Deceit
"Now, remember to not speak to the Empress unless she asks you a direct question," Geoff stated in a very serious tone to his daughter.
"Yes, Father."
The father and daughter entered the meeting hall to find Jaira already sitting on her throne, waiting for them.
"It seems you have decided to finally grace me with your presence, Geoff," Jaira scowled.
"The Empress does not appreciate tardiness," Darth Xaeven stated from his place at her side.
"May I do the honours, Empress?" Zromkiar asked from his seat on the steps that lead up to the raised platform which Jaira's throne sat upon. He looked hungry for a little amusement and lopping off someone's head with his lightsaber sounded perfect to him.
"Now, now Zromkiar. Behave yourself," Jaira said firmly, "Geoff is crucial for my plans to be a success," she added.
"Very well," Zromkiar muttered in boredom as he lied down on his back, waiting for the meeting to be over.
Geoff knelt on one knee at the bottom of the raised platform with his daughter following closely in behaviour, "Empress, this is my daughter."
"Ahh very good," Jaira said lightly as she rose from her throne and approached the young lady, "Rise child," Jaira ordered.
Geoff's daughter rose slowly but gracefully to her feet and respectfully avoided eye contact with the Empress.
"I have a very important job for you," Jaira stated clearly, "It is your job to ensure that the Republic Galactic Senate and Jedi Order do not find out that the allegiance of your homeworld has changed. That is absolutely crucial as I need you to be my eyes and ears inside the Senate."
Jaira stopped circling the young lady and came to a stop in front of her, "Can you do that?" she asked in a serious tone.
"Yes, my Lord."
"Very good," Jaira stated and then she turned away and walked back to her throne, "You are dismissed my dear," she added, and the Senator left the hall at a graceful pace as her mother had taught her.
Geoff glanced up at Jaira curiously from his position, waiting to be addressed.
"You will be joining me on a trip to Csilla, Geoff. I leave in an hour," Jaira said simply and then as Geoff left the hall she called out, "Oh and be sure not to keep me waiting."
Zromkiar looked up at the Empress from his place on the steps, "If I may ask Empress, what are your plans on Csilla?" he asked innocently.
"I plan to make a treaty with the Chiss Ascendency," Jaira answered.
Zromkiar scoffed, "We don't need those aliens."
"On the contrary, I believe they would make perfect allies, they will be able to get us weapons and I have a proposal for them in regard to their Force-sensitives," Jaira stated confidently.
"I am not sure that I understand, my Lord," Zromkiar said quietly, quirking a single arched eyebrow.
"The Chiss see Force sensitivity as an impurity and all who are born with the gift are killed straight after birth," Jaira explained.
"So, you plan to add them to the members of the Force Born?" Zromkiar asked, horrified at the idea.
Jaira laughed, "No, of course not. They will be trained to be specialised Imperial Secret Intelligence Service Agents where they use their gifts in the Force to be more successful on tasks and missions," she added more explanation.
Zromkiar nodded in understanding, "And that is why you are taking Geoff with you?"
Jaira nodded in reply and then asked him to go back to his duties so that she could speak to Darth Xaeven privately.
A week later, Supreme Chancellor Organa and Senator Padme Amidala stood on the platform together waiting patiently for the expected arrival of the new Senator of Lothal. After the death of the previous Senator, her daughter had taken the role over from her mother and she was arriving on Coruscant shortly to attend her first Republic Senate vote as the Senator for her homeworld. It was crucial for the treaty between the Republic and Lothal to continue to be as strong as it had been in the past. At that moment, the starskiff landed on the platform as Bail and Padme approached the ramp which was slowly lowered, and the arriving party walked down the ramp.
"Senator, it is nice to see you again," Supreme Chancellor Organa greeted the young lady warmly, "I am sorry to hear about your mother, she will be deeply missed by the Republic Senate."
The young lady nodded her head graciously, "Thank you Supreme Chancellor but if I could be so bold to ask, please call me Cyrinity," Cyrinity said quietly, "I am still getting used to the whole Senator title."
Bail nodded and then turned slightly to his left, "This is Senator Padme Amidala of Naboo," he introduced.
"We have never officially met but I was good friends with your mother when we were young," Padme greeted, "It is wonderful to meet you Cyrinity."
"Now if you will follow me, we should be off to the Galactic Senate otherwise we will be late for the vote," Bail said as he lead the way towards the escort of guarded speeders that were waiting to take them to the Galactic Senate building.
A/N: I wanted to see what you guys thought of Bail Organa being made Supreme Chancellor in my series? I personally think that next to Padme he is a great choice. I chose against making Padme Supreme Chancellor because I personally think she is too humble to take such an important role. This thought had come to my mind particularly when regarding how she told the story of her not wanting to overstay her welcome as Queen and then was surprised when the following Queen insisted that she represent Naboo in the Galactic Senate as a Senator. I think staying a Senator suites her a lot.
