested look was replaced with a small smirk.
The ghost pirate holding the family pushed the father and son aside, lifting his sword and charging at Danny. Danny walked forward and punched the charging ghost, sending him flying upward in the sky.
Danny then did a quick turn, charging up Ecto-Energy within his hand and firing it off at the group of ghost pirates trying to load children into a Youngblood's ship. The group were sent flying backwards, as the leading pirate flew back and crashed into the ship, cracking the side of the Jolly Rogers.
A pirate fired his musket at Danny from behind, and the shot hit Danny. Danny growled in pain, stumbling forward. Danny turned and fired another shot of his Ecto-Energy at this pirate, sending him flying back.
Danny leaned out of the way of a pirate, who aimed and fired his musket while attempting a headsot. Danny responded by fired out ecto-energy from his eyes, blasting back the pirate into one of the vacant homes nearby.
Danny turned his hands, both charged with ecto-energy, at the remaining crew of pirates, but he stopped as he saw they had the remaining children on their knees down. Ember was standing behind the children plucking her guitar's strings, causing flaming Ecto-energy notes to hover around the children.
Ember giggled softly while shaking her head, "You're such a boy scout, Phantom. But it is good to see you again."
Danny growled, carefully aiming at Ember, who shook her head and her eyes began glowing brighter. Ember laughed, "Don't try it, Phantom. Or you'll be cleaning up child-sized ashes for days."
Danny grumbled to himself, "Darn."
Danny pulled his ecto-energy back into himself, while slowly lowering his hands.
Youngblood pulled out his sword and floated down next to Ember. Youngblood laughed, "Let's take him, now!"
Ember glanced over at the young pirate ghost and she shook her head, "Nope. Not the plan, little man. Let's get going."
Youngblood did a childish groan, as if Ember were his older sister ruining his fun, "But Ember!"
Ember glanced back at Youngblood, like an older sister annoyed by her little brother. Youngblood sighed and then floated back up to his pirate ship.
Youngblood then said to his crew, "Okay everyone! Leave these kids. We've got enough of them."
Danny shouted out, "You're not taking any of these kids, Ember. And what's up with kidnapping, Youngblood? Still don't have a proper power source to operate your toy pirate ship?"
Danny smirked at Youngblood, who growled at him in anger. Danny added a little chuckle in, hoping to anger Youngblood enough to draw the young ghost pirate into a monologue to reveal his plan.
Youngblood opened his mouth to speak, when Ember quickly plucked a string on her guitar, and it released a small blue music note. The note floated up to Youngblood's mouth and exploded. The ghost pirate's mouth was then covered in ice.
Ember grabbed a hold of Youngblood and she flew upward towards the ship, she glanced back at Danny and laughed, "These flaming notes won't disappear until I'm in the Ghost Zone, Phantom. Don't give chase, or the kids are dead."
Danny concentrated for a moment, building up small bolts of Ecto-Energy in his fingers, as the ghost pirates flew up and got on Youngblood's ship. Danny's focus was broken by the wailing of the children onboard Youngblood's ship, and the crying of the parents that were still trapped on the ground in pens.
Danny focused on his ecto-energy again, transforming the small bolts of ecto-energy into frost. As the ghostly ship floated off the ground, Danny fired out frosty bolts of ecto-energy that collided with the notes that Ember left around the children.
The frost bolts and the flaming notes collided, creating a cloud of mist around the children.
Danny breathed a sigh of relief, seeing the children were okay. The young boy who was taken from his father ran over and grabbed hold of his dad again, both the father and son held on to each other tightly. Both were terrified to let go.
The boy looked at Danny, and Danny gave him a little nod.
The ghostly hero's attention was brought back on the Jolly Roger, as it sailed away into the sky at incredible speeds.
Danny grew his ghost tail and rocketed out towards the ghostly ship. As Danny circled around the ship, Ember played her guitar, releasing a wickedly powerful blast of Ecto-Energy that hit Danny and knocked him out of the sky.
Danny slammed into the ground hard, creating a massive crater beneath him. Danny pulled himself out of the crater and growled.
Danny launched himself up, phasing through the bottom of the pirate ship. Danny phased all the way to the top of the ship, only unphasing to deliver a powerful uppercut to Ember. Ember was sent flying up, as Danny came to a stop, landing on the ship and squaring off with the remaining pirates.
Behind him, Danny heard, "PHANTOM!"
Danny turned to see Youngblood sitting on top of an old-timey cannon. The cannon fired out a green ecto-energy covered cannonball with a red skull painted on it. The cannonball sailed at Danny's chest, who seemly leaned out of the way of the cannonball, dodging it.
Danny pointed his fist at Youngblood, spinning ball of ecto-energy formed at the end of his fist and launched out at Youngblood. The ball exploded when it hit Youngblood, sending the young ghost flying backwards into the mast of his ship.
Danny was about to fire out another ghost ray when Ember slammed her guitar's axe blade into his side. Danny roared in pain, as he was sent flying off the side of Jolly Roger. Danny hovered to a stop, but his eyes widened as a massive portal to the Ghost Zone opened in front of the ghost ship.
"What? How?" Danny asked in confusion, as the ghost ship flew into the Ghost Zone. Danny launched after the ship in vain, as it was lost to the Ghost Zone.
Danny was left blinking in a mix of confusion and horror, seeing the ghost ship filled with hostages disappear.
Danny growled and then launched into the air, activating his communicator, "Jazz! Activate the Fenton Portal!"
