Lexi rose from the ground outside the Mystic Grill. She looked around her and saw Stefan and Elena huddled in a hidden corner in the alley. Lexi walked up to them and spoke,

"Stefan?"

"Welcome to the Other side! You must be Lexi Branson!" A sarcastic voice interrupted her, causing Lexi to spin around in confusion.

"Katherine?" She asked, as she looked at the figure before her.

"No. Nooo. I'm not… I'm Lex Lucifer Gilbert. Elena's twin. They/them pronouns."

"What?" Lexi asked, bemused.

"Anyway… You're dead. Oh. Shit. Don't cry." Lex looked at the figure before them, Lexi's mouth open in shock. "Uhhh. That was a bit blunt, sorry. This is the Other Side. We can see everyone in the 'mortal' plane but… they can't see us."

"What?"

"Take a seat. It's a long story…"

Trevor rose from the floor in the abandoned house, his head reattached.

"Hi! I have a bone to pick with you!" A voice stated from behind him. Trevor spun around and gasped.

"Katerina?" He whispered, reaching a hand out to caress the figure's face. The figure's eyes glowed with fury and a smirk plastered itself on their face.

"Move your mangy hand away from me! I'm Lex, another doppelgänger. And while I understand your reason for kidnapping my sister… YOU. KIDNAPPED. MY. SISTER!" Lex stated icily, pushing Trevor with every word.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Trevor pleaded and Lex readily stopped.

"Alright. To find the promise land, just take the … First left, second right, third on the left, go straight ahead, under the stairs, past the bins, it's the fifth door on your left."

"Huh?" Trevor asked, slightly confused.

"It's the first… I'll just write it down." Lex shook their head in response before waving him away.

"Jen- Jenna?" Lex trembled as they stumbled into their aunt's arms.

"Lex…" Jenna whispered in response, running a hand through Lex's short hair.

"I'm… I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry." Lex sobbed as they hugged. Tears streamed down their faces.

"Kid… It wasn't your fault. None of this was your fault." Jenna comforted, leaning back and looking Lex in the eye.

"…But you weren't meant to die! Nor Elena! It… It was supposed to be me!" Lex tried to explain before hitting their head in frustration.

"Hey…Hey… Stop it. Stop it." Jenna soothed, gently moving Lex's hands away. "Look. You're going to be okay. Lexi will look after you."

"But… But what about you?" Lex asked, after glancing at Lexi, who was leaning on a tree nearby.

"I found peace. I'm going to see Miranda and Grayson again. Even Mason." Jenna explained, wiping the tears on Lex's cheek before her own.

"I'll take good care of her here, Jenna." Lexi spoke up from her place and walked towards the crumbled figure of Lex. Jenna smiled and walked towards the white light that had steady been building up nearby. With a final goodbye, Jenna was gone.

"Goodbye Jenna." Lex whispered solemnly before deeply inhaling. Lex plastered a smile on their face and walked towards Lexi. "Let's see them."

"Whoa! Whoa! Lex! What's happening?!" Lexi yelled as they saw other ghosts leave the Other Side.

"I don't know! Why would I know?!" Lex shouted as the two began to phase in and out. "I… I think someone opened a sort of portal back to the mortal plane!"

"Why do you keep calling it that?!"

"It's sounds cooler!" The two laughed before seeing Stefan walking away.

"Lexi!" Stefan called out, after her sudden appearance.

"Hi." Lexi smiled in response, Lex leaning on the side.

"You're dead." Stefan stated, trying to comprehend what was happening.

"Well, technically, so are you." Lexi and Lex answered in unison. Stefan finally seeing the other figure.

"Lex? Elena's twin?" Stefan shook his head before getting back to the point at hand. "Then how the hell can I see..."

"See us? Yeah, we have no idea. And we have no idea how long it's going to last, so let's get right to the point. You're off the rails. Big time." Lexi stated as the two moved closer towards Stefan, Lex smirking maliciously.

"Look, I don't know how you're here, but you need to leave me alone, ok?" Stefan replied.

"Now what kind of a friend would I be if I didn't help you out of this mess, you're in?" Lexi asked rhetorically.

"I don't want your help." Stefan said stubbornly.

"You know, you say that every time. 'I don't want your help, I don't want to get better, leave me alone.'" Lexi mocked, Lex trying to hide their laughter.

"Well, maybe you should listen this time." Stefan stated before trying to walk off.

"Or maybe I should do this." Lex crashed his head against a car window, causing Stefan to fall unconscious.

"Nice."

"Thank you!"
