"Grif. Grif! Wake up!"

Grif awoke with a start. He looked around the room to find Simmons standing over him.

"Simmons, what did I tell you about interrupting my beauty naps?" Grif angrily asked.

"This is not the time Grif! Sarge wants us." Simmons explains. As soon as he said that, Grif understood everything.

"So it's just something meaningless or stupid. Wake me up when we get our next shipment of rations comes in." Grif yawns, but Simmons kicks him before he can go back to sleep.

"Some bright light went off just outside the canyon!" Simmons explains. Grif looks at him quizzically.

"Its probably just Caboose playing with a flashbang, didn't you think to tell Sarge this?" Grif asks.

"I did, he still wants us to investigate." Simmons explains.

"Ugh. Fine." Grif groans as he pulls himself to his feet. He followed Simmons outside the base towards where Sarge was standing. "You asked for me, sir?" Grif unenthusiastically asks.

"Yes. Simmons has brought to my attention the blues may be planning an attack!" Sarge exclaims.

"Uh, sir, I don't think-" Simmons starts.

"Quite Simmons! Now, as I was saying, the blues are attacking and it seems they've gotten into a little flashbang trouble revealing their position! So we will go up, out of the canyon to attack!" Sarge explains with his usual excitement.

"What about Donut?" Grif asks.

"He's staying here. If the blues still think we're in our base, that will give us the element of surprise." Sarge explains. "Now come on men! We gotta get to the top of this canyon!"

"And just how do we do that?" Grif asks.

"We get climbin, fat ass. Now move it." Sarge said before shoving Grif forward.

"I'm going, I'm going!" Grif exclaims as he starts leading the group toward one of the canyon walls.

Yui felt light as Hinata was telling her he would marry her, no matter what. She closed her eyes and imagined a scenario of how they would meet. As soon as that was done, she felt gravity had no hold over her. Opening her eyes, she saw nothing but white. Was this Heaven, she thought. She closed her eyes again only for them to open to a clear blue sky.

The heat assaulted her senses as she came to. Continuing to look at the sky, Yui noticed the land arched up like she was on a ring planet. Heaven is weird so far. She finally decides to get up to take a look around.

She didn't know what she was expecting, golden archways, singing angels, something to that effect, what she didn't expect was some canyon with two grey buildings on opposite ends. The closest building had some sort of car parked around it while the other one farther away had... a tank?

"If this is Heaven, Gods got to let my try that out." Yui mutters to herself in awe. Driving that around has to be fun, right? Before deciding what to do next, she is greeted with a surpise.

"Gotcha, blue!" Yui whips around to see a man in bright red futuristic looking armour aiming some kind of gun at her. Why was he attacking her, and why did he call her a blue.

"Excellent work, sir." Another voice said. A man wearing the same type of armour as the man in front of her popped out from behind a rock, only his armour was a dark red. Then another man wearing the same armour, only orange, walks up to the group.

"God job you caught a little girl." He says unenthusiastically. "Wait, what!" He exclaims.

"What is going on!" Yui shouts at the strangers.

"We should be asking you that. What are you doing here?" The orange guy asks.

"Can it, Grif! Can't you see? The blues have sent this cute little girl to infiltrate us! Steal our intel! And kill us in our sleep! It was a clever ploy, until it was unraveled." The red man said, with the last part being in a dramatic tone.

"What is a blue?" Yui asks. "Oh, and what is here?"

"I don't think she's a threat, sir." The orange guy, Grif, attempts to assure the red guy.

"Shut up gullible. Like the small brained turd you are, you've obviously fallen for the ploy." Red said. Was this guy for real.

"I think Grif is unto something, sir. I think she's genuinely lost." The maroon coloured guy says.

"Awe, fine." Red finally lowers his gun. "Whats your name little missy?"

"Oh, I'm Yui!" Yui exclaims. "Whats with the armour? What kind of gun is that? Are you hot in that? Can I drive the tank down there?" She says as she moves around red at fast speeds, looking over his armour.

"Heh heh, finally someone with an eye for the finer things in life." Red says happily. "Tell you what, I'll take you to red base and show you all the beautiful equipment we have there. As she walked off with red, she heard Grif and maroon conversing quitely.

"Thinking she's a blue only for him to take her in the base with almost no convincing..." Maroon sighs.

"Makes you wonder how we haven't been killed yet." Grif responds.

The three armoured men led Yui down to one of the buildings she saw earlier. Upon reaching the canyon, she noticed it was hotter down here than up there here. Hopefully these people had air conditioning.

"Now, little missy, we're in a war against the blues, who threaten our way of life. The red way of life. Hence why we are amoured and I'm equipped with my baby here. The M90 shotgun. All our armour comes equipped with with AC systems. And that tank you saw earlier belongs to the blues... you don't wanna drive that." He explains, answering all her questions. "I am Sargent Sarge. The commanding officer of this deployment of reds.

"Wait, your name is Sarge?" Yui asks.

"Yes, mam. My pappy always told me to dress for the job I wanted, I just took it one step further, heh heh he." Sarge explains. Had she just fallen in with a different group of idiots? This couldn't be heaven right?

