Chapter 8 Leaf in the Wind

Sean slowly woke up with a groan as he found himself in his room on Air Temple island with Korra right next to him.

Thats when he heard Bastila whining making him smile as he got out of bed before picking her up as she calmed down.

"Did you just want me honey?" Sean asked making her giggle as he sat back down.

"She's always wanting your attention the most." Korra said sitting up and held her as she cooed at her mother making them smile.

Soon the family was downstairs getting something to eat.

"Here we you go." Oola said giving Junior his food who giggled.

While Oola was feeding Junior Korra was looking at the holo news.

"And in the final round, the Buzzard-Wasps won with a decisive knockout. Huh. Maybe we should check out the Pro Bending games." Korra said holding Bastila who cooed.

"That sport is a mockery of the noble tradition of bending." Tenzin said.

"Hardly." Sean said.

"Oh, come on Tenzin. Things change. Besides saying thats a mockery is like saying what the fire nation did was a good thing during the hundred year war. Thats a mockery." Korra said.

"I suppose. But your not here to watch that nonsense. Your here to finish your Avatar training." Tenzin said.

"I just need you to help me with my spiritual training. And besides we had fun back on Coruscant." Korra said.

"Tenzin, you just need to help her. Not give her a full course." Sean said making him sigh.

"I suppose. But I do want you on the island most of the time." Tenzin said.

"Is that why you're keeping the White Lotus sentries around to watch my every move?" Korra asked seeing them.

"That and to make sure Lin doesn't pull anything. My trust in her has diminished since that stunt a couple days ago." Tenzin said.

"Can't argue with that." Sean said.

Soon the group was heading outside.

"So Master Yoda told me you've been able to Airbend for the last 7 years now?" Tenzin asked.

"Yeah. I had a block because it was the exact opposite of me. I finally managed to do it during his training." Korra said.

"Thats not unexpected. Often the Element thats the most difficult for any Avatar is the one opposite to the Avatar's personality. For my Father it was Earth bending." Tenzin said as they arrived at some training exercise.

"What in the world is that?" Korra asked.

"A time-honored tool that teaches the most fundament aspect of airbending. Jinora, would you like to explain this exercise?" Tenzin asked his oldest.

"The goal is to weave your way through the gates and make it to the other side without touching them." Jinora said.

"Seems easy enough." Korra said.

"Jinora forgot to mention you have to make it through while the gates are spinning." Ikki said before Tenzin airbended them before tossing in a leaf.

"The key is to be like the Leaf. Flow with movement of the gates." Tenzin said as the leaf made it to the other side. "Jinora will demonstrate." Tenzin said as she went in. "Airbending is all about spiral movements. When you meet resistance, you must be able to switch direction at a moment's notice." Tenzin said as she made it through flawlessly before blowing wind back into it.

"Easy." Korra said going in and did so perfectly surprising Tenzin and his youngest children.

"How? It takes time to learn this." Tenzin said baffled making them smirk.

"I think your underestimating Jedi training." Sean said.

Later

Sean and Korra were outside looking at the stars with the kids.

"I remember when we were kids we would look at the stars at night before Yoda and the others showed up." Korra said as Bastila snored lightly making them smile.

"Yeah. Funny how things work out as time goes by." Sean said.

Thats when they heard the holonet on the Pro bending games making Sean smirk.

"Hold on." Sean said grabbing them and jumped off to where it was heard right above the White Lotus.

"Not exactly what I had in mind but it works." Korra said as they listened in.

A while into the game it sounded like things were getting very interesting.

Only for it to shut off.

"What!"

"Hey!"

"Three, two, one." Sean counted.

"Get down here both of you." Tenzin said as they jumped down.

"What was that for?" Sean asked.

"I told you before. I don't want you listening to this distracting nonsense." Tenzin said.

"Tenzin, you can't just expect her to only train. Your father didn't." Sean said.

"He was a child." Tenzin said.

