The next day when Izuku woke up he could barely stay still, which had apparently become a problem due to his badly conscious self stumbling into the common kitchen bumping into most of the walls unable to calm down his jumpiness which in the long run ended up with Uraraka making him float till he calmed down enough to be able to ear his breakfast, get dressed and be out the door without cousin more bruises to himself or others. The class was confused as to why their residents cinnamon roll was acting wired but ended up letting it slide, this was Midoriya what else were they expecting? Normality?
Class dragged on painfully slow for Izuku till lunch brake, oh yeah lunch break dragged on exceptionally slow as though the whole room had been put into slow motion and Izuku was the only one not slowed down watching ,board, as time ticked by. Once lunch was over and the bell rang the exited jitters were back vibrating through Izuku as he walked along side the self proclaimed 'Dekusquad' to the long awaited English class.
Izuku walked through the door and practically printed to his seat pulling his things out haphazardly and chucking them onto his desk them sitting down with a derpy, exited grin plastered on his freckled face.
"Alright class settle down I'm going to start my handing out the tests then well correct them and if we have time we'll start a new chapter of our book, k?" Present Mic boomed from were he was standing on the podium. The class nodded in unison Izuku nodding so fast and excitedly his head could have fallen off and Mina so sluggishly she might as well be asleep, yeah English was not her strong suit and she for one didn't have a mass murderer to help her.
Present Mic walked through the rows of desks handing out each test paper to the corresponding student and adding a Small comment here and their to certain students. When he got to Izuku he gave him his paper with a large beaming smile and said tone barely over a whisper, surprisingly for him "I don't know what you did to study but it worked and that presentation was amazing keep doing whatever it was you did 'cause it works and your grades will shoot up if you do!" The teacher spoke so fast and so uncharacteristically quietly that Izuku barely caught all he said but what he did catch made him laugh nervously and whisper a quiet thank you as Present Mic moved on. Izuku closed his eyes, his hand holding his backside-up paper, took a deep breath, counted to three and on three flipped the paper to expose his grade: a blaring 98% scribbled on in bright red stared him in the face dating him to question his own skills. He was ecstatic as he flipped through the written portion of the test where he only got a couple questions wrong.. After quickly skim over the written part he directly flipped over to the comments on his presentation only to be surprised with a whole paragraph of Mic basically fishing over his new found skills. He was on cloud 9 fort he rest of the day with no intention of getting off the high the accomplishment Bought him.
It was 1 am and Izuku was staring at the test paper that he held in a white knuckle grip like a life line. He did it, he did it and he had a hod damn villain to thank-wait. He had a villain to thank, he needed to go thank Dabi! He got up in one sudden movement and went straight for the window and jumping out of it purely on impulse till he reached the bottom and realized he had absolutely no clue where to find the scared man. How was one supposed to find a villain that had hidden for the police and heroes countless times, the answer was simple really, they don't but Izuku was too stubborn to take no for an answer so instead of dumping there or going back to the dorms he headed off wondering mindlessly much like the other night he had found Dabi in the hopes of finding the man once again.
He wondered for about half an hour before he stopped somewhere that seemed eerily familiar. After a few shirts minutes if staring at the environment around him it finally clicked in the young boy's mind; he was back at the park he had first talked with Dabi. Form there he didn't know what to do so instead of wondering about any more he just sat on the bench he had been in last night and waited in hopes Dabi would show unlike last time. Apparently luck was on his side that day and Dabi came walking by about twenty minutes after Izuku had sat down. Recognizing the unmistakable mop of green hair the raven haired man sat on the bench and said "how'd it go?". This time Izuku had been such more spaciously aware and had noticed Dabi almost instantly so he answered almost vibrating in his seat "it went great the written part was really easy and honestly has always been b-but then it was the presentation and I was talking and they were almost staring and they all had their jaws wide open and they looked really impressed and Pressed Mic wrote in my paper that hr thought I did great and that have a lot of potential when it comes to languages and he thinks that I'll be great for missions in other countries-" he rambled before being interrupted "wow wow wow, hold up kid you're rambling" Dabi chuckled before continuing "did you have your paper with you?" Izuku nodded frantically face still flushed at being caught rambling."here" he sad handing the villain beside him his folded test paper he had stuffed in his pants pocket an hour and a half prior.
Dabi examined the paper intently looking over the written part with curiosity having not known what it was since Izuku had not needed help with it, once he had scrutinized the written portion he flipped a page over to the part Izuku was buzzing with excitement on the bench about; the presentation part. Obviously he couldn't hear Izuku presentation but he had been there practicing with the kid beside him for hours the night before and remembered precisely what Present Mic was going on about in a rather big paragraph and in all honesty he agreed with the obnoxious teacher. Dabi smiled one of his rare non-murderous smiles at Izuku " you did great apparently" he said in a warm tone that almost invites Izuku to hug him and Izuku was not one to refuse an offer so without warning he jumped onto his supposed enemy and wrapped his into a warm intoxicating laugh that Dabi reciprocated a little awkwardly. "Thank you so so so so much" mumbled the green haired boy voice muffler in the elder's shoulder. The hug lasted for a few more long seconds of silent comfort till Izuku pulled away and said "we should do this again!" It was plain and simple but it left Dabi to just stare in astonishment at the guys this kid had, but after a second that stretched on longer than it should have he relaxed his gaze and nodded in understanding. "Just one thing" he said before they parted ways " don't go easy on me on the battle field 'cause I won't" Izuku just smirked "you wish!"
