Thank you Rhea for your review!

I haven't seen any with this sort of situationeither so I thought it would be funto see where it could go

Also I'm sorry for not responding (or updating) earlier! Ive been without internet for a few days.

I glance around myself curiously, I'm not running this time, in fact I'm sitting calmly on the edge of the cliff I'd always jump off in my dreams, I slowly stand and look around, the dream had never changed before, a soft sound of footsteps comes from the forest behind me, turning around I can see the faintest of outlines moving toward me, I stiffen, unsure if it was an enemy 'hello...?' I call cautiously, the shadow pauses for a moment before everything goes dark...

As I start to wake up pain starts to radiate through my whole body, I groan shakily, opening my eyes to bright lights...again.

Shivering I sit up, looking around quickly, I'm back in Hell's Gate, in the infirmary, I stumble out of the bed and toward the door, my whole body felt like it was on fire, I get to the door and shove it open, Jake is standing just down the hall with Max, Max sees me first and runs over "woah! you shouldn't be up!" He nearly yells, helping me back to the bed. Jake goes to get a doctor and Grace, returning a few minutes later with both, as they enter I'm sitting back on the bed, my hands shaking in my lap, Grace comes over quickly as the doctor starts to hook me up to some machines for monitoring "what the hell happened out there?" She asks seriously, I shake my head a little "I don't know...I just remember they were escorting us into the tribes home and...I tripped and then there was just blinding pain..." I murmur, frowning more.

Jake comes over "the clans doctor said part of your queue was severed, your nervous system was going into overload so we had to remove you from the link, your Avatar may be unusable now" he says sadly, my heart sinks "what do you mean unusable? The whole queue wasn't severed was it?" I ask worriedly, he shakes his head "no, but a small bit was" he says before grace interjects "losing the queue is a death sentence for any Na'vi, sky people or real" she explains sadly "losing even a bit of your queue is dangerous at best, you wont bond with the creatures perfectly, you'll have a harder time hearing or sensing Eywa, and more, you'll most likely always be in pain from it unless the Na'vi have a way around that, however, the clan has chosen to let Jake learn from them, and to stay as one of the people for now, and he has asked that they watch over you, they have agreed but on the condition you help them around the clans home when your avatar has healed as much as it can" she says, I look to Jake in surprise then back to her "this isn't a joke?" I ask in shock, she shakes her head and smiles a little "we are however going to keep you out of the link for a little while, probably a few days, let both of your bodies rest and heal" says Grace as she grabs the monitor to see my vitals "and by the looks of it that's a good call, your entire nervous system is in freak out mode, in those links both of your bodies are deeply connected, and with your avatar body being injured that badly its caused this body to going into a panic" she says

After an hour I'm given some sleeping meds and put back to bed to rest for a few more days, Jake continues his training with the Na'vi and makes sure to check on my avatar, I stay asleep for almost two days before waking up, still really tired and out of it but I wanted to make sure my avatar was ok, I manage to get Max to let me into the link room and I sneak past Grace, jumping into my link and taking a deep breathe before going under.

I flinch in pain and whimper softly as I start to wake up, my whole body felt like I had been thrown into a fire pit, sitting up quickly I yelp in pain, my braid and queue were laying in a bowl of warm water and different oils but as I sat up it pulled it out of the bowl, the doctor comes in quickly after having heard my yelp, he starts to talk in Na'vi and I start to get nervous as I didn't know how to speak much of it, I raise my shaking hands and mime that I couldn't understand, he looks confused for a moment before nodding and going to find Jake, who enters soon after with the woman from before, Jake looks pissed and worried "what the hell are you doing Rose? Your supposed to stay in bed" he says seriously, coming over and making me lay back down, the woman comes over "Jake has told me what happened, I am sorry, you should be resting" she says softly, the doctor comes to talk with her as I shakily lay my braid and queue back into bowl, the radiating pain lessening just a little, my muscles relax a little.

Over the next hour the woman, I now know as Neytiri, helps the doctor explain that I'd be in a lot of pain for a long time, and that I'd need to keep my queue wrapped in cloth and I'd need to continually add ointments and poultices to help the healing process, the doctor then helped and showed me how to add the ointments then carefully wrap it, keeping the braided hair inside the cloth as an extra precaution, after he finishes I thank him and Jake helps me stand carefully, taking me out and down to the base of the tree as a small hammock had been set aside in a small corner away from the others, though many of the other Na'vi had followed us to see me as it was incredibly rare for such an injury to happen, and they knew it was incredibly painful and dangerous, as well as a loss of part of ones self, almost a loss of honor if the queue was cut completely. Jake sits me down on the hammock and tries to shoo away the onlookers but they don't move much, Neytiri motions for them to leave and they do, though they didn't want to, I watch the small crowd leave to go back to their normal lives "thank you Neytiri" I murmur softly, she smiles a little and nods "rest, Jake must come with me to train however" she says and I nod, smiling a little to Jake "go train then, just don't forget me back here" I joke softly, he chuckles softly and nods "I wont, don't leave this spot, you need to rest" he says seriously, I nod again and he heads off, I smile softly knowing he knew I'd want to explore, I wait for a few minutes to make sure he was gone before I slowly stand, thankful I'm still dressed in my clothing from before, I very gently hold my braid, gently moving it so the wounded area would rest on my shoulder before I quickly sneak out from the corner and move out from under the tree, smiling more as I look up at the huge tree, a child like glee filling me as I move out more away from the tree, keeping my eyes up at the huge branches far above, watching the Banshees fly around up there, as I'm backing up I bump into something, yelping in pain as it jostles my braid, I reach up and gently grab it as I turn around quickly, my eyes wide seeing the Na'vi hunter from before up on his horse like creature, the leader of the hunting party who had taken us to the clan.

