Author's Note: This is a cannon divergence that takes place after "Nothing Lasts Forever." So Dan and Remi are still alive, and Michael is in possession of Azrael's blade.

Chapter One

"Knowing my brother, he won't be wasting any time."

It wasn't long after that Remiel left that she also returned to her apartment. Chloe had offered to stay, but Lucifer declined the offer saying he needed time to think. Translation, he wanted to beat himself up without her around. Chloe shook her head and took a sip of her coffee. Lucifer had been alone for so long he didn't know how to accept support. Yes, he'd called her last night after his Dad and Mom left, but having his self worth jeopardized always caused him to curl in on himself.

"Mom, you came home earlier than I expected you to. Is Lucifer all right?"

Chloe smiled at her always watchful daughter and hummed at her as she swallowed the liquid in her mouth. "Yeah, Monkey, I think so. Lucifer is just extra sad right now. And he wanted to be alone last night."

"Is there anything I can do to help him?"

Chloe smiled, running her fingers across Trixie's cheek. "Just give him some time and a lot of support, Trix. He'll eventually come around. He usually does," she said, hearing a loud thud against the apartment door. Chloe jumped to her feet and stepped around Trixie. "Don't move," she instructed, pulling her gun.

She walked slowly toward the door, the gun pointed in front of her. Her heart pounded in her chest as she reached for the door lock. Would it be Michael again here to kidnap both her and Trixie this time? She clicked the lock and opened the door. What she saw was definitely not what she'd expected to see. Reholstering her gun, she knelt down beside the young man and reached for her cell phone.

"Trix, stay back and call Lucifer," she said over her shoulder.

Her eyes locked on Trixie who quickly lifted her own chocolate brown eyes and nodded her head. She ran to her room and Chloe called Amenidel. She rose quickly to her feet grabbing a towel off the breakfast bar. She glanced around thankful no one was up yet in her complex.

She knew if any of her neighbors saw the fallen young man the cat would be out of the bag. Kneeling down again, Chloe pressed the towel against the bleeding wound on his stomach. She could hear Trixie asking Lucifer to get to the apartment as quickly as he could. Amenidel finally answered his phone on the fourth ring. She could hear Charlie crying in the background, and she winced in sympathy.

"Chloe, what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry to call you so early Amenidel, but I need you to come over to my apartment now."

"Are you or Trixie hurt?"

"No, we're fine, but someone else is here who is hurt very badly. Please, Amenidel."

"I'll be there shortly," he promised.

Chloe hung up and glanced up hearing the floorboards creak. "Trixie, I told you to stay back."

"Mom he's hurt."

"Yes, baby, he's hurt very badly. Is Lucifer coming?"

"He said he'd be here in less than five minutes," Trixie said, grabbing a second towel then gently stepping forward.

"Trix, be careful. He could be hurt in other places."

"I'll be careful, Mom," Trix said, handing the extra towel to Chloe. Her eyes drifted over the unconscious young man at her feet. "I think one of his wings is broken."

Trixie knelt down before Chloe could issue another warning. She gently stretched out her hand running it over the top of the awkwardly bent wing. Chloe bit her lip knowing she couldn't' do anything to help Trixie if she didn't want the young man to bleed out. Trixie twisted the wing just enough to allow it to stretch out in the proper way. Her daughter smiled, lifting her eyes just as two large gusts of wind blew their hair into their faces.

"Chloe, what's…"

"Blood hell, brother, pay attention where…"

"Amenadiel, Lucifer, you're here. Can you help him?" Trixie quickly rose to her feet, and grabbed both brothers' hands, tugging them thus interrupting the beginnings of an argument.

"Child, get behind me," Lucifer instructed, pulling Trixie closer toward him.

"No, he needs your help, Lucifer. He's an angel. You have to help him," Trixie insisted, pulling against Lucifer's grip.

Chloe looked from the brothers and Trixie to the bleeding young man. "If you don't do something soon he's going to bleed out."

"We have to move him before we can help him. We're too exposed out here," Amenadiel said, kneeling down.

"You'll break his wings if you try to move him, brother."

"And we can't leave him out here either, Luci."

"I know," Lucifer growled.

Trixie sighed, stepping around the arguing brothers once Lucifer released his hold on her arm. "They're clueless sometimes."

"Yeah, they are," Chloe agreed.

"Mom, keep his head stable, and Lucifer you lift his feet. Amenadiel, you lift his shoulders, and I'll deal with his wings."

"Trix, that's not a good idea…"

"Mom, we don't have time to argue about this. He's going to die."

Lucifer sighed but approached the young man's feet. "The Urchin is right. Lift him up on three Amenadiel. One…two…three," he said, lifting the young man off the concrete.

"Be careful, Trixie. Those wing tips look sharp," Chloe said, stabilizing the young man's head.

