The season has opened for 1814, and there is little reason to hope that we will see any noticeable change from 1813… Except there just might.

Not only are the ranks of society once again filled with Ambitious Mamas, whose only aim is to see their Darling Daughters married off to Determined Bachelors, amongst whom we find none other than Viscount Bridgerton, this season's most eligible catch, and a new potential jewel who arrived from the exotic lands of India with her loving parents and a handsome half-sister, Edwina Sharma, is blessed with the looks and grace that rival even the likes of the highest breeds of London. This Author can only expect for her to find a suitable match, such as the one of our beloved Duke and Duchess of Hastings, who just welcomed their first child, a perfectly healthy boy.

But as far as Monarchy is concerned, my Dearest Reader, I have the most exclusive whispers to end today's column on the highest of notes… It appears that Our Majesty is expecting a visitor this season. As you surely remember, His Royal Highness Prince Friedrich of Prussia graced our halls with his dashing presence, attempted to court our Diamond, and went back to his lands after gracefully admitting defeat.

It now seems that his sister is set to step foot in the Town of London. Very little is known about Her Royal Highness Prinzessin Veronika, but it is noted that she has been mysteriously missing from Court, and Society in general, both British and Prussian, since the untimely death of her father, The King of Prussia, just three years ago… But rest assured, this Author will not rest until she knows the full story, as well as the reason for her sudden reappearance, and so do you.
