Hello guys, here comes another interesting chapter. I will start the original scene from where Jan Di drowns in the water and Ji Hoo saves her but it will have a lot twists in it as well. In fact

Thank you all for following and commenting on my stories, I appreciate it a lot. As a young upcoming writer, I would like to know how people feel, this encourages me to do what is meant to be done. Oh by the way, I found an app to help improve my writing skills.

Disclaimer: I don't own boys over flowers characters.

People often said that even the sky and earth have their boundary

But why there's no end when it comes to yearning?

The frost melts into word

Poems are written when flowers bloom

Yet I'm the only one who cannot do it [writing]

Who could gift me warm of spring when I'm in the frozen winter

Once life and death have been banned.

Flying swan goose cross the snow and chase the sun while create white silk

My pain stops spontaneously

That a disloyal lover is unaware

Your constant caring words to me are something

That disloyal lover is unaware

Attending endless events as jumping into the fire and losing feathers

Almost makes me silly

If I hesitate in this moment

I fear that I might just waste my life

There is a poem from fire without diving into one.

Is there anything I can do to make things simple for you again?

Jan Di grew contemplative. She shook her head no. "I think I just need to figure out some things for myself, and my life…"

Ji Hoo nodded and looked out ahead, as he listened.

"Sometimes I wonder about what my life would be like if I was dating Jun Pyo," Jan Di confided. She gave a short laugh. "I can't really picture myself with him."

Ji Hoo gently squeezed Jan Di's hand as she shivered and felt cold as a result of his best friend. He was aware that they were not yet official, but Jun Pyo stated that if he desired something, he would gladly accept it regardless of the method.

He only announced Jan Di as his girlfriend last week, despite her refusal to approve. She had even come to the island because Ji Hoo had asked her to, but she would not have come if it hadn't been for him. "I can give you a simple life if that's what you desire," he said

They arrived at her cabin to find a group of people staring at them, wondering where they had spent the night. Jun Pyo's instinct was to pull Jan Di away from Ji Hoo's glued-together hands. He proceeded to look down at her feet, he noticed that she was wearing wedge female sandals with a fish mouth buckle and a flat bottom platform that was waterproof. These were very expensive, and he remembered not putting such shoes in her luggage, implying that Ji Hoo had purchased them for her. "Where were you?" he asked as calmly as he could, but inside he was jealous because Jan Di looked good in the shoes his best friend had bought her, and worst of all, she was wearing his best friend's big shirt and if one looked closely a white bikini inside.

Did he see her body?

Jan Di was unable to respond immediately due to how Jun Pyo observed her, not only him but also the others. He looked to Ji Hoo for an explanation as to why he was with his girlfriend. And why was she dressed in non-Geum Jan Di attire?

"Jan Di was involved in an accident during the commotion yesterday," he explained. That was completely true, but he then lied, saying, "I took her to the clinic and that's where we spent the night and she had nothing to wear so I bought her these."

"Oh...so, how are you?" Jun Pyo asked Jan Di gently, but she had a frown on her brow because he was holding her hand and squeezing it tightly. She cleared her throat and gazed at where he was holding her hand.

Jun Pyo let go right away and her best friend was at her side. The two best friends hugged each other, "Jan Di-ah, someone said the rain for yesterday wasn't rain but an Omen from heaven showing Soulmates joining together and never be apart," she said, and Woo Bin chimed in, saying that it's a good sign of two people who are meant to be together and will never be separated, but Jun Pyo seemed to be unaware of what was being said.

"What is a soulmate?" he inquired of the group.

"A soulmate is someone with whom you instantly connect the moment you meet." A bond so strong that you're drawn to them in ways you've never felt before." Ga Eul responded, her eyes dreamily closed.

"As this connection deepens over time, you experience a love so deep, strong, and complex that you begin to doubt that you have ever truly loved anyone before," Ji Hoo concluded. His gaze was fixed on Jan Di, and he gave her a secret smile, which she immediately returned.

"Right Jan Di-ah," Jun Pyo said. He was well aware that Ji Hoo had a strong bond with Jan Di, but he had failed to recognize it. "that's what we have, right?" he asked the group, and none of them could meet his gaze because it was a lie. Jan Di and Ga Eul left, and Ji Hoo went to his room to rest, but he couldn't sleep because all he could think about was Jan Di... the sweet floral scent of her skin, the softness of her skin, and the way she smiled at him

"Jan Di-ah," he said, smiling and closing his eyes. "I hope I never stop feeling this way," he mumbled.