"That's because they are, Mom. The tips are bladed," Trixie said, crawling under the bladed wings.

A second later, the wings fluttered then retracted into the young man's back. "Trix, how did you do that?"

"Later, Mom," Trix said, pushing the adults toward the apartment.

"Right," Chloe said, as they quickly moved the young man into the apartment. "Guys, lay him on the couch."

"He doesn't look good," Amenadiel said, once he stepped back. "Luci, he needs one of your feathers. It's the only thing that's going to save him now."

Lucifer nodded his head and without a word unfurled his wings. He curled them closer toward his body as they rolled out of his back to avoid hitting them against anything. Grabbing one of the smaller feathers, he pulled it free, handing it to Amenadiel. He stepped away from everyone so that he could fully spread his wings before furling them away.

Chloe watched Amenadiel gently lift the blood soaked shirt and lay the glowing white feather on the wound. She shielded her eyes as the entire apartment was soon bathed in a bright white light. She lowered her hand a few moments later once the light went out. The young man was still unconscious and still breathing. She frowned seeing he was also still deathly pale.

"Is he going to be all right now, Lucifer?"

"I don't know, Urchin. He lost a lot of blood."

"He needs a blood transfusion," Trixie said, looking between the brothers.

"We don't even know what blood type he is," Chloe said. "Do angels even have blood types?"

"We don't need to. Be right back," Trixie said, running toward her room.

Chloe was already shaking her head when Trixie returned with her supplies. "Absolutely not, Beatrice Espinoza!"

"Mom, I'm a universal blood donor."

"It's not safe, Trixie. You aren't 110 pounds," Chloe argued.

"Mom, he needs blood, and I'm O negative."

"I'll do it, Child. Since we're both angels, his body shouldn't reject my blood," Lucifer said, taking off his jacket and rolled up his sleeve.

"Okay," Trixie said, placing the supplies on the coffee table and grabbing a chair from the breakfast bar. "Sit down please, Lucifer."

"Spawn, do you know what you're doing?"

"No, she doesn't. Trixie, you aren't a doctor or a phlebotomist."

"I've watched enough Grey's Anatomy, Mom. I know how to do this," Trixie said, cleaning her hands with rubbing alcohol before grabbing what she needed from the emergency kit she also had brought with her then lifted her gaze meeting Lucifer's eyes. "Do you trust me, Lucifer?"

"Yes, I do, Urchin."

"Trixie, wait. This isn't going to work. He's not vulnerable."

"It will work, Urchin. I promise you it will. Do it," Lucifer said, taking a quick swig from his flask then nodded his head and squeezed his hand into a tight fist.

Trixie nodded her head, then cleaned Lucifer's arm, before inserting the needle into his vein after finding a good size one. She attached the tubing to the needle she now held over the young man. She repeated her process then opened the valve at Lucifer's end allowing his blood to run through the tube. Taking a step back, she glanced down at her watch setting the timer.

"I'll stop it in ten minutes," she said. "You should have given him a pint by then."

"Let it go longer, Urchin. He may need two pints."

"No, you're only giving him one, Lucifer," Trixie insisted.

"Just like your mother," Lucifer said, chuckling.

Ten minutes later, Trixie turned off the valve, removed the needles, and unhooked all the tubing. She properly disposed of everything then pulled up another chair and sat down beside Lucifer. She laid her hand gently on his shoulder and sighed. Chloe stepped up slowly and laid her fingers against the young man's neck feeling his pulse. She sighed feeling relief wash over her. It was stronger.

"I think he's going to be fine, Trix. You and Lucifer did it." Chloe turned around and sat down on the coffee table. "Now, you have some explaining to do, young lady."

Trix lifted her head from Lucifer's shoulder and frowned. "Why am I in trouble, Mom?"

"You aren't in trouble, Monkey. You just don't seem shocked by any of this. How long have you known about Lucifer?"

"I've known since the day I met him."

"That's not possible. How could you know?"

"It's easy, Mom. He told me he was the Devil then he punished the bully I kicked."

Chloe shook her head and sat back slightly. "But you were seven."

"And when I was eight, I saw Maze's demon face. What I don't get is why it took you so long to realize it was all real? You loved all my devil drawings, but you never connected the dots."

"I…" Well, Trix had her there. "I guess it's hard to see it when you're an adult."

"I guess. How long will he be asleep?"

"If it's anything like my own situation, it should only be a few hours," Amenadiel replied, pulling up his own chair and sitting down.

"Or not," Trixie said, leaning forward slightly.

"He's younger than you, brother," Lucifer said, leaning forward as well.

Chloe twisted her body so that she was now facing the young man, and watched as his eyes blinked open revealing a pair of dark chocolate eyes. She noticed they matched his head of dark curly brown hair. He tried to move, but she quickly laid her hand on his chest stilling his movements. He took a deep breath then looked at her, then Lucifer and visibly paled even more. He slowly sat up shaking his head.