Guys in White HQ
The mysterious General heading the Guys in White watched on several computer monitors, viewing the situation from multiple angles.
As soon as the situation had started, the General was given the order to call in the Fentons for help. The General followed that order, of course. But he couldn't help but scramble two of Axion's best aerial combat drones to the area as well.
The General watched as Danny Phantom fought off the ghost pirates, and saved the remaining hostages on the ground. However, the General growled in anger after watching Phantom lose the ship filled withchildren hostages into the Ghost Zone.
The General growled in anger as he saw Danny fly off from the area.
As Damon Gray came into command center, as one of the operators said, "General! The Phantom is leaving the area! The hostages on board the ghost ship have been lost."
Damon asked the General, "What's happening? Is that Danny?"
The General glanced at Damon and then nodded, "Do you have the Ecto-Energy Generator up yet?"
Damon shook his head and sighed, "No sir, not yet. We don't have enough Ecto-Energy readings to successfully-"
The General waved Damon off and called out to the two drone operators, "Operators! Can your drones get ecto-energy readings and keep up with Fenton?"
One of the operators raised her eyebrows at the General, who nodded to her. She then gulped and nodded.
"Yes sir. He's still in range. We can try to apprehend him, but I doubt we'd be successful in defeating him." The young woman said, pushing up her glasses.
The General nodded and said, "Engage!"
Danny flew over more desert than he ever thought he would, when he heard the roaring of jet engines coming from behind. Danny glanced behind him and much to his shock, two large white and black combat drones (that looked similar to MQ-9 Reaper Drones) came up behind Danny.
"What?" Danny asked himself.
Danny pushed the communicator on his suit, and he called out,
"This is Danny Phantom! I have been given authority to operate in this area as a United States Military asset. Stand down!"
Danny's voice rang throughout the Guys in White's command center. All the Operatives glanced back at the General, who tilted his head in interest that Danny was reaching out to communicate.
Damon looked at the General and asked, "That's Danny! He's on our side. He's a hero!"
"Does he know he's talking to us?" The General asked Operative K, who was working on a monitor tracking Danny's flight path.
Operative K looked over and shook his head, "No sir, our signal is hidden. For all he knows, he could be being tailed by anyone."
The General looked at Damon and smirked, "We're going to get that Ecto-Energy reading you need, Dr. Gray."
The General then tilted his head and nodded, "Operators, you are clear to engage. Take him down. Not out."
The operators nodded and focused on their screens, shouting, "Yes sir!"
Danny continued looking back at the drones, before turning back and blasting off at a faster speed to leave the drones behind.
'If anyone has any questions, they can talk to the Fenton's liaison with the military. I need to get back-'
Danny heard a boom behind him, and he glanced back to see both of the drones break the sound barrier in an attempt to keep up with him flying away.
Danny growled in annoyance, but that growl of annoyance was turned to a gasp of shock when one of the drones fired off a missile that zoomed forward towards him.
Danny quickly turned around and slashed his hand at the missile. A slashing beam of Ecto-Energy was slung out at the missile, causing the missile to explode.
The missile's explosion released a bright red explosion of energy, and it nearly engulfed Danny. The force of the explosion sent Danny flying forward, knocking the wind out of the Halfa for a second.
The control room watched Danny fall out of the sky, and the female operator glanced back and nodded, "Sir! Spitfire Rockets are successful in combatting Ecto-Entities."
"What? Spitfire Rockets?" Damon glanced over to the General, who had a very focused look on his face. Damon then turned his whole body towards the General and nodded, "General? My Spitfire Rockets that I designed as a potential solution to the Disasteroid?"
"You designed them while working for Axion. They were never yours, Damon." The General said very matter-of-fact, with his eyes still locked on the screen.
The room watched as Danny recovered and launched off again, with the two drones tailing him and picking up speed.
Damon shook his head and asked, this time sounding more interested than upset, "How are my rockets able to combat Danny? My rockets weren't designed to combat Ghosts. How did you get them to work like that?"
The General then nodded to a tall, slender teenage girl. She had big green eyes and long, thick, orange hair that came down to her shoulders. When Damon saw the girl from behind, he thought that the girl's hair made the shape of a hair. The Operative wore a short white top that exposed her midriff, black cargo pants, black shoes, and white and blue gloves.
"Operative P discovered blood-red flowers that were once used to ward off ghosts in the 1600s while moonlighting as a student in Amity Park. These flowers can harm, repel, and with a little tweaking, kill Ghosts." The General nodded to the teenager, who smiled at him. The General instantly directed his attention back at the operation.
"Operative P?" Damon looked at the teenager, who directed her attention at Damon.
"Dr. Gray. I have to admit, your work in aerospace designs and security systems is incredible." Operative P nodded.
Damon couldn't help but feel slightly proud of himself. He leaned forward and asked, "You studied my work?"
The General waved the two to be quiet, quickly saying, "Operative P had to study up on both you and your work to do her mission."
Everyone's eyes focused back on the monitor, watching as Danny flew away from the combat drones.
Danny continued flying as one of the drones began firing off its chain gun at the Phantom. The General rubbed his chain and carefully watched the big screen as Danny moved and dodged the chain gunfire.
Damon took a step forward and asked, "What happens if you accidentally kill the World's Greatest Hero?"
Operative P glanced back at Damon and she smirked while putting a hand on her hip, "Who says he's the greatest hero on Earth?"