"Who was in the middle of a hundred year war." Sean said making him sigh knowing he couldn't argue that.

"Tenzin, I'm the Avatar, A mother and a Jedi. Even I need to relax every now and then or I'd drop from exhaustion." Korra said as he left. "He is so stubborn. I hope Jinora isn't like that when she gets older." Korra said.

Next day

Sean and Korra were in the middle of a Meditation session.

"Hey." Anakin said surprising them before they saw him and Padme who was now the Senator for Naboo.

"Anakin? What are you doing here?" Sean asked as they stood up.

"I got attacked by some Bounty hunter a couple days ago. The Jedi Council and Your father felt it was best I stay here until this was resolved." Padme said.

"Why would someone attack you? Can't be Gunray. He was sentenced to life in prison after his Trade Franchise was destroyed because of the Invasion 10 years ago." Korra said.

"No but there might be another within the Trade Federation using old resources to hire this Bounty Hunter." Padme said.

"I guess that makes sense. Just stay clear of Lin Beifong." Sean said.

"Beifong?" Anakin asked knowing the name.

"She's Suyin's older sister who views the Jedi as nothing but vigilantes." Sean said making him scoff.

"How are we Vigilantes if the Republic and the Legion ask us for help all the time?" Anakin asked.

"Thats what I said." Sean said.

"She just doesn't care." Korra said before the two walked off to set up their rooms.

"You know why don't we go out tonight to get some fresh air. Say the Bending arena." Sean said making her smile.

"Yeah." Korra said.

Later

Sean and Korra walked into the Bending arena leaving the kids with Venelana and Oola.

"Nice having Jedi clearance for these things." Korra said as they walked around the place before arriving in the Gym.

"I think we walked into the wrong room." Sean said.

"Hey!"

Both turned to see an old man walking to them.

"What do you two think you're doing in here?"

"Sorry, we got lost since it's our first time being here." Korra said.

"Oh like I'm gonna believe that from some punks. I'm taking you to security!"

Sean pulled out his lightsaber shocking him.

"Your Jedi. I hate you stupid fuckers! You ruin everything!"

"Arrogant mother..." Sean tried to say.

"There you two are."

Both turned to see clearly a contender walking to them.

"I've been looking everywhere for you guys. It's all right, Toza. These two are with me."

Toza just scoffed.

"Whatever. Stupid Jedi." Toza said doing his exercises.

"Sorry about him. He's not what you call a people person. Names Bolin by the way." Bolin said.

"We heard about you on the Radio last night." Korra said before he lead them away to the arena.

"What do you think? Best seats in the house, Huh?" Bolin asked.

"Wow. Being here is better than listening to it." Sean said.

"This place is even more amazing than I imagined." Korra said as two people walked in.

"Psst. Bolin."

"Yeah, Mako?" Bolin asked his brother.

"I told you to stop bringing your crazy fans here. Get them out of here." Mako said.

"Oh come on, Mako. Look, I kind promised them they could stay. But I got a good feeling about her. Theres something special about her." Bolin said before rushing to Korra. "Come here, I want you to meet my brother Mako." Bolin said as Mako got geared up.

"Mako? Wow, I heard you play on the Radio last night." Korra said excited.

"Come on, Bolin, We're up." Mako said walking past her.

"And Toza is not the only asshole." Korra said making Sean snort.

"Yeah, Sorry about that. My brother. just gets real focused before a match. Okay, I gotta go." Bolin said getting his gear on. "Wish me luck. Not that I'll need it." Bolin said making her giggle as they entered the arena.

"Good Luck. Knock them out!" Korra said.

In only a few short moments the Fire Ferrets won their match against their opponents.

"WHOO HOO!" Korra cheered while Sean chuckled.

"Not bad." Sean said before Bolin jumped up and cheered.

"YES! One more win and we're in the championship. So...What'd you think?" Bolin asked.

"What did I think? That was amazing." Korra said impressed before seeing their water bending teammate threw his gear.

