The screen lights up and shows the first scene. The background was cloudy and was a shade of orange like the sunset or sunrise, and emerging from below in a pale demonic clawed hand holding a crimson egg shaped object with facial features on it.

Narrator: In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity, or law…? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above…?

It zooms in on the egg.

Narrator: At least, it is true that man has no control… even over his own will.

The egg shaped object's eyes and mouth opened.

While perturbed by what he saw, Neji agreed with that statement. People were bound to and governed by fate no one can escape their destiny.

The next scene shows a town with a castle that was surrounded by tall walls. Approaching the town is a large man draped in long black cloak. As he entered the town he was met by citizens, horses bound to carriages, beggars, and markets. Riding past him was a prisoner cart full of women and children, crying was heard in the carriage as a baby was wailing in the arms of it's mother, as she tries console the infant another woman looks to see the cloaked man passing by the carriage without even batting an eye.

Episode 1: The Black Swordsman Part 1. (backround a crimson sea of faces moaning in agony.)

The next scene shows a tavern with multiple people inside conversing and drinking alcohol. "Waagh" cried a high pitched voice as a knife was thrown beneath the victim barley missing him. The one who threw the knife was a large mercenary accompanied with a few of his compatriots.

Mercernary 1: Aw, ya missed.

Igor: Damn!

The target was a small fairy-like creature, with light skin, blue hair, large blue pupiless eyes, pointy ears, and glowing blue was tied to a wooden post.

Igor: Quit squirmin' around, how am I supposed to hit you?

The patrons looked on in shame and pity as they do nothing but watch as the small creature was being tormented.

Patron 1: I feel sorry for that elf.

Patron 2: There's nothing we can do about it. Not even the lord mayor can lay a hand on the men of Koka Castle. Best not to get involved.

The door to the tavern opens as the cloaked figure from earlier enters the tavern. He approaches the bartender and slides a coin on the bar towards the bartender.

Guts: I'm gonna mess your shop up a bit.

Bartender: Huh?

He starts to look nervous as the black cloaked stranger pulls out a small crossbow with bolts. Meanwhile the elf was defiantly glaring at his tormenters while biting the rope keeping him tied up.

Puck: Bring it on, fathead! Why don't you untie me? I'll gnaw right through your arteries!

Igor just smirks while menacingly holding up the knife preparing to throw it at the elf.

Igor: Heheheh… I'm gonna stuff those words right back down your throat. Now stop wiggling!

Puck shakes side to side while begging the mercenary to stop.

Puck: Aah! No no no no no no no!

Igor just chuckles evilly when suddenly an arrow impales him on the side of his head pinning his now lifeless body to a wooden beam while splattering blood on it. The elf looks at what happened nervously at what happened while Igor's colleagues looked at what happened in shock.

Merc 1: Igor!

The other mercenary pulls out his sword preparing to kill the one who fired the bolt.

Merc 2: Who the hell…?! You bastard!

The cloaked man cranks the lever on his wrist mounted crossbow and fires more arrows at the mercenaries. One got shot in the eye and mouth while the other one shot in the eye and throat.

As Mercenary 1 looks in fear of his now deceased comrades the figures cloak unveils revealing more of himself. The man has short spiky black hair stands at 6'3 has a very bulky muscular figure, a scar across the bridge of his nose, his right eye was closed, his left eye though was open showing his eye color was brown, he wore black pants, dark brown boots, pouches on his waist, a black sleeveless armored chest piece exposing his scarred arms, a belt of throwing knives on his chest, black armored shoulder pads, and his left forearm was a metal prosthetic.

The elf looks on in confusion wondering who this man was, while patrons looked at what happened with worry and dread at what he did. The man then fired another bolt through the nose of the mercenary. He approaches the mercenary yelling in pain and he grips the arrow impaled through the merc's nose. The elf puts his hands over his mouth as he looks squeamish at the violence currently being displayed.

Puck: That's gotta hurt…

Guts then lifts the thug by the arrow and brings him up to eye level.

Guts: You're one of the thugs from Koka Castle, aren't you?

Merc 1: Ungh, oh God…

Guts then slams him on the table then lifts him up again and demands the thug to answer him as he slams his face against the table with blood pouring out from his wound staining it.

Merc 1: Yes… sir…

Guts responds while flicking the arrow "All right. Then I suppose you can deliver a message to your boss for me."

Merc 1: Wh- what message?