"Kimberly." The General said strictly, and Operative P straightened her stance and got quiet. After everyone focused on the screen again, the General nodded to Damon, "Despite my feelings about the Fentons or the Phantom, I don't want the kid dead."
Damon breathed a sigh of relief, before the General continued, "However, I need him neutralized and out of the way. His existence opposes national security, and he's just a kid. We need soldiers with these powers."
Damon glanced at the General and then asked seriously, "Then why is my daughter training to operate the Aerospace Suit we're designing? She's a kid, not a soldier."
The General smirked at Damon, before one of the operators shouted, "He's in my crosshairs! I got another lock!"
The General kept his eyes on Damon as he said, "Take the shot. We need him angry and unleashing his powers. Mr. Gray needs those Ecto-Energy readings.
Danny felt the chain gun bullets hit his back before he hear the chain guns from the drones going off. Lucky for Danny, these bullets were not infused with any kind of technology or energy that could hurt him. So besides feeling heavy machine gun fire on his back, Danny felt as if he were receiving dozens of heavy punches to his spine. The feeling was not much better, in Danny's opinion.
Once a stray chain gun bullet hit Danny's head, he growled in pain and instinctively turned invisible and intangible. He stopped in the air immediately, allowing both of the drones to fly right through him.
Danny rushed the drones from behind, touching his suit's communicator.
Jazz's voice immediately came in his ear and she shouted, "Danny! The Fenton Portal is prepped. But we can't open it without you getting here, and we have no idea where you might come out from."
"Jazz! Not now! I need an answer! If I take out two combat drones that have been targetting and trying to kill me while working as an asset to the US military, what would the consequences be if the drones belongs to an ally or an enemy of the US?" Danny shouted in confusion.
Jazz remained silent on the line for a moment, and she then said awkwardly, "I have no idea Danny? Sam?"
Danny blinked in confusion, when Sam's voice came over the call, "I have no idea either, babe. What's going on?!"
Danny then heard Jazz say, "Wait one moment, Danny! I'll bring Tucker on the line."
Danny closed in on one of the drone, when he heard a click. Tucker's voice then rang on the phone, "What's good, Jazz? How can I help you tonight?"
Jazz immediately said, "Umm…Tucker. Hi, Danny had a question to ask you."
Tucker awkwardly said, "Danny's on the line? How have you been, Danny? We haven't talked in a long while buddy-"
"Doing great Tucker! Just getting shot at by combat drones of an unknown origin. Could you help me out brother?" Danny quickly explained the situation to Tucker, and Tucker, Sam, and Jazz listened intensely to everything Danny told them. Danny started with the hostage situation, moving to him fighting against Ember and Youngblood and losing. Danny appreciated the fact that no one on the call made light of his lost against the two ghosts. The confusion arrived into the call when Danny mentioned that the drones decided to attack him as he flew away from the area to get home and access the Ghost Zone.
"You're saying that the missiles that they were using could hurt you?" Sam asked with a lot of concern in her voice. Sam then continued, "Are you okay, Danny? Did they hurt you too bad?"
Danny was about to answer, when Jazz interrupted and added, "You need to destroy those drones so we can get some answers. Blow one up and bring it back here."
Sam's voice then rang from the communicator, "Danny doesn't need to continue fighting if he's hurt. He needs to get out of there."
Jazz and Sam were about to begin arguing when Danny shouted, "Guys! Not the time!"
There was an awkward moment of silence after Danny's outburst, where both Sam and Jazz remained silent. After a few moments, Tucker cleared his throat and asked, "What model are these drones?"
"Don't know! They look like Predator Drones, I think! They're white and black, and they are fast too." Danny shouted.
"Welp, there's no telling if they are friend or foe. But they're shooting at you? You made radio contact with them?" Tucker asked.
"Nope! And I tried several times!" Danny said, clearly getting frustrated.
Tucker then said, "Best bet is to get out of there while you still have your dignity. If you take one of them down and they're one of our allies, that looks bad for us. If they're one of our foes, you could start a war."
"Thanks Tucker." Danny said.
"No problem bro. Stop by the office sometime so we can talk about this humiliating defeat."
"TUCKER!" Danny, Jazz and Sam shouted over the line, causing Tucker to chuckle. Danny then sighed as he angled away from the drones and flew away from the scene as fast as he could.
"We lost him sir! He's nowhere on our scanners." The operator said, looking back at the General. The General gave her a nod and then looked at Damon.
"You nearly lost your job because Ghosts and their powers are just so difficult to counter by conventional means, Gray. Well, we're going to have to change." The General nodded.
The General looked at Operatives O and K, "Did you get enough readings on the Ecto-Energy from Fenton?"
"No sir. We didn't release enough of that energy during the dogfight with the drones." K said.
Operative P glanced up at the General and asked, "Maybe we need a more straightforward approach, General."
The General glanced down at the young woman, who smiled at him. The General sighed aloud and shook his head.
"Fine. Operative P. I'm giving you full access to the arsenal. Get me the ecto-energy readings from Danny Fenton, by any means necessary." The General said.
Operative P smiled at the General and nodded.
The General then added, "And be careful, Kimberly."
Operative P smiled and walked out of the room.
Operative P walked passed the training room and she saw Valerie in her Ghost Hunting Aerospace Suit. She had to admit that Valerie looked impressive flying around on the hoverboard and operating the suit. Even with all her skills, Operative P could not find her balance on the hoverboard or access any of the basic flight functions.
