That night in their room, Apple and Raven were getting ready for bed while talking about their day.
"I'm glad Headmaster Grimm was able to find rooms for Luz and the others on such short notice," said Raven.
"Yeah, but Amity didn't look like she was feeling good, she was bright red after we told her she would be rooming with Luz," said Apple who couldn't help but show her worry for the young witch.
"Oh, she's feeling fine," said Raven with a slight laugh.
"She was just flustered to be sharing a room with the girl she likes, that's why I had Will put there with them, in order to lessen her nervousness," she said.
"Wait, Amity likes Luz?" asked a shocked Apple.
"But they're both girls," she said.
"Apple, not all boys and girls want to be with someone of the opposite gender," said Raven while turning around to look at the blonde with a shocked expression.
"I… I've never heard of anyone like that," said Apple.
"And that's because here in Ever After being gay is seen as the same as rebelling against destiny," said Raven.
"But there are some of us out there who are living happily," she said.
"Wait, did you just say 'us,' right now?" asked Apple.
"I did," said Raven as she realized that she had put her foot in her mouth by saying too much.
"Because I'm what's called a bisexual, a person who likes both boys and girls," she said. Now it was Apple's turn to stare at the witch out of shock.
"If there's nothing else, I'm going to bed," said the young witch before heading to her side of the room, turning the lights off and leaving Apple standing in the dark.
"Wha… what is going on?" thought Apple as she felt her heartbeat increase slightly.