Later in the afternoon…

The group was now calm that Ji Hoo and Jan Di had returned, and they were hanging out by the beach. Jan Di was swimming again, and it's no surprise Ji Hoo referred to her as an otter while Jun Pyo and Ji Hoo napped in beach chairs.

"Could you please explain why you called me an otter and not a mermaid?"

"Because otters are small and cute, they are calm around water and excellent swimmers. Just like you My Love."

Ga Eul sat on a chair and began to apply sunscreen to her exposed skin, straining to reach her back.

"Do you want me to do that for you?" Yi Jeong appeared unexpectedly. And he sat down beside her, a grin on his face.

"No, thank you," Ga Eul said arrogantly. Yi Jeong smiled amusedly—he wasn't used to women declining such an offer from him... He simply walked away, shrugging his shoulders.

Ga Eul returned her gaze to Woo Bin, who was applying lotion to Lucy. Woo Bin smiled at Ga Eul. "Ahh, my baby has the softest skin, just like a baby's...," he said as he smoothed lotion across the young woman's back in circular motions.

Ga Eul's nose wrinkled up in disgust, and she gagging motioned. "Gross… What the...?"

She got up and walked toward the water, looking for Jan Di. She hadn't seen her in a few minutes. "Jan Di-ah...," Ga Eul exclaimed as she approached the water's edge. "Where are you, Jan Di-ah? This isn't funny... come out now..., "She kept calling for her best friend.

Ga Eul's gaze drifted over the turquoise water until she noticed frantic splashing a few meters away. "Jan Di-ah!" Ga Eul yelled to Jan Di, who was hunched over and bobbing up and down just above and below the water's surface.

Ga Eul frantically called Jan Di's name, pleading for help. Jun Pyo was the first to rush to Ga Eul's aid.

"What's the matter?!"

"Something is wrong with Jan Di!" Ga Eul exclaimed, panic lacing her words.

Jun Pyo decisively took two steps into the water and then stood there, frozen. Though he desperately wanted to move, Jun Pyo could not bring himself to do so…

Seconds later, Ji Hoo rushed out into the water and quickly swam out to Jan Di. Ga Eul watched—terrified and clasping her hands together—praying that her best friend would be alright.

Jun Pyo's brow furrowed. He once again attempted to lift a leg, but it wasn't budging, as if he was stuck in a deep, thick mud. So, he stood there rooted to the spot…

Ji Hoo approached Jan Di and protectively encircled her waist with his arms. He kept her head above water as he swam back to shore with her. Ji Hoo picked up the unconscious Jan Di and carried her in his arms as soon as they arrived on land. Yi Jeong and Woo Bin rushed to Ji Hoo's aid, and together they placed Jan Di on her side on a towel.

"Wake up, Jan Di-ah! Jan Di-ah!" Ga Eul pleaded and repeatedly patted Jan Di on the back.

"Hey, let me check on her." When Jan Di did not respond, Ji Hoo pressed Ga Eul. He positioned Jan Di on her back and tilted her chin. He called out her name. He placed his mouth over hers and started CPR when she didn't respond.

"Jan Di-ah, please don't do this!" Ji Hoo begged her as he started the second round of CPR. He felt a hard knot in his stomach and a dull, painful ache in his own chest as he pumped hers repeatedly, muttering quiet, desperate pleas for her to breathe again.

Ji Hoo's desperation grew with each passing second, and he felt hot tears welling up at the corners of his eyes. He put his mouth over hers once more...

After what we went through yesterday. Don't do this to me Jan Di-ah, he thought.

Jan Di's lungs filled with Ji Hoo's air after one last strong breath. Her chest rose and fell, and she immediately began choking. Ji Hoo let her roll over slightly as she sputtered and coughed up a mouthful of seawater.

Ji Hoo swallowed the lump in his throat and closed his eyes tight in silent gratitude. Yi Jeong and Woo Bin each patted him on the back.

"Jan Di-ah!" Ga Eul called out her name, relieved as well. She wiped a few tears from her face and went to Jan Di's side, lightly rubbing her arm. Jan Di blinked a few times and looked between Ga Eul, Ji Hoo, and the others.

