Hey! So thank to MadHare0512 for reviewing the last chapter. I'm going to continue it for a bit and see how it goes. I've got a few ideas as to how it'll turn out, but they need tightening up.

Anyway - enjoy this chapter! [See chapter one for the disclaimer]

At 1:00 on the 1st April, Peter told his Aunt where he was going and kissed her goodbye.

To be honest, he was feeling a little nervous. No doubt his teammates had all gone on to achieve fantastic things - especially Danny and Sam - and he would never hear the end of it. At least not from Sam anyway. Danny was more likely to be modest and downplay his achievements. To be fair, Peter was looking forward to seeing Danny. He wondered if he'd arrive on a chariot or something else equally majestic. If he did Peter was totally getting a picture.

He went outside to see a limousine outside the house.

Peter chuckled to himself. "Man, I love SHIELD." The issue of how he was going to explain a limousine being outside his house did cross his mind, but he dismissed it.

The driver got out and bowed slightly. "Mr Parker. I am the driver here to transport you to your day trip you won."

Ah. SHIELD had already thought of that. He should have guessed.

The drive up took a while. It got to the point where - after 45 minutes of driving - Peter got a little suspicious and asked the driver. "How much longer? If it's very far I can websling there. Might be easier-"

"Another twenty minutes, Mr Parker."

The fact that the driver was addressing him by his civilian identity was a sign that this was definitely SHIELD. After all, no one else knew who he was really. Peter relaxed - as best he could given the circumstances - and tried to enjoy the journey.

A field. That was their destination, a field with a massive plane in it.

Peter smiled. "Awesome."

The driver got out and opened the door for him. "I believe there is already someone here...ah. That looks like the final of the party."

Peter turned to see another identical black car heading down towards them. Peter angled himself, trying to see who was in the back, but the blacked-out windows ensured he couldn't do that.

The chauffer got out, opened the door and out popped Ava Ayala. She shook her hair, allowing her now-slightly-shorter black hair to tumble over her shoulders.

Peter smiled. "Ava!"

"Peter!" They hugged. "God, it's good to see you!" She said.

"You to." The other said, and meant it. At least she was nowhere near giving into her amulet's desire to strip away her humanity and turn her into an animal.

...Keep it light, Spidey, keep it light.

Peter stepped to the side and extended his arm towards the aeroplane with a polite. "Ladies first?"

Ava rolled her eyes but went anyway.

Just as they got to the aeroplane, the door to it opened and a familiar-looking black man stepped out and smiled.

"Luke!" Peter held his hand out for a high-five, which Luke returned [using only a fraction of his super-strength]. "How ya doin', buddy?"

"Good, good." Luke hugged Ava. "Just got back from helping Doctor Doom."

Peter gave him a look. "What the hell did Doctor Doom need from you?"

Luke waggled a finger. "Ah-ah. Client confidentiality."

Peter held his hands up. Fair enough.

"Hey." They all turned to see Coulson smiling at them, dressed in a pilots outfit. "Glad to see you could all make it. Are we all ready?"

"Hold on." Peter looked round. "Where's Bucket-Head and His Majesty?"

"Sam and Danny." Ava translated for a confused-looking Coulson.

"As they're both coming from different planets - or in Sam's case from outer-space - then they'll meet us there. Now-" Coulson stepped back. "-If you please, we don't have all day."

Taking the not-at-all subtle hint, the three of them trooped into the plane and took their places.

The plane was very well-furnished. Comfortable first-class seats that could be reclined into a bed, and food and alcohol on tap. It was a shame, Peter thought - as he helped himself to wine - that their journey was only twenty minutes for it all seemed a bit of a waste.

"Man, I could get used to this." Luke said, having already put the chair into its 'bed' position. "I might have a little nap actually - you guys don't mind, do you?"

Ava and Peter both said they didn't. After all they understood. One of the most annoying things about being a superhero was that villains never struck at sociable hours.

"Still alive then?" Ava quipped.

Peter smiled. "No, I died ten days ago, but I felt a SHEILD party was worth comin' back for, ya know?"

Ava laughed, then quietened down as Luke shifted. She nodded her head towards him. "You know what he's been doing?"

"Yeah, hero for hire. Sounds like it's going well."

Ava nodded. "Yeah..." She trailed off and went quiet for a couple of minutes, then - just as Peter was helping himself to cashew nuts - she spoke again. "...What do you think Danny will think of it?"

Peter frowned and said - through a mouthful of food. "Think of what?"

The tigress clicked her tongue impatiently. "The hero for hire business, nimrod! You know they were talking about setting it up together!"

Peter quickly swallowed and said, thoughtfully. "Well...I don't really think Danny can have any complaints. After all - he's the one who decided to go back to Kun Lun and become king. If he'd had stayed and become head of Rand Industries I'm sure he and Luke would have found a way to make it work. So I would guess he's cool with it."

Ava looked thoughtful at this and started drawing little circles on arm of her chair. "Yeah, I suppose when you put it like that..."

Just then Coulson's voice crackled over the intercom. "Lady and gentleman, we are now at the tri-carrier. We'll descend onto it in a few minutes, so please put on your seatbelts and close any trays and things you may have had open. Thank you."

Peter put his seatbelt on and prepared for landing.