Operative P walked up to the armory and smirked, "Let's get this done."
As the teenage operative looked through various weapons and tech that she could potentially use, a green mist of nanoparticles stealthy made its way into the room. The green mist formed Technus, who immediately turned invisible and looked around the large armory.
Technus ignored the teenage girl looking at gear, and locked his eyes on the technological suit that once belonged to one of "Master Blasters". Technus smiled and said aloud, "Now that looks like something I could use to kill a ghost boy with."
Operative P heard a strange voice, and she looked around in confusion, with her hand resting on her sidearm.
Technus waited for Operative P to leave, when he then turned his body into the green nanoparticles and absorbed the Master Blaster suit into himself. Technus' wrist gauntlet beams as he was absorbing the suit into himself.
"This is going to be fun!" Technus laughed as he read the message on the screen.
We need Fenton alive. Anyone else is collateral.
A Week Later,
The Night before the Earth Day Celebration
"You've got to be kidding me." Tucker laughed, as he and Danny walked through the Earth Day displays.
Danny and Tucker looked at the large balloon of Danny Phantom that floated over the stage in front of City Hall. Danny rolled his eyes at the balloon, before glancing at Tucker.
"Yep. I'm going to come flying down, and I'll land on the stage, dead center. So we should rehearse the routine so I don't accidentally crash into you." Danny said a bit annoyed thinking about the smoke and mirrors show he had to put on for tomorrow.
Tucker laughed, as the two of them moved out of the way of workers, who were still putting together everything for the event tomorrow.
"So are you really okay with showing up to this as "The Phantom", dude? As much as we appreciate it. I hate that you have to be put out of your comfort zone for us." Tucker said, putting his hand on Danny's shoulder.
Danny and Tucker walked over to the Food Vendors, who were giving out small samples to workers and the event managers and staff present.
Danny considered telling Tucker the truth, about how he wasn't okay with this. He felt his time could be spent elsewhere. In fact, he knew his time was required elsewhere. But he decided to just nod at his friend and tell him the answer he wanted to hear.
"Of course dude. I'm always happy to help."
Danny looked at the large balloon of himself as Danny Phantom, and he couldn't help but slip in the angry comment, "But did you guys seriously have to get the large balloon of me to parade around?"
Tucker saw this, and he nudged Danny, "Oh dude. Don't worry. The one I got of myself is sooo much bigger."
Danny and Tucker chuckled for a moment, then Danny looked at his friend. Danny then leaned forward.
"Are you being serious?"
Tucker just smirked at Danny, not responding. Danny opened in mouth slightly in confusion while tilting his head.
Before Danny could say anything, he and Tucker heard behind them, "Oh, he is being quite serious."
Danny and Tucker looked behind them, and Tucker's face grew a huge smile on it. In front of Danny and Tucker was Operative P, but she was in casual civilian clothes. She was carrying a clipboard and a pen.
She smiled at Tucker, then focused on Danny and nodded, "Believe me. I've seen the thing! And it's huge."
Danny blinked at the girl's phrase, and he glanced at Tucker, who was blushing. Tucker waved his hand at the girl and laughed.
"Kim! It's good to see you!" Tucker smiled and waved his hand. Kim winked at Tucker, causing him to blush.
Danny narrowed his eyes at the two, before looking at the beautiful orange-haired girl that was seemingly flirting with his best friend.
Tucker noticed the confusion and he nodded to Kim, "Oh! Danny! This is my friend, Kim."
"Actually, it's Kimberly. Kimberly Possible." Kim Possible extended her hand to Danny, who shook it. Kim then smiled and nodded, "But my friends do call me Kim."
"Cool. How do you know Tucker?" Danny said, glancing at his friend, who could not remove the large smile from his face.
Kim nodded, "Well, we met a couple months ago-"
"Three months, actually." Tucker interrupted to add-in.
Kim giggled and continued, "I'm new in town, and Tucker was willing to offer and show me and my little brothers around."
Danny looked at Tucker, who was now sweating. Danny could tell that his friend was obviously nervous around this beautiful girl. What made Danny more interested was the fact that the girl gave some signals of being interested in Tucker.
Kim's voice then snapped Danny out of his inward thoughts, as she laughed, "He actually took me to the Nasty Burger, under the guise of 'the newest tradition for all newcomers to Amity Park'."
Kim gave Tucker a little smirk, as she put her hand on her hip, "Little did I know, Mr. Foley Fresh was taking me on my first date with him."
"You two are dating?" Danny said, with a shocked look on his face. Danny gave Tucker a hard glare, and Tucker raised his hands in defense.
"I could never tell you. You were never around the past few months!" Tucker laughed.
Danny's attention was then brought to Kim, who smoothly laughed, "I wouldn't say we were dating. I would say…we're exploring our friendship. Through a series of fun get together." Kim's cheeks began burning as she added, "That sometimes end with us kissing."
Danny looked at Tucker, who seemed satisfied with that answer for now. Danny had to admit, he was really surprised by Tucker's new girlfriend. After Tucker became mayor, some of his old potential girlfriends came out of the woodworks to attempt to get with him, but he turned them all down.
'Wonder what makes this girl so special?' Danny asked himself, as he looked at Kim, who tilted her head at Danny now.
Danny cleared his throat and nodded, "Well, nice to meet you Kim."
"Kimberly." Both Tucker and Kim said to Danny, who frowned at them both.