Guts: Tell them… the Black Swordsman… is coming. That's all.

Merc 1: The Black Swordsman…

Another Koka thug sneaks up behind Guts to kill him.

Puck: Behind you!

Guts, with his face draped in shadow and eye glowing white, holds up a massive great sword that was black with silver edges, from his back that was hidden underneath his cloak. With a single swing of his blade he cut the assailant in half separating his legs form his torso! His sword slammed in to the ground damaging the floor as blood was gushing from the assailant as his upper half was sent flying to a table startling the citizens as it bounced off the table on to the floor. The patrons looked at what happened with fear, shock, and awe. Including Puck who wore a flabbergasted expression, "Huh?"

The sword was dripping with blood as Guts proceeded to place the sword on his back.

Narrator: It was far too large to be called a sword… Massive, thick, heavy and far too rough… Indeed, it was more like a hulking mass of iron.

Guts then smirks at the mercenary from before with the arrow through his nose and says to him, "I'm counting on you."

Guts then proceeds to leave the tavern. Snapped out of his shock Puck calls out to Guts to untie him, "Um, excuse me… Hey, wait a second, don't leave me here! Aw, man..."

After his brief scuffle in the bar, Guts continued his venture through the town. He had made an enemy of the thug's boss, and no power-hungry leader would let a slight like that go unpunished. Yes, he suspected a visit from this boss figure soon enough.

A childish voice called at him from above. It was that elf from the tavern, flying down towards him. Guts ignored the creature and kept walking. "Hey! Hey, wait up!" the elf called. It was floating right next to his ear now. "Listen, if you're going to save someone, you don't just leave them tied up like that! You're supposed to follow it through the end you know!

Guts continued to tune the small elf out. "Say, that's quite a sword you got there. Or, should I call it a slab?

Once again, silence on Guts' end. "Oh yeah! I'm Puck, nice to meetcha!

He continued walking down the street, not even bothering to respond to the little elf.

Puck didn't seem too put off by him yet. Perhaps he figured that since he saved him, then he was a nice guy or something. "You know, I used to be part of a traveling performing troupe, but one day we got attacked by bandits and I've been locked up in a mynah bird's cage and soaked in a whine bottle ever since. It's a wonder I'm still alive, that's for sure!" Puck was starting to look a little put out that he hadn't made to continue the conversation. "This town has also been attacked a number of times, but the mayor made a deal with those thugs. In exchange for tribute, they would leave the town alone. But after this, I guess they might start attacking again."

Once again, no response from Guts. Puck sighed. "If I were you, I'd get out of town. If they catch you, they'll cut you to pieces. And it's not just the thugs either now that the lord mayor has mad a pact with them, even the towns guard will…" He went to sit on Guts' shoulder, but before he could Guts swatted him away like a fly.

"Ow! Hey, that hurt!" Puck yelled at him, while holding his backside in pain. "What did you that for?!"

Guts stopped to give him the only response so far. "Don't touch me. I'll crush you." His voice was low enough to convey the feeling of dread. With that out of the way, he continued on like nothing had happened.

Puck shouted at him once again, sounding angrier this time. "What is with you?! A person shows you a little concern and you respond with that stuck-up attitude of yours!"

Guts stopped in his tracks, not so much because of Puck calling him out, but more the approaching mass of town guards. Each and every one had their weapons drawn and pointed straight at him.

"See I told ya." Puck responded. He then flew away leaving Guts in the hands of the guards. "Welp gotta go."

He cursed to himself, "Aw damn."

The sounds of a whip cracking can be heard in the air as it shows that they took him to a dark and dank cellar, confiscated his gear, and chained him by his wrists to the ceiling. There wasn't much he could do, save for listening to the sound of his blood hitting the cold stone floor. Six to eight cuts marred his bare chest.

The torturer cleaned the blood from his whip. "You're a stubborn bastard you know that? Ain't you even going to make a little noise? Huh?!"

"Pttew," Guts spat blood at the torturer's face.

The torturer raised his whip again. "You bastard!" Before he could crack the whip, the door to the cellar opened.

"Stop," he was a small, old man with a bushy, white mustache. No doubt this was the Mayor of the town. "That's enough for now."

"Lord!" The torturer backed off and the mayor inspected the confiscated weapons. "That stockpile of weapons, it belongs to this man?"

"Yes, Lord Mayor," the torturer nodded. "Enough weapons to start his own war. Crazy bastard."