Looking up at him my heart starts racing as he glares down at me "I-I'm sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going" I say quickly, tightening my grip on my braid shakily, trying not to wince at the pain, he huffs as he drops down to the ground "sky people should not be here, you'll only cause trouble, and only get more injured" he says grumpily, I frown at that "I was only injured because your hunters were holding knives to our braids" I say a bit angrily, he looks a bit shocked that I had spoken back to him like that before glaring angrily "sky people shouldn't have come so close to our home then" he snaps, I huff and go to walk away "I just wanted to come and see your beautiful world, I never meant to get so close" I say softly, unsure if he had heard me or not but I just head down to the right of the tree, going toward where I could hear water, wanting to swim a little.

I find a small river and sit down on the edge, taking off my boots and sticking my bare feet into the water, sighing softly, the water was perfectly cool, I glance around before slowly standing, making sure my braid was resting on my shoulder before I slip into the water up to my waist, I smile softly and splash some water up onto my face, realizing I had a bit of blood on my face and shirt, I glance around once more to make sure no one was watching before removing my shirt carefully, being very gentle with my braid. I then lay my shirt on a rock sticking out of the water, grabbing another small smooth rock before I carefully scrub the blood stains out of the fabric as best I could, not realizing I was being watched for a few minutes before the person moves, causing a small rock to move and make a scraping sound, I look up and gasp, quickly kneeling down so the water covered my chest, wrapping my arms around myself as the same hunter was standing there watching me strangely "what the hell! How long have you been standing there watching?!" I ask loudly, my heart racing and my hands shaking from the pain of the cold water on my queue, he seems to almost roll his eyes "I came to make sure you weren't doing something wrong" he snaps, I huff and glare back at him "well I'm obviously not, you can leave now" I snap back, he smirks a little "you and your people are strange, Jakesully is in our clothing, why do you still wear those odd garments?" He asks, I pause, a bit surprised at his questioning "because Ive been asleep for days, and I don't know if I'd like your clothing, it shows to much" I reply, he laughs at that "so you are a coward" he sneers, I frown and shake my head, wincing "no! I'm a decent person, I'd rather not show off my body like that, I wouldn't be comfortable" he smirks more "sky people are all cowards" he says before walking off, I frown and splash a little water toward him but he was long gone, I sigh softly and stand back up once I know he's gone, finishing cleaning my shirt I wring it out and carefully pull it back on.

I quietly wander back toward the tree, enjoying the sounds of the forest and people around me, watching the children run around and play or train to be the next warriors and hunters, I smile softly and try to keep to myself, not wanting to bring attention to me anymore than my clothes would, I soon see a few women giving each other earrings, I start to get excited and I move a little closer to them to watch curiously, after a few minutes of watching they notice me and I start to get nervous but one of the younger girls comes up to me curiously, when she realizes I don't understand her she speaks a little in broken English "come...ear...jewelry" she says excitedly, I look up toward the other women and they look a bit nervous so I kneel down to the girl and smile softly, pointing to myself "I can't yet, I'm not part of the clan, I could get in trouble" I explain softly, she frowns and runs over to one of the women and grabs her hand, speaking in Na'vi and pointing to me, I slowly stand and what must be her mother shakes her head and softly tells her off, explaining in Na'vi that I wasn't allowed to have any of their jewelry unless I earn it.

I smile softly at them sadly before quietly returning to my small corner and hammock, tired and still a little wet, I glance around and see a fire with a few other Na'vi around it a few feet away, I hesitate before slowly moving over, sitting down cross legged on the other side of the fire from them, keeping my head and eyes down, not wanting to scare them away or make them glare at me, I stay for a little while quietly, just trying to dry off before I'd head to bed, but it takes longer than I thought and soon the sun starts to set outside, many of the Na'vi start to make their dinner and others start to head upstairs to where they would all eat together, I frown softly knowing I wasn't strong enough to climb up with them so I stay next to the dying fire as the others leave, I grab some more wood and stoke up the fire a little, after most of the clan was upstairs I look up hearing someone climbing down, Jake had grabbed some food for me and he sighs seeing me away from the hammock but he smiles a little and comes over, kneeling next to me "thought you'd be hungry, your body definitely needs food to heal" he says and I gently take the leaf of food, smiling softly "thank you Jake, go head back up, your trying to join the clan so you need to bond with them more, show them we aren't all bad" I say softly, he nods "I will, I just needed to make sure you had food" he says and gently slaps my arm jokingly before heading back up.

Unbeknownst to us the Hunter had been watching us, after Jake disappeared back up the tree he approaches me "why did Jakesully just hit you?" He asks sounding confused and almost angry, I flinch and look up quickly before rolling my eyes "because he was joking with me" I say and shrug a little, wincing and gently readjusting my braid on my shoulder, he raises his eyebrow as he watches me for a moment before shaking his head and heading up to eat, I quietly eat the food tiredly before carefully putting out the fire, afraid it would light something else on fire if I left it, then I head to the hammock to sleep.