Danny then nodded, "Kimberly. I'm Danny Fenton."
Kim then began chuckling loudly. She wipes a tear from her eye as she continued chuckling.
Kim then opened one eye and looked at Danny. Danny frowned at her, as Kim then said, "That's hilarious that you think I don't know who you are. You're like the second most important teenager in Amity Park."
"Whose the first?" Danny said, crossing his arms with a smile.
Kim nudged Tucker, and Tucker blushed and waved her off.
Tucker took the clipboard Kim had, and he said, "Kim was helping out with the last-minute setup for the event. Because she's the best."
Kim looked at Danny and she nodded, "You must be excited about tomorrow."
Danny winced at the question.
Kim noticed this and a small smile came across her face.
"We wouldn't be having Earth Day if you hadn't come along and saved the world from the Disasteroid. You're our hero, Danny." Kim said, pushing the subject to see how Danny would respond.
Danny quickly and shortly said, "I'm excited to see Sam's speech about the environment."
Kim nodded and laughed, "Yeah, Sam is such a great speaker. She'll do well tomorrow."
Danny glanced at Kim confused at first. He then looked at Tucker, then back at Kim. Kim couldn't help but smile at Danny's confused face. One of the beautiful things about teenagers was that they never could hide their feelings or emotions. And people like Danny wore those emotions on his sleeve. So as Danny looked at Kim in confusion, she knew that Sam and this event were both points to press on Danny.
Kim then nodded and laughed, "You do know that I know Sam, right?"
Danny blushed and awkwardly just said, "Mmph."
Tucker crossed his arms at Danny and nodded, "Yeah, we had a double date last month. Sam said you would be there with us. But you kinda couldn't show up."
Danny frowned at Tucker, and Tucker raised his hands and smiled at Danny. Tucker tried to comfort his friend by saying, "No hard feelings though. The cost of being friends with one of the world's best superheroes, right?"
"The World's Best Superhero." Kim corrected Tucker, with a small smile at Danny. Danny winched at this comment, and Kim noticed that she finally pushed the right button for Danny.
Danny turned from the two and nervously laughed, "Thanks, guys. I'm going to go to the restroom. Grab me a burger from the Nasty Burger stand, okay Tucker!"
Tucker and Kim watched as Danny walked away from them.
Kim put on a shocked face, as she looked at Tucker. Kim then whispered, "Hope I didn't say something that made him upset."
Tucker then shook his head and whispered back, "He really isn't a fan of the whole "hero-worship" stuff." Tucker looked at the stage in front of City Hall and he continued, "Personally, I think he probably wishes that he still had his secret identity. Maybe don't mention the superhero stuff to him for a bit."
Kim remained silent, and for once she didn't feel the need to try to push Tucker to get any more information out of him. She actually felt a bit of sadness come up. She did understand the feeling of having one's childhood stripped from her, and the pain that can result from that. Kim frowned thinking about her mother and father, and how they were taken from her at a young age, and how her grandfather, the General, trained and molded left her after res without any real childhood.
Tucker noticed the frown on Kim's face, and he put his hand on the small of her back. Tucker smiled at Kim and nodded, "Hey, it's okay. Danny's one of the strongest guys I know. He'll get through this, believe me."
Kim smiled at Tucker's optimism, and for a moment she hoped that Tucker was right. Kim thought of what her grandfather had said early about how the government didn't need Danny Phantom.
'Maybe he could have that normal life he wants.' Kim thought to herself.
Kim leaned her head on Tucker's shoulder and said, "So, tell me about the ceremony!"
Tucker smirked and pointed at the stage, "Okay, so that's the stage. Danny's gonna come flying down on it, and he's going to do a superhero landing."
"Oh really." Kim said, putting on a small smile and looking up at Tucker.
"We are over the drop zone." Danny heard in his suit's communicator. The cargo door to the airplane Danny was in began to open wide, and the air began flowing out of the plane's cargo hold.
Danny smiled as the hot air around him was being pulled outside.
He could hear fireworks going off below him, and the thought of the celebration and what today was about helped focus him.
'Today is about Earth and Sam. Not about me. Today is not about Danny Phantom.' Danny thought to himself, as the cargo doors opened completely.
Danny immediately heard the words, "You're clear to go! Good luck!"
Danny smirked as he ran towards the open cargo ramp and leapt out of the plane. Danny fell out of the bright blue sky downward towards the city of Amity Park. The downtown / City Hall area of Amity Park was covered with cheering people below Danny.
Danny could hear ACDC's Shoot to Thrill playing down on the ground below him, and he knew this was a little touch that his little sister Dani must have added in for him. Dani loved theatrics and was the one who actually gave Sam the idea to give Danny's entrances and stances a name.
'Cause I'm the one who's gonna make you burn!
As Danny sailed down towards the city, he grew out his ghost tail and rocketed downwards. Danny began twirling around to give himself a bit of a stylistic flare. It was all about the theatrics, right?
I'm gonna take you down
Danny's descending spiral was interrupted when a firework went off too close to him. The force of the firework knocked Danny slightly off his path.
Oh, down, down, down
Danny, however, quickly recovered and continued rocketing towards the stage in front of City Hall. Danny couldn't help but find himself in the flow of the show now, creating a small Ecto-Boom behind him as his descension accelerated.
So, don't you fool around
Danny smirked as he closed in on his target on the stage.
I'm Gonna Pull it! Pull it! Pull the Trigger!