"Useless." Mako said.

"That was really impressive there mister Hat trick." Korra said.

"Your still here?" Mako asked making her growl.

"Oh, you're still a bastard?" Korra asked making Sean chuckle.

"Ouch." Sean said.

"Anyway. I've been training my whole life but I've never seen that. Think you can teach me?" Korra asked.

"Absolutely...But I'm not sure how to show you how to be a better earth bender since your a Water bender."

"Not a problem. I'm an Earthbender." Korra said making Sean snort.

"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to assume I just guessed based on your blue robes." Bolin said.

"Oh no. I'm a Water bender and a Fire bender and an Air bender." Korra said while Bolin just blinked before scratching his head.

"I'm very confused." Bolin said.

"Your the Avatar...And I'm an idiot." Mako said.

"Oh so true." Sean said

"Both are true." Korra said shocking Bolin.

Later

After meeting Mako and Bolin Sean and Korra decided to head home before Korra used the restroom.

Sighing she washed her hands before someone walked in.

"You don't belong here." Lin said making her appearance known as Korra sighed.

"What do you want now?" Korra asked.

"You and Those Jedi don't belong in Republic City. All you are is nothing more than Vigilantes." Lin said.

"We are not Vigilantes. We're peace keepers of the Legion and the Republic before that. If we were why hasn't anyone arrested us?" Korra asked.

"Because people are afraid of your power. I'm not. And make no mistake. I'm gonna put you all down. And if that brats of yours are Force sensitive...They will be too." Lin said before Korra Airbended her into a wall shocking her before Korra started airbending around her head cutting off the flow of oxygen as she gasped in shock.

"You ever make a threat like that again...And I'll kill you." Korra said stopping as Lin gasped for air while Korra left.

Next morning

Korra was having trouble with the Airbending exercise this time around as she was getting hit.

"I don't understand she did it so perfectly last time." Tenzin said.

Thats when Korra lost control and started firebending the thing till it blew up shocking him and his youngest as Korra panted.

"That was a 2,000 year old historical treasure." Tenzin said in shock. "What...WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Tenzin yelled.

"Sorry...I'm just in a really pissed off mood." Korra said.

"What about? Not about me I hope." Tenzin said.

"No. Lin. Sean and I went out last night and she threatened to put down every Jedi she could including my kids." Korra said making him narrow his eyes.

"What?" Tenzin asked.

"Yeah. She is so certain we're nothing but criminals she wants all put down. Including Jinora I bet." Korra said.

"Does she hate Jedi that much? They help keep the peace. They're not criminals." Padme said.

"Although to be fair though there have been Jedi who became Sith who became criminals." Anakin said before Tenzin left.

"Oh boy." Sean said.

Lin was in her office going over some reports before the doors were blown down.

"NOW YOU'VE CROSSED THE LINE!" Tenzin roared shocking her.

"Tenzin, I am telling you the Jedi are nothing but Vigilantes. They need to be removed and put down." Lin said before he grabbed her hard shocking her.

"DOES THAT INCLUDE MY DAUGHTER!" Tenzin roared shocking her.

"What?" Lin asked.

"Clearly since you're so selfish you didn't know she's a Jedi. I know the Jedi. Their peace keepers! By order of the Republic and Legion! Why else do you think no one goes after them if they were as you claimed!" Tenzin yelled.

"I...I didn't know that. But they are criminals. Think about all the wars that have been started because of them." Lin said.

"Those are the Sith who fell to darkness. Not the same thing! If you make so much as a vocal threat against them I will have you suspended. AM I UNDERSTOOD!" Tenzin roared.

"Fine." Lin said as he left while she glared. "Idiot." Lin said.

Later

Sean and Korra arrived at the Pro Bending Arena before seeing Mako and Bolin depressed.

"Whats with the looks?" Sean asked.

"You guys look like you lost already." Korra said.

"Hasook hasn't shown up and we think he just quit." Bolin said.