Chloe frowned as she watched him. "Who are you?"

"I shouldn't tell you," he said, rubbing his face with his hand.

"Why not?"

"Because it could change the future in very bad ways."

"Are you telling us you're from the future? That's so cool." Trixie smiled from ear to ear.

"Not as cool as you might think, Trix," the young man answered.

"Wait, how do you know my name?"

He froze then cleared his throat. "I heard it while I was unconscious."

"He's lying," Lucifer said.

"I know he is," Chloe replied. "Who are you, and I want the truth this time."

He leaned his head back against the armrest of the couch, shutting his eyes. He released another sigh as he lifted his head and opened his eyes. "Fine. My name is Lucas Morningstar. I'm your son."

"What?" Chloe felt her heart hammering in her chest. "I don't think I heard you correctly."

"I'm your son. Or I will be after I'm born."

"And Lucifer's your father?"

"Yes," Lucas replied, nodding his head.

"This is utterly ridiculous. Angels can't procreate."

"And what do you call Charlie, brother?"

"You had fallen when you got Linda pregnant. He's mortal."

"All I know is what Uncle Amenadiel and Aunt Linda told me when I was old enough to understand."

"Me? Why didn't Luci and Chloe raise you?"

"They died when we turned two."

"Wait…we? How many siblings do you have?"

Chloe gave Lucifer a stern look. Clearly, he didn't hear the part about the two of them dying. "That isn't important right now, Lucifer."

"It's okay, Mom. I've probably already destroyed my future anyway. I have a twin sister named Rory."

"Rory…is that short for Aurora?"

"Yeah," Lucas answered, giving her a small smile.

"Oh, my God," Chloe said, covering her mouth with her hands.

"What's wrong, Detective?"

"He's telling the truth, Lucifer. He's our son."

"How can you be sure, Chloe?"

"It's because of his sister's name, Amenadiel. I've never told anyone this before, but if I ever had another daughter, I was going to name her Aurora."

Lucas smiled then that smile turned into a frown. "Mom, I know…well, no I don't know that look. I've heard about that look, and no, I can't tell you how you and Dad die. I don't know what will happen. Uncle Amenadiel would never tell me. I assume it was Vandal Savage who killed you both since he kidnapped Rory."

"Rory gets kidnapped?" Chloe's brain hurt from all of this new information flooding into it.

"Bollocks," Lucas groaned.

"Lucas Morningstar, language," Chloe, Amenadiel, and Lucifer all said in unison while Trixie snicked to herself.

Lucas raised his eyebrows then cleared his throat. "Sorry, it just came out. Well, since the cat is out of the preverbal bag, I should start at the beginning. Rory and I are or were or will be born in April of 2022."

"Wait, are you saying you won't be born now?"

"I don't know, Mom. My being here changes all of our futures. What's the year by the way?"

Lucifer scoffed, drawing her attention away from Lucas. "Shouldn't you know that, young man? You did time travel here."

"I did, but time travel isn't my angelic ability. It's not supposed to be Rory's either. That should go to Charlie, but she created this portal with her self actualizing ability. So, maybe I can figure out a way to get back home. Assuming I have a home to go back to. It doesn't matter right now, but me knowing the year is." Lucas's chocolate brown eyes shifted slowly toward each of them.

"It's January 27, 2020," Trixie answered.

"Oh, thank…well you, he's still alive," Lucas said, waving his hand in the air between Lucifer and Amenadiel.

"Who's still alive? You aren't making any sense, Lucas," Chloe said.

"I know I'm not, Mom. I'm sorry. I was hoping I tumbled far enough into the past to save him." Lucas lifted his hand when she opened her mouth. "I'll explain in just a minute, Mom," he said, glancing down as Chloe's cell phone rang. "That'll be Dan."

Chloe frowned, pulling her phone free from her pocket. She glanced at the caller ID and her frown deepened. "Hey, Dan, what's up? Yeah, I got it. We'll get there as soon as we can." She ended the call focusing her eyes on Lucas. "You need to tell us what the hell is going on right now, Lucas."

"Okay, the case Dan just called you about deals with Jonathan Donnally. He was a tech in the medical examiner's office. He was killed by a group of French Mercenaries who are led by a man named Vincent Le Mec. They were hired by Uncle Michael."

"Why would Michael hire mortals?"

"Because he's looking for Uncle Amenadiel's necklace, Dad. The same necklace he left on Caleb's body after he was murdered."

"What? Why would Michael even want my necklace?"

"He has Aunt Azrael's blade, Uncle Amenadiel."

"Luci, didn't you get rid of Azrael's blade?"

"I did. I tossed it into Mum's Universe, but I also just asked Gabriel to deliver a message to Mum."