Danny heard these words as he slowed down enough not to destroy the stage, but came in fast enough to make an epic entrance.
Danny slammed down on the stage, hitting his mark perfectly. Danny's landing caused the large crowd of people at City Hall to roar in excitement and awe, as the audience waved and shouted for more.
Danny stood to his feet, and he opened his arms out. Immediately a flare of cheers erupted louder than before.
Danny glanced over to Tucker, who was also on the stage. Tucker was clapping, with a look of awe on his face as well. Danny glanced to see the others on the stage. Much to Danny's surprise, the President of the United States stood on the stage as well. Danny smiled at her, and she gave him a quick nod and continued her clapping as well.
Danny pointed at the crowd, and he laughed. The Halfa made another pose and the crowd continued to cheer.
The backstage had dozens of people running around trying to keep everything running smoothly. Kim was working backstage, while Sam was getting last-minute makeup checks by her mother.
"Mom! Stop it, please." Sam groaned aloud.
Sam's mother smiled at her daughter and said with a hint of pride, "Oh, you're so beautiful my love. You look so pretty."
Sam blushed and waved her mother off.
Kim looked from behind the curtain and saw Danny still waving at the crowd in his Phantom form. Kim pushed a button on her watch.
Under the stage, a large device began to let off a small humming noise.
Kim then pushed her earpiece and whispered, "Ecto-Reader is activated. On-standby until further notice."
Kim looked behind her to see Sam walking up to her. Kim smiled at Sam and nodded.
"You look fantastic, Sam. Are you excited about your speech?" Kim asked.
Sam shrugged and then honestly answered, "I mean, I am excited. But not like a good excitement. Like an excitement that tells me, 'I'm actually about to go give a speech in front of the President of the United States. It's that kind of exciting."
Kim nodded and then laughed, "So, it's nervous energy."
"Veeery nervous energy." Sam laughed.
Danny opened his arms, and the his Ecto Rings appeared at his waist. The Ecto-Rings began moving upward and downward, transforming Danny back into his human form.
Danny stood there in his human form wearing a black and white three-piece suit with a smile. He waved at everyone in the crowd once again.
Danny then chuckled, "So! Who's ready for a show?"
Valerie soared around the training room on the hoverboard of the Aerospace suit. Valerie did a quick maneuver where she reached the end of the room but did a quick 180 to avoid slamming into the wall.
"Dad! You really outdid yourself with the control in the suit! I love it!" Valerie cheered as she pointed at the safety glass, where Damon and the General stood watching Valerie.
"She's a natural." The General nodded to Damon, who avoided saying anything.
Valerie landed the suit and asked, "Hey, when are we getting some Ecto-Weapons in the suit?"
"Soon, Ms. Gray." The General said into the microphone.
Valerie sighed and stepped off the hoverboard. She stretched and yawned, "Well, since we aren't going to have any weapons on this thing any time soon, why don't I just take the rest of the day off? The Earth Day Celebration is today, and I was thinking about going out to hang with my friends,"
The General was about to speak when there was a beeping noise that interrupted him. Both the General and Damon looked at the monitor, as a new reading for an energy signature came into the computer.
Damon gasped slightly, and the General glanced over at him.
"Is that it, Damon?" The General asked with great interest.
Damon just nodded and said, "Yeah, it is. We need to save all the recordings. Now."
The General nodded, pushing down on his communicator, "I need all Level 2 and Level 1 scientists in my face in less than 3 minutes! Move now!"
Technus walked through the crowd in a human form, wearing his purple and black lab coat, with a white tie.
Technus watched a the crowd cheered for Danny as he stood on stage and waved at them. Technus tilted his head in interest when he felt technology underneath the stage. The technology he sensed was some sort of scanning technology.
Technus smirked at this, waving his hand slightly. A thin mist of green nanoparticles floated into the air, making their way into the device below the stage. The nanoparticles began tampering with the device slightly.
Technus smirked as Danny's girlfriend took to the stage, waving to the crowd. The crowd's cheers were not nearly as hyped for Sam as they had been for Danny, but there was enough cheering to not take away from the moment.
Sam got to the podium in front of the stage and began speaking about the importance of protecting the world and the environment.
Technus looked at Danny with a wide smile, and Danny caught a glimpse of Technus as he scanned the crowd with a smile on his face. Danny's smile immediately disappeared as he did a double-take, seeing Tecnhnus again.
Technus winked before he stretched his hands outward and shouted, "WE INTERUPT YOUR PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED EVENT TO BRING YOU YOUR NEWLY SCHEDULED DISMISS!"
Technus launched his hands forward, firing out powerful bolts of green Ecto-Lightning that blasted over the crowd of people and struck the stage. Tucker leaped over to try and protect the President, while Danny leapt forward and pulled Sam to the ground.
The entire command center went silent, as the scientists and operatives watched in horror as the stage that the President was once standing on were engulfed in ghostly lightning.
Damon covered his mouth in shock, before looking at the General. Damon's heart dropped when he saw the look of genuine concern on the General's face.
Valerie, who was standing behind her father, shouted out, "Danny! NO!"
The crowd immediately entered into a panic, as Technus hovered over them, releasing small speakers that had helicopter rotors. The speakers boomed out Technus' voice as he laughed.
"Ghost Child! You time has come!" Technus' voice rocked throughout City Hall, as he he came to a stop in front of the burning stage.