"Jan Di-ah, are you okay?" Ji Hoo cradled Jan Di's head, his chest rising and falling heavily as the adrenaline coursing through his body began to fade. She blinked up at him a few more times before slowly nodding.

"Oh, Jan Di-ah...don't do that to me ever again!" Ji Hoo exclaimed, and giving in to his emotions, he embraced her still limp body completely. Ji Hoo embraced her firmly but tenderly and pressed her against his chest for protection. The group looked on, wondering what happened between the two when they were alone out there.

He needed to know she was alive and well and still with him...

Jan Di mumbled hoarsely, "...Mianhae, Sunbae..." as he held her and she rested her chin against his shoulder. Jan Di noticed Jun Pyo over Ji Hoo's shoulder at that moment. He was already halfway down the beach, walking away from the rest of the group.

Ji Hoo gradually let go of Jan Di and assisted her in sitting up straight. Ji Hoo leaned in close. "Are you okay?"

She gave a nod.

Ji Hoo then placed a hand on each side of Jan Di's face. "Is it possible for me to never take my gaze away from you? I don't believe I'll ever be able to close them again...," Ji Hoo locked his gaze on her mahogany eyes.

"Mianhae, Sunbae...," Jan Di said again, her eyes wide with wonder.

Ji Hoo escorted Jan Di to her room, closely followed by Ga Eul, once he was sure she was okay to get up. When they arrived, Ji Hoo almost seemed to want to follow her inside. But she knew it wasn't for immoral reasons; he was just concerned about her. He was probably afraid she was going to pass out or something.

Jan Di looked up at him with a tender smile. "I'm fine, Sunbae," she said, as if she could read his mind.

"OK," he said, squeezing her arm and letting her in. Ga Eul went inside with her in case she needed anything, while Ji Hoo waited outside.

Ga Eul had been perplexed by what had occurred. When Jan Di was in trouble, Jun Pyo was the first to respond, but he'd frozen in place... And then he'd walked away from everyone without saying anything...

Jan Di was aware that Jun Pyo could not swim. And she reminded Ga Eul of the incident at Seo Hyun's school party. Jan Di remembered that night... Jun Pyo had fallen into the swimming pool, and she had rescued him. She'd given him CPR only to have him open his eyes and pull her down in an attempt to kiss her. Jan Di shook her head in disbelief. She was outraged at the time, but it was now more of an amusing, cute, funny memory to reflect on...

Jan Di, on the other hand, had no idea why Jun Pyo had never learned to swim. So, Yi Jeong and Woo Bin told the girls about Jun Pyo's tragic experience when he was eight years old. They told them how he was kidnapped by a man who was the Gu family's driver at the time...

"Unbelievable!" When Jan Di and Ga Eul discovered this information, they exclaimed.

F2 went on to say that the police had pursued the kidnapper, and that during the chase, the car had driven over a bridge into the river, killing Jun Pyo inside.

Jun Pyo had been terrified of water since he was a child, and he had refused to set foot in it...

No one had seen Jun Pyo since the incident with Jan Di, but he'd sent F3 a message with the time and location of their meeting. At 8 p.m., F3, Jan Di, and Ga Eul arrived on the beach to find a series of tables set up with a beautiful, elaborate dinner spread laid out in front of them.

"Wow...," Woo Bin exclaimed.

"What's the deal, Jun Pyo-ah?" Yi Jeong inquired, his grin wide.

Jun Pyo had a wide smile on his face. "I just thought I'd make an extra special meal for all of you tonight."

"I wish I was the one for whom you prepared this feast!" Woo Bin smiled and looked over at Jan Di who had a confused expression on her face.

Yi Jeong and Woo Bin sat at a round table in the center, surrounded by a white linen tablecloth. Ji Hoo motioned for Ga Eul to proceed, and then ushered Jan Di to the table with a hand on the small of her back. Ji Hoo pulled out a chair for Ga Eul, who sat in it, and then another for Jan Di. However, Jun Pyo grabbed Jan Di's wrist before she could sit.

"Yah! What are you doing, Gu Jun Pyo?! "She exclaimed, casting a helpless glance back to the group as Jun Pyo dragged her away to a separate table. Jan Di gave Jun Pyo a dirty look as he forced her to sit at a longer, rectangular table. Jan Di's brow furrowed in perplexity, but her gaze returned to the display in front of her, and her expression softened.

