Uesugi Fuutarou was a normal kid that liked helping people as he was walking home from his school as he listened to music with his blue headphones from an old phone his father gave him a while ago.
'Dad does have good taste in music' he thought as he continued to listen to some music from a certain band.
While he was walking, he noticed a particular girl that was swinging on some swings in a park. She had mid long red hair, deep blue eyes and was wearing a black uniform with a white skirt.
But her facial expression was what caught his attention. It looked like a face that lost something dearly and was depressed. Even her aura was gloomy and sad much like her face.
'That girl is really beautiful... I wonder if something happened to her to make her sad...' he thought as he continued to look at the girl playing by the swings.
After a few minutes of observing the girl, he approached her as she continued to swing. As he got closer, he that she was actually crying with some tear drops landing on her skirt while swinging.
Reaching to his pocket, he took out a handkerchief and went closer to the girl until she noticed him. Looking at her, even if she was crying she looked really beautiful in his eyes and was thinking even more about why she was crying all alone in a park.
He then offered his handkerchief to the girl where she looked at him for a moment before reaching for it and wiping her face.
"T-thank you..." She said meekly as she sniffled and continued to wipe her tears that was overflowing from her eyes.
After wiping her tears, she tried to return the handkerchief but he said that she needed it more. With that she tried to return it again while he kept saying that she needs it more, she finally gave it to the kindness of the boy.
The boy then sat down on the other swing that was beside hers and joined her playing making the girl tilt her head in confusion on why the boy accompanied her.
"
So why were you crying?" He asked as he started to swing on the swings as the girl just continued to swing slowly.
"I-I justcan't believe my mother is gone..." As she said that he stopped swinging as memories that was buried deep in his head came rushing back. He knew what was the girl feeling that time.As he looked at her face once more, it reminded him of his sisters face on that faithful day. Where he... lost his own mother right in front of his eyes.
There was a quick silence between the two before Fuutarou spoke.
"I understand you... My mother died a few years back due to some incurable illness and we are now in debt from hospital bills... I wish everyday to get out of this situation. And to do that I'll get a part-time job when I reach my 3rd year in middle school."
The girl looked at him as he just played on the swings without changing his face.
"T-then why aren't you sad?" She asked.
"Well, I had to be strong for my little sister and I made a promise with my mother. It was to always be happy even if she's gone." He said with a smile as he jumped of the swings and landed.
"And did you know, music also helps to deal with sadness?" As Fuutarou said that, he takes off his headphones and puts them on the girls head, causing her to blush. He then played a soft song that gave a sense of happiness to the girl as she listened to the music with a soft smile on her face as she hummed the tune as the boy watched her.
As the song finished, the girl took off the headphones and looked at the boy "That was a nice song. I don't feel that sad anymore" the girl smiled.
"That was the song me and my mother listened to together most of the time" The boy gave the girl a radiant smile, resulting on the girl blushing.
'H-he looks handsome...' she thought as she covered her face to hide the crimson tint on her cheeks.
"
Ah! I need to go home!" The boy said before he jumped off the swings.
"W-wait your headphones!"
"Keep it, you need it more than me! Also you look cute with them around your neck!" He said as he waved goodbye.
"M-my name is Miku!" She said as she waved back to the boy.
"Mine's Fuutarou!" He said before he ran towards his home, smiling as he helped another person before the day ended.
'That boy was really handsome and kind' the girl thought happily as she held the headphones that was around her neck.
"Miku! We finally found you!" A girl that looked exactly like Miku called out to her with three more following from behind.
"Don't just run off anywhere Miku... Us and dad were worried about yo-" one of the girls was stopped talking as she noticed the headphones around her neck.
"What's that Miku?" Another girl asked.
"A-ah it's... something special" she said as she gave a radiant smile much like to the boy he met earlier, which shocked the sisters as she was never the type to smile and it was the first time they saw her smile that brightly since they lost their mother a week ago. They decided not to pry and went home with Miku who was skipped which each step that showed she was really happy.
"I'm home!" The young Fuutarou said as he arrived at an old apartment where he was greeted by his father who was taking care of his little sister.
"Welcome ba- Oh? Where are those headphones you usually wear?" His father asked.
"I gave it to a girl that was crying. After I gave it to her she was happy and that made me happy too."
Isanari stared at the boy with a tear forming in his eye. 'Hayami, our son really inherited your kindness' he thought as he hugged his son.
"I also hope that I'll meet her again."
"If fate allows it. Anyways get changed we'll have dinner soon." Isanari said as he received a yes from his son as he runs up to his room to get changed.
"He also inherited my success in girls haha" he said while laughing before going back to cool their dinner.
Will they meet again? Perhaps... Their fates have already intertwined and there was already a red that was connecting the two so maybe this meeting was destined...