The mayor took in his appearance from the tall, muscular frame, the various battle scars, and metal arm. "You… are you a mercenary?"

Guts didn't answer.

"A complete stranger to these parts," the mayor continued. "You've done a terrible thing. Do you have any idea what you've done?!" he was beginning to tremble. "Because you murdered those men, this town might end up destroyed!"

This time, with a smirk Guts actually remarked. "Are you telling me those guards standing there are scarecrows?"

One of the guards stepped forward in retaliation to Guts claim, but the mayor stopped him "Enough!" The mayor shook his head, looking more and more nervous. "You have no idea how horrible he really is…the leader of those men. He, that thing, is beyond human. It's something horrible, and incomprehensible! A creature from the very depths of the pit! No one can kill him! At least, not anyone human."

"I see. So that's why you made your dirty deal with him, huh?" He smirked slightly at the mayor's bemused reaction.

In anger the Mayor gripped Guts' throat "How could you understand?! A wandering vagrant like yourself…!"

"I understand." The mayor went silent. "I know that he's a monster that eats human flesh. I know it well. And I know you continue to provide him with his meals. I passed them at the gates of the city, a prison cart full of women and children. "

The mayor began to sweat. "I am the mayor! It is my duty to protect this town!"

"Protect this town, don't you mean protect yourself?" he could tell that he had struck a nerve, as the old mayor fell to his knees while clutching his chest in pain. He grinned at the Mayor's reaction.

Nervously backing away to the exit, the mayor addressed the torturer. "Do it. Torture him as much as you'd like, I don't care. But don't kill him. We still need hand him over to Koka Castle and to the baron, alive. I'd best go to the castle and beg the baron for forgiveness." He left.

The torturer grinned as he grabbed a red, hot poker and pressed it against Guts' abdomen. He was disappointed when the Black Swordsman never made a sound.

"The Black Swordsman, you say?" the Baron of Koka Castle sat alone in his dining room feasting away at the meal the head chef and prepared for him. It looked like diced ham with a nice glass of wine, but everyone in the castle knew better. Ham was more pink, not the splotched red that he ate, and wine was supposed to smell sweet not like a faint trace of iron. For these reasons and another, he was also known as the Snake Baron.

"Yes, Lord Baron." The sole survivor from the tavern reported, now with a bandage on his nose. "He wielded a sword that was taller than him, swung it like it was nothing and split Dean in half with one stroke. He wore all black, and he had a false arm made of iron, a real shady looking guy."

The baron poked at his dinner and took a bite. His extraordinarily sharp teeth chewed at the meat. "I wonder, could it be him?"

The door to his dining room was thrown open and an attendant came. "My lord." "What is it?" the Baron asked, not happy that he was being deprived of properly enjoying his meal. The attendant answered, "That wretch, the mayor, is waiting at the castle gate. He requests an audience with you about the recent incident." "I see." said the Baron as he allowed the mayor to enter.

The mayor enters the room and the Baron greets him, "It's been a while, mayor. How good of you to come."

"I-it has been a while, my lord," the mayor pathetically stuttered before his presence. "I have personally come to offer my apologies for what transpired earlier today. This was the act of a vagrant who is unfamiliar with our ways; he is not connected to our town in any way. To compensate for the loss, I will see that you receive double the amount of gold and prisoners. Please-,"

"You look troubled. Unlike before you're now worried about losing your own life, aren't you? Aren't you, mayor?" The baron then flicks a piece of meat from his fork at the mayor who clumsily caught it. The mayor looked down on the meat seeing that it was actually a severed human ear!

The mayor yelped in fright and dropped the ear and crawled backwards.

The baron stood up from the table and walked up to his suit of armor, with a helmet that resembles the head of a cobra. "Gold and prisoners, I don't care about them, I never have. All I really wish to see are humans trapped in a fiery apocalypse, trying to escape. I want to hear the sounds of bones breaking under the hooves of horses." He turned his gaze to the mayor. "I don't need an excuse. None at all."

The mayor was seized by his arms by the Baron's guards. "W-what are you doing?! Let go of me!" The Snake Baron smiled unnervingly at him. "Let me go! Lord Baron! Lord Baron, please!" His cries went unheard.

"The Black swordsman…" said the Baron. He then proceeded to laugh evilly as his yellow, slit-pupil eyes glowed in the darkness of the room. And the screen fades to black.

I need help with how the characters react.