Tehnus tilted his head when he saw Tucker pulling both the President and Sam to safety. Technus then heard beneath him, "Lightning Butt!"
Technus looked over to see Danny pull his tie off, wearing a look of pure rage on his face.
Danny then continued, "You attacked my friends! You attacked my city! You're the one out of time! I'm GOING GHOST!"
Danny clenched his fists and summoned the Ecto-Energy within him to transform.
After a few moments of nothing, Technus smirked at Danny. Danny looked down at his human form and he gasped in confusion.
"What?" Danny looked up at Technus and asked, "What did you-"
Technus summoned the Masters' Blasters gloves that were once worn by download. The gloves produced whips made out of pure Ecto-Energy. Technus added some of his lightning to amplify the deadliness of the glove.
Technus immeidaltey slung down the whip at Danny, who tried to dodge the attack. The whip slammed against the ground beside Danny, creating a large flash of brilliant light and force that sent Danny flying into the crowd of screaming and running people.
Danny slammed into the ground, hard. Danny coughed, as he tried to breath and regain control of himself.
Technus floated to the ground with a smile on his face, "I love this part of the job, honestly!"
"What's going on?!" Kim shouted into her earpiece, as she stood backstage trying to evacuate fearful staff and production members for the ceremony.
"I don't know, Kimberly. But you need to get out of there. There is a ghost on the scene and you're not equipped to handle it." The General's voice came from the earpiece.
Kim then shouted, "Grandpa! I just saw Danny try to change into his ghost form and fail! That scanning device shouldn't be doing anything to Danny's powers, right?"
The General remained silent for a second, and this concerned Kim.
The General then quickly responded, "We looked into the possibility of using the Ecto-Scanner as a potential weapon to depower ghosts temporarily. But it was pointless. We didn't have enough data on Ecto-Energy."
Kim then turned and headed back inside, only saying, "I have to shut down that device, or Danny's going to die!"
"Wait!" The General yelled into the earpiece.
Kim made her way through the backstage, as ghostly flames began spreading from the destruction that Technus caused on the stage.
Kim was surprised to see Tucker running towards her with the President and Sam in front of him.
"Keep running!" Tucker shouted to Sam and the President, although he came to a stop next to Kim. Tucker quickly grabbed Kim and pulled her into a hug, "KIM! I'm so glad you're okay! I thought you were-"
"Not now, Tucker!" Kim said, pushing him away towards the President and Sam. Kim pointed at Sam and shouted, "Get them out of here! And protect my boyfriend!"
Tucker blushed at what Kim had just said and done, but Sam yanked him forward. As Tucker found himself being pulled away from the fight, he wondered why Kim wasn't running away from the fight, but towards it.
Danny laid on the ground, as Technus walked up to him. Technus couldn't help but smile at the young man, who seemed completely helpless to him.
Technus whipped his lightning whips downward at Danny's exposed back, hoping to harm the boy. Much to Technus' surprise, the Danny that he hit turned out to be a holograph. Technus' whip cut through a small cube that was placed on the ground.
Technus tilted his head in amusement as he read the writing on part of the cube aloud.
"The Fenton's 'Right Behind You'?" Technus said, with a hint of confusion in his voice.
Technus asked, "What?!"
Danny then came behind Technus with a folded chair, slamming it down on Technus' head. Technus leaned forward in a bit of shock, but quickly whipped his lightning whip around and cut the chair half.
Danny stumbled back in fear as Technus began to chuckle uncontrollably.
"Oh! That's actually really good! And clever! Who came up with that, Ghost Boy?" Technus asked as he slung his whips down at Danny's left arm. Danny rolled out of the way, nearly getting dismembered by Technus' attack.
Technus swung his whips down at Danny's legs this time, causing Danny to quickly roll away from that attack, barely dodging the dismembering blow again.
Technus chuckled as he swung his whips towards Danny's crotch, causing Danny to open his legs wide, nearly getting hit there. Danny looked down at the scorched Earth between his legs that nearly removed his manhood, before glaring up at Technus.
Technus shook his head and laughed again, "Oh, the joy of taking away the possibility of FUTURE FENTONS! Now that's the fun of this job!"
Danny leaped to his feet and turned to get some distance between himself and Technus. Technus pulled the whips back in the gauntlet, this time just pulling his Ecto-Energy-covered hand towards himself.
Danny found himself under Technus' telekinetic pull, and he was yanked backward into Technus, who grabbed him by the back of the neck.
Technus laughed and said, "Ghost Child. Prepare to meet your maker! Well actually, I guess first you'll be meeting the man who hates you more than anyone else. Then, he will send you to meet your maker!"
Kim stealthy exited the backstage area and looked in a hole in the stage to see the massive device that the Guys in White had put under the stage. Much to Kim's surprise, the device was now covered in green ecto-energy, and it had black and green outlines that ran through it.
Kim pulled out a small device and moved to plant it on the device, when she heard behind her, "Kim! What are you doing?"
Kim glanced back to see Tucker standing there, looking at her in shock. Sam ran from behind Tucker, and she shouted out to Danny, who was being held by Technus.
"Danny!" Sam shouted.
Technus looked at the three teenagers, and he waved, "Oh look! More teenagers! You know! I love teenagers!"
Technus immediately shot lightning at the three. Sam dove to her left, while Kim did a backflip and tackled Tucker to the right.