"And when our sister came back, she brought the blade with her. Which means…"

"She's also working with Michael."

"Okay, let's get back on target," Chloe said, interrupting the brothers.

"Mom, you can't allow Dan to work this case. I don't care what you have to do. Send him on a wild goose chase in Florida or something. Just get him out of Los Angeles for a while."

"Why?" Chloe slid her hand into Trixie's hand and gently pulled her over to the coffee table. She wrapped her arm around her waist once she sat down beside her.

"Because he's going to be killed by Le Mec if he works this case. And I needed to try to save his life for Trix. I lost one father, but when you and Dad are killed she loses two in the span of four years."

Chloe tightened her hold on Trixie hearing the sob that escaped her mouth. "We'll change your Dad's fate, Monkey. I promise. Go on with your story, Lucas."

Lucas nodded his head, licking his dry lips. "I come from 2070. Savage brainwashed Rory into hating all of us as he raised her. She was determined to take the throne of Heaven from Uncle Amenadiel, and a war broke out. I end up fighting my own sister, and she gets a lucky strike with a demon blade," he said, running his hand over his stomach. "Anyway, she starts to self actualize herself into the past, but I take her place."

"How?"

"I pushed her out of her portal, Dad and stepped into it myself. I assume she was only coming far enough into the past to kill you after we were conceived of course."

"Why would she want to kill Lucifer?"

"She wanted to change me, Mom. To make me hate Dad just as much as she does. I don't think Savage treated her very well. That's why her wings are red instead of white. She must have killed Savage, and his blood changed the color of her wings. That one act also gave her a devil face."

"So, instead of coming back to try and save Mom and Lucifer, she was going to kill him?"

"Yes, I believe so, Trix," Lucas said, softly.

"But you being here changes that, right?"

"I hope so, Trix," Lucas said, stretching out his hand toward Trixie.

"Okay, then our first step is to get Dan out of town. Trix, I'm pulling you from school, and Dan's taking you on a vacation. Lucifer…" Chloe glanced over at him.

"I have it covered, Detect…Chloe. Cost isn't an issue. You tell me where they're going, and it'll be taken care of."

"Thank you," she said, then turned back toward Lucas. "Is there anything else you've left out?"

"Just one thing," Lucas said, glancing at the still open door, a smile spreading across his lips. "Hello, Aunt Remi, I wondered how long it'd take you to sense my presence."

Chloe looked over at the door as Remi stepped inside. "I sensed a new Celestial on Earth, but you aren't a child."

"No, I'm not, Lucas answered, squeezing Trixie's hand. "But you need to be careful. Uncle Michael is smarter than you think. He's going to kill you in eleven days to stop you from telling Mom and Dad what you've discovered."

"How do you know this?" Remi shifted her spear in her hands as she stepped closer toward the couch.

Amenadiel rose to his feet grabbing the spear, stopping Remi's forward motion. "He's from the future, Remi. He's here to help us at a great cost to himself. Please heed his words, sister. Stay away from Michael until this is all over."

Remi's dark eyes lift up toward Amenadiel. "Where would you have me go, brother?"

"You can go with Dan and the Urchin," Lucifer said, glancing up. "If you are all together, the safer you'll be. Itherael, get your grey cloaked arse down here." Lucifer rose to his feet placing a gentle hand on Trixie's shoulder then glanced over at the door. "Finally, after millenia you answer my call, brother."

"What do you want with me, Ambriel Samael?"

"I don't go by that name, Itherael," Lucifer growled.

"And I was not speaking to you, brother. I was speaking to her," Itherael said, nodding toward Trixie.

"Me…why? I didn't call you. Lucifer did," Trixie said, rising to her feet to stand beside Lucifer still holding Lucas's hand.

"He did, but it is you that I am responding to, Ambriel Samael. What do you wish from me, young one?"

"I don't want to lose anyone. Not yet at least," Trixie said, her voice cracking with emotion.

Chloe rose to her feet wrapping her arm around her daughter. "Trix, death is a part of life. None of us are ready to die."

"I know, Mom. But I'm not ready to be all alone in this world. According to Lucas, I will lose my entire family in four years. I'll be sixteen years old, Mom. I assume he's the Angel of Fate, so he can change it."

"I am, but I cannot change the fate of your family, Ambriel Samael. Only the choices they make can change what is to be. I am the keeper and recorder of the Scroll of Fate. Nothing more," Itherael said, sadly. "I am sorry, Ambriel Samael."

"Itherael, why are you bloody calling her that? Her name is Beatrice," Lucifer growled again.

"Yes, that is the name given to her by her mother, but Ambriel is the name given to her by her father when he conceived her."

"What are you talking about, Itherael?" Lucifer glanced down at her and Trixie before looking back at his brother.

"Have you not worked it out yet, brother? Beatrice Espinoza is your daughter."