The table was piled high with a variety of delectable-looking foods, many of which Jan Di couldn't identify, and the incredible smells were tantalizing her taste buds, practically making her mouth water.

Ji Hoo gradually sagged into the chair. He quickly lost his appetite at the site before him.

"Eat all of this," Jun Pyo told Jan Di.

"Eh?! Do you think I'm Godzilla or something?" Jan Di objected.

"You need to build up your strength," he explained, "after all, who has ever heard of a swimmer nearly drowning?"

"It was a cramp!" Jan Di shot back. "That could happen to anyone," she grumbled.

Jun Pyo exhaled a deep sigh. "I don't care if it's a cramp or a rat; I can't have someone associated with me being so frail... So go ahead and eat!"

Jun Pyo received a scowl from Jan Di. "All right," she said. Jun Pyo came to a halt, staring at her expectantly, as if waiting for her to begin. So Jan Di reached for the fork at the table setting. She cleared her throat waiting for him to go away

They exchanged an awkward glance before Jun Pyo walked away to join Yi Jeong and Woo Bin at their table.

Jan Di turned to face Ji Hoo. He was seated, staring down at his hands, which were neatly resting on his lap. She sighed and returned her attention to the food in front of her.

Ji Hoo then cast a glance over at Jan Di. She was now staring straight ahead, a fork poised at her lips. Ji Hoo shifted his gaze to the next table, where Jun Pyo sat with Yi Jeong and Woo Bin. Yi Jeong and Woo Bin had already started eating, but Jun Pyo was staring at Jan Di instead...hoping for her to start eating what he prepared for her.

Ji Hoo became envious and quietly stood and walked away without saying anything.

Jan Di became concerned as she watched Ji Hoo walk away. She wondered if he was having any problems... She debated whether or not to follow Ji Hoo, and her curiosity eventually won out.

Jan Di crossed the bridge and made her way to the rooms. The sun had set, and the twinkle of small lights along the bridge and in their room doorways illuminated her path.

Jan Di found Ji Hoo leaning against the railing outside his room, his light blue cotton shirt blowing in the breeze. And he was staring at the flower she'd seen him buy at the market the day before…She took a moment to admire how the moonlight accentuated his features, but then her concern for him returned. She considered going up to him and asking if something was wrong, but he seemed to be deep in thought… Not wishing to disturb him, she turned to head back.

After an hour...

Jan Di had decided to go for a walk to get her mind off things, since she was feeling much better now. She returned to where the group had gathered for dinner after it had completely darkened, but no one was there. She discovered Ga Eul in her room, and the girls walked down to the beach, where the guys were sitting on a couch under a cabana, surrounded by candles to light the area. Jun Pyo, Yi Jeong, Woo Bin, and their girls were huddled around a magazine. Jan Di and Ga Eul came up behind them.

They could hear the guys talking as they approached, and a gloomy cloud seemed to hover over the group...

"Do you think Ji Hoo noticed this?" Yi Jeong inquired.

"I'm not sure...

maybe…

"He seemed a little quiet tonight, didn't he?" Woo Bin was added.

Yi Jeong nodded, "Mm."

"He hadn't even eaten dinner..."

"Aish! Why should he give a damn if Seo Hyun marries?! They were never in a relationship to begin with" Jun Pyo chimed in.

Jan Di came to a halt, and Ga Eul looked at her with interest.

Is Seo Hyun getting married?

"That could be Jun Pyo, but it's perfectly normal for Ji Hoo to be perplexed by it." I mean, he'd been in love with Seo Hyun for a long time... And she has undoubtedly played an important role in his life... She was his first love, and she saved him from despair after his parents died... that doesn't mean he doesn't care...," Yi Jeong responded.

Jan Di's heart leapt into her throat.

Jan Di was hit hard by Ji Hoo's former love's mention, and the reminder of how much he had loved her and how much she had meant to him. Jan Di remembered Ji Hoo walking away from dinner; she hadn't seen him since, and she became concerned that Ji Hoo was depressed because of Seo Hyun...

But we slept together; was it out of desperation that he did it?

"Where is Ji Hoo anyway?" Woo Bin asked as if responding to Jan Di's innermost thoughts.

"I don't know. He left without even touching his dinner…and I haven't seen him since…," Yi Jeong explained.

