Empty streets, the street lamps haven't been lit casting a hazy darkness over Salem. The only thing keeping it from being pitch black was the faint moonlight and windows flickering from candle light; these small amounts of light were dissipating through a thick, suffocating blanket of fog and miasma.
The Doctor had failed, the town had been swallowed by fear from a threat they could not see. The Doctor tried everything to cure the sickness, she performed a myriad of experiments on the townies but nothing worked.
Then she made a horrifying realisation: she enjoyed seeing the towns people in pain, she loved to see them gasp weakly for air as they cough and abscesses form on their skin - leaking pus.
This infatuation with suffering and death consumed what few morals she had left; she stopped being the lovable town Doctor who wanted the best for her 'patients' in favour of spreading the plague that struck terror into the hearts of everyone. Everyone except her...
She had become the embodiment of Pestilence! The Plaguebearer!
Once Salem succumbs the Plaguebearer will move to the next town, and the next, destroying all life in her path, not stopping until Pestilence consumes all.
