A little while later, Luz, Amity, and Cerise were walking around the village of Bookend.
"I can't believe some of the things we managed to get," said Luz, who had two bags in her hands.
"King's going to love the crown that I got him," she said.
"I'm still not so sure about that dress you had me get, it's not my normal style after all," said Amity who held only one bag.
"Oh, come on, that dress looked great on you," said Luz as she turned to face Amity while walking backwards.
"She's right, and it's never wrong to try something new," said Cerise.
"Thanks," said Amity who was blushing again.
"Hey, I know a shortcut through the Enchanted Forest back to the school so let's go that way," said Cerise as she pointed to the nearby tree line.
"Sounds like a plan," said Luz before following the hooded girl into the forest followed by Amity, the sun setting as they did so.
"Careful, the ground is a little uneven here," said Cerise as she helped Luz and Amity cross a slight hump in the ground.
"How can you see through this darkness?" asked Amity.
"I'm used to going out at night, so my eyes have adapted to it," said Cerise as she turned to continue heading for the school, unaware that her hood had gotten snagged on a tree branch.
"Whoa," said Luz as she and Amity looked at Cerise's ears which came into clear view after her hood got pulled off by the branch.
"Nonono," said Cerise as she hurriedly pulled her hood back up.
"Please, you two can't tell anyone about this," said Cerise while panicking at the same time she was looking back at the two.
"We promise," said Amity and Luz. The two then turned their faces away from each other as a slight blush came to them.
"Huh, this is an interesting reaction," thought Cerise.
"Um, so you're not just the daughter of Red Ridinghood?" asked Luz who was trying to change the subject.
"My dad is actually Professor Badwolf," said Cerise as she felt there was no need to hide the truth from the two of them. The three then carried on their way back to the school while talking.