Jun Pyo scoffed. "Well, if you ask me, he needs to just get over it and stop moping around! He's acting like a huge jerk!"

Yi Jeong and Woo Bin exchanged a glance. Jun Pyo had certainly had a lot of animosity toward Ji Hoo lately. They had hoped that the vacation would be relaxing for all of them, but now it seemed to be having the opposite impact

She kicked off her shoes and began running until she was right next to him. Ji Hoo knew Jan Di was there, but he didn't dare to look at her because of what he was feeling.

"Is it true?" she wondered. "It's just a rumor, right?" was the first question she asked. But he didn't respond, and Jan Di's eyes burned from the tears that rushed forward in response to the pain in her chest. "I apologize. I honestly didn't..."

"You seem to understand her better than I do." Ji Hoo finally looked her in the eyes.

"Sunbae…"

"He is a good match for Seo Hyun. I could never compete with him." He despised the way the words came out of his mouth, tasting like acid, anger, and self-pity.

"That's not the case!" Her ferocity took him completely by surprise. "It can't be like that," she said, as a tear streamed down her cheek.

Ji Hoo sighed. He stood and immediately closed the distance between them. He placed his hands on her waist and dragged her to his chest

"Jan Di-ah… Why are you saying all this?" he asked.

"Please, be happy" her voice was a whisper that forced him to close his eyes "Please, tell me you'll be happy. If Sunbae is sad, I'll be sad too."

"How could I never like a girl like you?" She seemed surprised at his words. Before she could ask if it was true, he leaned in and in resolutely to capture her lips. The kiss began soft, but then Ji Hoo's lips slowly parted…

Jan Di didn't understand what was happening right now… Why was he kissing her? Several tears rolled down her cheeks, while their lips remained locked.

Regardless of her confusion, Jan Di followed suit tentatively and allowed her own lips to part, as he deepened their kiss and ran his hands all along her arms.

Then, Ji Hoo raised one hand to her hair and tangled his fingers within the strands. He tasted the saltiness of her kiss but persisted until the oxygen ran out...

"I adore you Jan Di-ah," he said sincerely "I hope you never doubt what I feel here…" he put her small hand to his chest. "in my heart and I'm beginning to feel it in my blood"

Jan Di felt something then, a presence, someone looking at her, and when she turned around to her left, what she saw made her stomach plummet to her feet.

"Goo Jun Pyo." She pulled her hand back immediately

Ji Hoo's head also turned to see and, sure enough, his best friend, his brother, was standing there, with a look of utter horror on his face. He stood up and slowly rounded Jan Di. If Jun Pyo wanted to attack, he didn't want her to end up getting hurt.

"So…this is it? This is why you rejected me?" Jun Pyo's voice carried fury and hurt.

Suddenly, Jun Pyo quickly approached Ji Hoo and punched him knocking him on the ground.

"Jun Pyo, Gu Jun! Stop doing this! Please, halt!" Jan Di approached the two men and took a position between them.

"Is this something you're also unfamiliar with? Is this also a trap!?"

"No, it's not!" She realized he was referring to the time a picture of her with another guy was displayed at school, but this was different.

Jan Di hadn't touched Jun Pyo, but it appeared as if she had punched him as well, because he staggered back at her response. Taking advantage of this, she quickly turned to assist Ji Hoo, but he had already stood up and moved to stand in front of Jun Pyo, putting Jan Di behind him. This gesture did not go unnoticed by his best friend.

"Don't you see how he's taking advantage of you?"

"No, he would never take advantage of what I feel for him" she responded immediately though not sure about it.

"Why did you make me like you? Why did you go along with it if!?" He exploded.

"I tried many times to tell you, but you would not listen! And when you humiliated me in front of the entire school, I drew the line." Jan Di had wanted to tell him from the start that she didn't feel that way about him.

"You just led me on, didn't you?"

"Jun Pyo, please..."

"You took advantage of me to get closer to my best friend!"

"That wasn't the case!" Ji Hoo was the one who responded.

"This is truly the end of the road. Jan Di, don't ever appear in front of me again." Jun Pyo turned around and began walking away after saying this.

"Jun Pyo-ah!" At the very least, Ji Hoo wished to reason with him. "Jan Di is already my woman; no one can change that."