"Uh, where am I?" Yui asks.

"Well, this place is called Blood Gulch. The base is Blood Gulch outpost number one." Sarge answers.

"Yeah, now that thats out of the way, what are you doing here?" Grif unenthusiastically asks.

"I..." Yui stutters. "I don't know. I thought I passed on."

"Wait, you think you died?" Maroon asks.

"I know I died! Is this Heaven? I didn't expect it to be so... hot..." Yui sighs.

"The base has AC if you want to talk about it inside?" Simmons asks.

"Yes please." Yui exclaims. She zips right inside.

"Great. whats next." Grif groans as he walks in the base, behind Sarge and Simmons.

Inside, the conversation continues.

"What do you mean, you know you died?" Maroon asks.

"I mean I'm no longer alive. I came to terms with my life and suddenly I'm here." Yui exclaims.

"I'm lost." Grif says.

"Thats cause you were never listening." Maroon says.

"Huh, what was that?" Grif asks, only proving his point.

"So, is there any family you know we can contact?" Maroon asks. Only then does Yui realize she's in this alone.

"No." She says sadly while looking to the ground. Silence is brought on the group.

"Well... uh... don't worry... red team will take care of you." Sarge attempts to comfort her, though its clear, he doesn't know what he's doing. "Uh, I know! I'll get Donut! He'll talk with you!" He exclaims.

"Does that mean I can go back to sleep?" Grif asks.

"Nap times over! Drop and give me 100!" Sarge orders.

"Do I have to?" Grif whines.

"You could just drop dead if you want." Sarge points his shotgun at Grif.

"Fine, sir." Grif replies angrilly, dropping to the ground and begins struggling to do his first push up.

"I'm gonna go find Donut. Simmons, you stay with her." Sarge orders.

"Yes sir!" Simmons exclaims. Sarge walks put of the base as Simmons turns back towards her. "Uh, just curious. What made you think you were dead?"

"I was in the afterlife... or a part of it. I died around... twice in it and came back, so I'm sure I'm dead." Yui says confidently. "Aren't you?"

"Great, the heats already gotten to her." Grif groans on the floor, already given up with his push ups.

"Grif!" Simmons admonishes. "I'm so sorry about him."

"Don't worry. I've dealt with idiots in the afterlife. Even death can't cure stupid." Yui says.

"Heh. I like that quote. Sarge would love it. Especially if it applies to Grif." Simmons says.

"Fuck off." Grif retaliates as he simply continues to lay, lazily, on the floor.

"I'm back!" Sarge exclaims as he enters the base. Once he sees Grif laying on the ground, he walks over and kicks the orange soldier in the stomach. "Back to work numbnut." Grif wordlessly gets back to his pushups as a pink soldier enters the base. Sarge leaves as soon as he's made sure Grif has suffered.

"Who's our visitor!" He exclaims as he enters. He then see's Yui. "Hi there! My names, Franklin Donut! What brings you out here?"

"I'm Yui, and I'm not sure why I'm here." Yui responds.

"What a mystery." Grif mutters. "Long story short, all we know is shes not here willingly. Who the fucked wanna come here?"

"I think this would be an excellent spot for a vacation." Donut replies.

"Where we work... really?" Simmons asks, sceptically.

"Yeah. Its great for sunbathing, I was just doing that when Sarge came to get me." Donut explains.

"I did not need that image in my head." Grif mutters. Yui giggles at soldiers interactions.

"Sorry, you guys just remind me so much of my old friends." She explains.

"The ones you said were idiots? I can believe that." Grif says.

"They never admitted they were stupid." Yui points out.

"Oh well." Grif says, already bored with the conversation he turns to leave the room.

"Where are you going?" Simmons asks.

"I'm gonna get breakfast." Grif says as he continues.

"But its 2 in the afternoon." Simmons point out.

"Then I guess I get to eat lunch too." Grif calls back, having already left the room.

"So what do we with her now?" Simmons asks to Donut. "She doesn't have any family or friends to send back to."

"Why don't we keep her?" Donut asks.

"Keep her?!" Simmons exclaims.

"Hey! I am not a pet you can just keep!" Yui yells to the pink soldier.

"No, I mean like a member of the team. Theres no where else for you to go to, so why not stay here? I'm sure you'll like it." Donut assures. Yui starts to consider his offer.

"For the last time Donut, no one likes it here except you and Caboose." Simmons says.

"What about Sarge? He never seems to want to leave." Donut asks.

"Thats cause the blues are here." Simmons points out. "And thats the only reason."

"Since, I don't have anywhere else to go, I guess I'll stay here." Yui sighs.

"Oh, yes! You are going to love it here. Don't worry about anything, I'll help you through." Donut offers. Yui smiles at him.

"Thank you."

"We can also talk about interior decorating, gardening, a bunch of other things." He happily replies.

"How about music?" Yui asks.

"Of coarse! What a great idea!" Donut exclaims.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Simmons sighs. Things were gonna get interesting from here.

Found this in my docs. Turns out its been here for around a year. I don't plan to continue you but maybe you, reader, can finish it?
