Caspian is walking in the woods with Trufflehunter and Nikabrik whispering behind him.
"I can hear you."
They come out from hiding and express their opinions.
"I just think we should wait for the rulers of old."
Caspian just keeps on walking.
"Fine, go then! See if the others will be as understanding!"
"Or maybe I'll come with you. I want to see you explain things to the minotaurs."
"Minotaurs. They're real?"
"And very bad-tempered."
"Yeah, not to mention big."
"Huge."
"What about centaurs? Do they still exist?"
"Well, the centaurs will probably fight on your side. But there's no telling what the others will do."
"And what about Aslan?"
Trufflehunter and Nikabrik stop walking and look at each other.
"How do you know so much about us?"
"Stories."
"Wait a minute. Your father told you stories about Narnia?"
"No, my professor. Listen, I am sorry. These are not the kinds of questions you should be asking."
Caspian starts walking again, and Trufflehunter smells something.
"What is it?"
"Human."
"Him?"
"No, them!"
He points to a group of Telmarine soldiers coming after them.
"There they are!"
"Run!"
They run off as arrows are being shot at them. Trufflehunter gets hit and falls.
"Oh, no!"
"Wait, I'll go!"
Caspian runs back to get Trufflehunter, but Trufflehunter hands him the horn.
"Take it! It's more important than I am!"
Soldiers stop to aim at them. The ferns rustle, and a soldier falls. Caspian is confused, but picks up Trufflehunter and runs. More soldiers fall as they continue to pursue Caspian. He reaches Nikabrik and sets Trufflehunter down.
"Get him out of here!"
He draws his sword and starts walking back. Another soldier falls. The last one throws down his crossbow, draws his sword, and starts swinging everywhere around him.
"Where are you?!"
The soldier falls. The rustle in the ferns keeps coming closer to Caspian. The, something jumps out of the ferns and knocks Caspian down. A sword flies through the air and lands in the creature's hand. He points it at Caspian.
"Choose your last words carefully, Telmarine!"
Caspian stares at the creature before him, and he can only think of one thing to say.
"You are a mouse."
"I was hoping for something a little more original. Come on, pick up your sword."
Caspian looks at his sword lying on the ground beside him.
"Uh, no thanks."
"Pick it up! I will not fight an unarmed man!"
"Which is why I will live longer if I choose not to cross blades with you, noble mouse."
"I said I wouldn't fight you. I didn't say I'd let you live!"
"Reepicheep, stay your blade!"
"Trufflehunter? I trust you have a good reason for this untimely interruption!"
"He doesn't. Go ahead."
"Reepicheep, he's the one who blew the horn!"
"What?"
Four centaurs come over the hill, with Gelstorm leading them, and the first one of them to speak.
"Then let him bring it forward. This is the reason we have gathered."
Trumpkin and the family are walking in the woods, trying to get to where Trumpkin last saw Caspian.
"I don't remember this way at all."
"That's the problem with girls. You can't carry a map in your heads."
"That's because our heads have something in them."
"Hold on. Susan, Lucy, you walked right into his trap. You said you don't have a map in your head cause you have a brain, but it's your brain you would use to picture a map. Isn't it?"
Edmund and Ivar could not help but laugh at Kayla's comment, while Lucy and Susan just gave her a death stare.
"I wish you would just listen to the DLF."
"DLF?"
"Dear little friend."
"Oh, that's not patronizing, is it?"
Peter steps into a rock passageway and stops.
"I'm not lost."
Kayla could not help but facepalm at that comment, with the others rolling their eyes.
"No, you're just going the wrong way."
"You said you last saw Caspian at the Shuddering Wood, and the quickest way there is to cross at the River Rush."
"But unless I'm mistaken, there's no crossing in these parts."
"That explains it then. You're mistaken."
"Sorry, Trumpkin. Peter just REALLY hates being wrong."
"Speak for yourself, Kayla!"
"When am I ever wrong? Give me one good time I was wrong."
No one could think of a time when she was wrong. They continue walking and come to a gorge. They all look down at the rushing water below.
"Over hundreds of years, water eroded the earth's soil."
"Oh, shut up. Is there a way down?"
"Yeah, falling. Come. There's a ford at Beruna. Any of you mind swimming?
"Anything's better than walking."
They all start to walk away, but Lucy looks back.
"Aslan? It's Aslan! It's Aslan over there! Well, can't you see? He's right, there."
Everyone looks to where Lucy was pointing, but they do not see Aslan.
"Do you see him now?"
"I'm not crazy. He was there. He wanted us to follow him."
"I'm sure there are any number of lions in this wood. Just like that bear."
"But Peter, that was the only bear we've seen yet."
"Ivar-."
"I think I know Aslan when I see him."
"Look, I'm not about to jump off a cliff after someone who doesn't exist."
"Trumpkin. I'm saying this for your own good. If you say something like that, I will not hesitate to strike you down where you stand. We are descendants of Aslan."
"How?"
"He is my father, and the Pevensie's grandfather."
"I unfortunately, am not descended from him. I wish I was."
"It's alright, Ivar."
"The last time I didn't believe Lucy, I ended up, looking pretty stupid."
"I for one believe you, Lucy. You can always count on me."
"Why wouldn't I have seen him?"
"You weren't looking."
"I'm sorry, Lu."
"That's the problem with a lot of you. You have to see to believe, when believing is seeing. I don't see God face to face, yet by believing in Him, I do. Y'alls should try it. It won't kill you."
Caspian and the Narnians had gathered at Dancing Lawn, the place where Kayla would tell the children of the land stories. It was not looking good for Caspian.
"All this horn proves is that they've stolen yet another thing from us!"
"I didn't steal anything."
"Didn't steal anything?! Shall we list the things the Telmarines have taken?"
"Our homes!"
"Our freedom!"
"Our lives!"
"You would hold me accountable for all the crimes of my people?!"
"Accountable, and punishable!"
"That's words from you, dwarf. Or have you forgotten that it was your people who fought alongside the White Witch?"
"And I'd gladly do it again if it would rid us of these barbarians!"
"Then we are lucky it is not in your power to bring her back. Or do you want us to ask this boy to go against Aslan? Some of you may have forgotten, but we badgers remember well, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was king."
"He's a Telmarine! Why would we want him as our king?!"
"Because I can help you. Beyond these woods, I am a prince. The Telmarine throne is rightfully mine. Help me claim it, and I can bring peace between us."
"It is true. The time is ripe. I watch the skies, for it is mine to watch as it is yours to remember, badger. Tarva, the Lord of Victory, and Alambil, the Lady of Peace have met, and here a son of Adam has come forth to offer us back our freedom."
"Is it possible? Do you really think there could be peace? Do you? I mean, really?"
"Two days ago, I didn't believe in the existence of talking animals, or dwarfs, or centaurs. Yet, here you are, in strength in numbers we Telmarines could never have imagined. Whether this horn is magic or not, it brought us together. And together, we have a chance to take back what is ours."
"If you will lead us, then my sons and I offer you our swords."
"And we offer you our lives, unreservedly."
"Miraz's army will not be far behind, sire."
"If we are to be ready for them, we must hurry to find soldiers and weapons. I am sure they will be here soon."