"What do you mean?" he asked as he returned to his friend. He was so enraged that he felt compelled to beat him once more.

"Yes," Jan Di said this time. "I never agreed with you; you forced me to be your girlfriend despite the fact that you had no idea what was going on in my heart." She had a few more things to say. "You incited the entire school to attack me, and I would have died if Sunbae hadn't appeared to save me."

"I had no idea you were such a whore," he said to Jan Di without thinking. "I will make both of you pay," he said as he walked away.

She turned to face Ji Hoo, then lunged at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. And he gladly welcomed her in. "It's fine."

"Sunbae...," she said as she sank deeper into his chest; she wouldn't have minded living there permanently... And Ji Hoo wrapped his arms around her even tighter and kissed the top of her head.

The Next Morning...

Ji Hoo and Jan Di went to breakfast. Ji Hoo sat beside Yi Jeong and across from Jan Di, while Jan Di sat beside Ga Eul and across from Woo Bin. Jun Pyo was nowhere to be seen...

Woo Bin was on the phone. "What?" he exclaimed to the party on the other end. Woo Bin then nodded, "Arasso," and hung up.

"Are you sure?" Yi Jeong interrogated Woo Bin. "Did Jun Pyo really leave without us?"

Woo Bin exhaled. "It appears to be the case. He took off by jet this morning at dawn "He informed the group.

Yi Jeong shook his head. "You, crazy immature fool..."

Yi Jeong cast a glance between Ji Hoo and Jan Di. "Did something happen? Do you have any idea what's going on?"

And Yi Jeong gave Ji Hoo a second look. "Ji Hoo, what happened to your eye?"

Woo Bin, too, seemed perplexed. Ji Hoo, on the other hand, remained silent.

Ga Eul looked at Jan Di with curiosity, and Jan Di shook her head, indicating that she didn't know anything about any of it. Jan Di's brow furrowed in concern, and she lowered her head, pondering...

Ji Hoo tightened his lips and remained silent, despite the fact that he had a pretty good idea why Jun Pyo had taken off so quickly and left them all behind...

He took out his phone and dialed for his private jet. It looked also quite fancy...and Ji Hoo's style.

Three days later…

Jun Pyo made his announcement. "I the great Gu Jun Pyo," he said, his gaze cold on her. " the leader of F4, announces that Yoon Ji Hoo is no longer a member of F4 and that he and Geum Jan Di will be expelled from Shinhwa school within a week." he finished and walked away and his friends trailed behind him, wondering what had happened.

Jan Di sat at her table, devouring the special meal Ji Hoo had prepared for her. She wasn't in the mood to eat, and she despised the fact that Jun Pyo believes the world revolves around him.

Woo Bin and Yi Jeong exchanged puzzled looks with Jan Di before following him. They were well aware that their friend was madly in love with Geum Jan Di, but she didn't share their feelings. So Yi Jeong learned from Ga Eul that Jan Di was in love with another man, none other than Yoon Ji Hoo, who was also interested in her.

"Yah, what was that all about?" "Are we going to put up with your whims again?"

Gu Jun Pyo, who was furious, proceeded to tell them about Ji Hoo and Jan Di's relationship, that they were intimate. "Do you see why I want them gone now?"

Is that the Omen that they were discussing on the island? about soulmates being together? And Ji Hoo and Jan Di went missing, claiming she was in an accident. Woo Bin and Yi Jeong exchanged a glance.

"You won't be able to make her like you, Jun Pyo." Woo Bin tried to persuade him "She has a decision to make, and neither you nor I can intervene,"

"Which side are you on, mine or those traitors?" he asked, frowning and walking away.

"I need to speak with Ji Hoo," Yi Jeong said as he walked away from his friend.

Meanwhile, Ji Hoo had arrived at the cafeteria and was watching the trio torment Jan Di. They had ruined her food and told her she was cheap and that she was to blame for best friends splitting up. This enraged him. "I will accept responsibility, tell me?" he demanded. "What should I do?"

"Sunbae... Ji Hoo-sunbae?" They all turned to look at him. "Sunbae, you need to wake up,"

"Aren't you the ones who need to wake up?", If I see you tormenting her again, you will regret it," he said coldly to the trio.

"You will be the one to regret it when we stop supporting you," Ginger said as she walked away, her friends close behind.

"Come on, stop putting on that face." And with a smile, he managed to change her mood.