Danny elbowed Technus in the face, causing him to yelp and drop the Halfa. Danny rolled away, trying to recover before Technus could. Too bad for Danny, Technus was recovered and now the look of amusement was gone from his face.
Technus heard in his ear, "This is not the time for games, Technus. Get me the Ghost Boy. We don't have much time left."
"Yeah yeah! I heard you!" Technus zoomed at Danny, who rolled away to try and keep out of Technus' grasp.
Tucker, who was on top of Kim, looked at her in shock, asking, "What is that device under the stage? And what do you have to do with it?"
Kim blinked at Tucker in shock, and she shook her head, "Sorry, Tucker. But I can't tell you either of those things. But we need to destroy it before Danny's killed."
Tucker nodded, getting off of Kim. Tucker offered Kim a hand up, but Kim easily twisted off the ground, grabbing hold of the device explosive device she had on her person.
Kim ran and tossed the small explosion down into the hole where the device was. Kim rolled onto the stage, immediate hopping to her feet and leaping off as the device exploded, destroying what remained of the stage.
The force of the explosion caused Sam, Kim, Danny, Tucket, and Technus to all go flying backward. Sam, Kim, and Tucker rolled away, as Danny and Technus came to a stop and squared off with one another.
Danny crossed his arms, summoning his Ecto-Energy ring around him, not bothering to shout out his phrase or anything. Danny's Black and White jumpsuit formed around him.
Danny Phantom appeared in front of Technus, causing the panicking crowd to slowly calm down. Kim, who had a gash on her head, glanced up at Danny sizing up Technus. Tucker had gotten to his feet already, watching Danny prepare for the fight. Sam was still on her stomach, but she did look up to see Danny preparing for battle.
Technus smirked and laughed, "Okay! It was fun while it lasted."
Danny fires out Ghost Rays from both of his hands, and Technus summoned the electric whips and knocked the blasts away from himself.
Danny summoned two balls of Ecto-Energy when Technus shouted in laughter and slung the whips across Danny's lower stomach. Danny growled in pain, as his jumpsuit was ripped and his stomach was cut into.
Danny flipped and tossed the two balls of power at Technus, who responded by charging forward at Danny and going intangible. Danny met Technus' charge with his own, also going intangible.
Both intangible beings hit each other, forcing each other back.
Danny slid to a stop, immediately firing out Ecto-Beams from his eyes. Technus lifted his wrist-mounted cannon up, firing out several missiles at Danny and the remaining civilians nearly.
Danny fired out Ecto-Energy from his hands, adding his own Frost powers to the Ecto-Energy, creating a wall of ice in front of himself and fleeing civilians.
Danny looked back and growled as he saw people beginning to stand there and watch Danny fight with this ghost as if it were some pay-per-view fight. If the people didn't move out of the way soon, they'd be paying the price with their lives.
Danny and Technus took to the sky, both trading blows with each other using Ecto-Energy.
Danny growled in anger, as he looked down on Amity Park, seeing the day that was once so special, now ruined because of Technus.
Danny glared at Technus, who smirked at him.
"Sorry, did I steal your thunder, Ghost Boy?" Technus laughed in Danny's face.
Danny opened his mouth and let out his Ghostly Wail! Danny's Ghostly Wail let out bright green powerful waves of Ecto-Energy that was seemingly Omni-Directional. The Ghostly Wail's power immediately hit Technus, and the phantom technomancer was sent flying back helpless because of Danny's powerful attack.
Danny found his pent-up rage becoming infused with the Ghostly Wail, and as the heat and anger within him continued to boil up, sparks of flames began to be created around him.
Danny's Ghostly Wail amplified, increasing in power and deadliness, as the city began to shake. Danny tried to focus the Ghostly Wail on Technus, who was now pinned around the ground by the powerful attack, but Danny was seemingly losing control of his own strength.
It was not until Danny heard a cry of pain that he was snapped back to reality. Danny's eyes rested on Sam, who covered her ears with all her might. Blood was streaming out of her ears, and tears were flowing from her eyes. Danny saw that Tucker was also on the ground, covering his ears. Tucker tried to get on top of Kim to shield her from the attack, but Kim was still on the ground with both bloodied ears and tear-filled eyes.
Danny's Ghostly Wail came to a stop, as he looked around and saw the city-wide destruction that he had caused. Almost everyone in Amity Park had been covering their ears from the Ghostly Wail Danny released. Several of the buildings were either toppled, destabilized, or shattered to pieces.
Danny's eyes widened in horror at what he had just done, when he transformed back into his human form, clearly out of energy.
Danny tumbled towards the ground, slamming down on the ground relatively hard. Fortunately for Danny, his natural durability still held enough to survive the attack.
Technus pulled himself on his hands and knees, as he glanced at the unconscious Halfa. Technus then heard in his ear, "What have you done?! You were supposed to capture Fenton before this happened."
Technus growled, "I can still capture the little brat."
"No! Because of you, he has already begun to unlock the dangerous powers within him. You need to pull back before you are destroyed." The voice to Technus.
Technus growled, before stopping and nodded, "Fine! Get me out of here!"
A purple portal opened in time and space, pulling Technus away.
Amity Park looked at the unconscious Ghost Boy in horror, not knowing how to move on from today. One thing was clear, today was the day everything had changed..
There's Part 2. Part 3 should be coming out either this week or next week.
Take a look at the Poll I made on my Profile. It's about the Bleach universe and how it will tie into the overall story I'm writing.
Until then, I'll see you late, alligators.