"I knew we couldn't trust that guy." Mako said before the Ref came out and told them to get ready.

"So what happens now?" Sean asked.

"We'll be disqualified. And we won't be able to participate in the tournament. And we won't win the grand prize." Mako said.

"Can't you ask someone from the other teams to fill in?" Korra asked.

"It doesn't work that way. You can only participate for one team only. It's how they make things fair incase the other team loses." Bolin said.

"Oh." Sean said.

"Well, What about me? I'm a top notch Water Bender trained by the Jedi." Korra said.

"But you're the Avatar. Isn't that cheating?" Bolin asked.

"It's not cheating if she only uses water. Besides wouldn't you rather lose in the Arena than be disqualified?" Sean asked.

"Well...Fine. I guess we got nothing to lose to be honest." Mako said.

Meanwhile

Anakin and Padme were looking over some old data Sean made based on new Cruiser designs.

"I still don't like you guys are training soldiers and making weapons." Padme said. (The only thing I don't like about her is she's way too optimistic of the Future thinking the Republic never needed troops or weapons to defend themselves)

"Padme you weren't there when they attacked us five years ago. They just busted in and killed several Jedi. Nova included." Anakin said.

"I know but maybe you could at least negotiate a truce." Padme said.

"I think Sean would agree with me and say we're way placed diplomacy. Besides don't take this the wrong way. Ideals are peaceful. History on the other hand is violent. People have tried to be peaceful to solve problems without violence before hand. It's just not that simple." Anakin said making her smile.

"You've really changed." Padme said.

"Yeah, well Sean's a good friend and Mentor." Anakin said as Tenzin walked to them.

"Have either of you seen Sean or Korra? The Twins are here but not them." Tenzin said.

"I think they said they were going to the bending arena to watch some friends they made." Padme said making him sigh before he left.

Meanwhile

Sean watched in amusement as Korra learning the rules quickly and did so professionally.

"I thought I told you two not to come here." Tenzin said walking to him.

"Oh relax. Besides we made some new friends here. Do you remember why Aang left the Air nation?" Sean asked.

"I know. The Elders pushed him too hard and quick because they knew War was on the horizon and forgot he was still a boy and like all boys he needed friends. They took that away from him unintentionally which ended up being both their doom and the reason he escaped in time." Tenzin said.

"My point exactly. You don't want history to repeat itself. The Elders had good reason for pushing him but they did it too soon because of their fears. Rightfully placed but went about it all wrong. They should have kept his status a secret until the time was right and trained him secretly. Korra and I were surrounded by people closer to our age and so on which prevented history from repeating. And she was more eager." Sean said.

"True. Perhaps I do need to realize she does need a life outside her duties. So much has changed in the last 13 years. New Technology, New species and new alliances. It's much to take in, in such a dangerous time." Tenzin said before Korra won the game making Tenzin cheer before composing himself while Sean laughed.

Later

Korra smiled as she placed her daughter in her crib.

"You ok?" Sean asked.

"Yeah, Just worried if Lin does try something. She puts me on edge since her threat pissed me off real bad." Korra said.

"I know. But she knows she can't just do whatever she wants or she'll lose everything." Sean said as they got in bed.

"Well, Let's just hope things get better." Korra said as they went to sleep.

Meanwhile

Lin was going over everything regarding the Jedi and the Wars that were started because of them and Sith.

"I don't care what Tenzin says. Every last one of you are nothing but criminals. And your all going down." Lin said.

Authors Note: And now Korra is part of the Pro Bending leagues again. And now Anakin and Padme are here. Now, I know some people are asking why am I always making Lin worse than she was in the show. Her whole personality just sets her up for all of this I don't actually hate her. She didn't get better till AFTER the Final rounds of Pro Bending. So this will probably be a constant. Not my fault she sets herself up for this every time because of how she was in the beginning. Read, Review, Fav and Follow. REVIEW MY LOYAL FANS! SEE YA!