Jan Di packed her lunch, and once more, they went to the staircase. It seemed to be some kind of tacit agreement that this had become their place.

"Now we're both in a tough spot," Ji Hoo commented, leaning against the wall.

"I'm okay with being expelled, but I can't let that happen to you."

"Well, it's not like I'm planning to sit back and wait." Ji Hoo looked at Jan Di's worried face. He could imagine what she must have felt at Jun Pyo's declaration.

"Do you regret what happened between us?" he inquired delicately. He waited for her response before making any decision that would keep them as a couple or friends.

"I don't sunbae..." she replied, her cheek flushed.

"Good to know," he said as he moved closer, "I...don't regret it either." So, are you okay with us facing this challenge together?"

she pursed her lips. "Well…, if you're certain...that you want to be with me,"

"I'm certain," he replied right away.

"S-Sunbae..." she said softly.

"What will I do to make you say my name?" I've already told you that I'm Ji Hoo, not your sunbae anymore." Ji Hoo smiled as he closed the small gap between them.

"What would you like for me to call you, Sunbae? Because I'm used to it" she asked.

Ji Hoo revealed his brilliant smile. He rubbed his chin and raised his eyes to the sky.

"You can keep calling me that if you want to…," he wrapped his arms around her small waist, "Or you can call me that in public but when we're alone, you call me Ji Hoo…," his voice was like a caress. Then, he leaned into where his lips were just…about…touching hers, but not quite

And after what seemed like an eternity, his willpower clearly greater than her own, Ji Hoo's lips met Jan Di's, and she felt as though fireworks were exploding within her heart.

They finally broke the kiss and looked into each other's eyes. They were still holding one another, smiling, and faintly catching their breath.

Ji Hoo grew serious. "Jan Di, will you promise me something?"

"What?"

"We should never abandon each other no matter what Gu Jun Pyo does to us"

She gazed into his eyes

"Will you promise me?"

"Yes," she nodded.

"That is excellent. We need to stick together, Jan Di-ah, you and I... Whatever happens, I will never abandon you and I hope you never abandon me or I'll be sad..."

Jan Di gave him a sweet smile. Ji Hoo reluctantly let her go, telling her that he had to leave but that he would see her after school. He kissed her again on the forehead and turned away.

"Oh, I have something for you, but I'll give it to you when I come to pick you up...," he smiled and winked as he walked away.

Jan Di smiled as she watched him until he was out of sight. She scoffed at herself after unintentionally releasing a dreamy sigh.

If it hadn't been clear before, it was now, crystal clear. Jan Di was irrevocably in love with Yoon Ji Hoo…otherwise, why would she give herself to him and why would he make love to her…

Later in the evening

Ji Hoo pulled up in front of Jan Di's family dry cleaning business. She reluctantly disentangled her arms from around his waist and got off. She handed the helmet to him; he put it aside and got off his bike, too, he walked silently with Jan Di home. His face was stoic as usual but there was a hint of a smile teasing the corner of his lips. He held her hand and squeezed it gently. He reached her home and offered to walk her up but she declined.

"Okay, then call me later." He smiled, pressed a box into her hand, and kissed her on the cheek. She looked down after the initial shock to see a new iPhone in her palm. She had seen the phones advertised on TV but had never imagined herself holding one. "I already added my number," he said as she opened the box, which had a SpongeBob-themed yellow cover. I'm not sure if you'll need them, but... I also included the rest of F4, because they are just as important to me as you are."

Sponge Bob is my favorite cartoon character; how did he learn this?

Ji Hoo's own sadness flashed across his face for a split second before he returned to his smile, as if he didn't think she'd notice. She squeezed his hand and returned his smile with one of her own.

"Normally, I'd throw this back down and say I don't want it, but it's from you—" she shuddered and let the sentence drop. "Thank you, Sun—I mean Ji Hoo-ah."

"This is for you," he said as he presented her with a box of expensive-looking chocolates. There was a note on its wrapper that said 'Smile for me,' and she did.

"Gomawo," she said, rising to her toes and pressing her lips against his. He was caught off guard and didn't have time to respond, and before he knew it, she was on her way to her house.

When she arrived home, her family was frantically putting together a slew of school uniforms. Apparently, girls were sending their uniforms to be cleaned at their shop in the hopes of meeting handsome guys.
